    In this Video, I'll be repairing a Toyota Corolla from a side swipe collision. I'll repair the dog leg section of the quarter panel, the rocker panel, the rocker molding and replacing the right rear door,
    I'll pull out the damage using a Uni-Spotter and Uni Keys.

    Hey those keys are they for light pull only ?
    I see one other technician uses metal plates he welds on with a mig welder instead.
    I used the key method before put they keep pulling out.

      Ever since I used them, I haven't had to mig weld a plate. It also pulls way better than welding a plate because it pulls the low spots first. The closer together and more keys you put, the more likely the keys won't fall off.
      Check out this short for another pull with the keys czcams.com/users/shorts-qVymqnK1qE?feature=share

    What was the weld for at 6:04? And when you pulled with the keys the first time did you have to sit the metal from inside the door jamb?

    • @AUTOBODYTECH
      @AUTOBODYTECH  Před 6 měsíci +7

      Sometimes, the keys tear off while pulling, so I was welding up the tears.
      Depending how badly it is damaged I normally pull with the door on until the gap is nice and flush, then I'll knock the crowns on the inner afterward.
      If it's giving me resistance, then I'll pull with the door open and knock the crowns while pulling. Hope that makes sense

    Can you give some concept to the time spent on this? How many labor and paint hours for the total repair?

    • @AUTOBODYTECH
      @AUTOBODYTECH  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I would say about 2 days body and assembly labor and half day for prep and paint

    Not replacing metal means it’s just weaker take a paper clip bend it a few times the strength goes down same thing here

      For a classic yeah. Not really that important for a car that will be off the roads in 10years.
