Marella Discovery Ocean-view Cabin Tour & Review

- Kicking off our Marella Discovery Cruise to Florida, Bahamas, New York and Charleston with a full tour and review of our cabin! It’s an ocean view cabin, (cabin no. 2012), deck 2, forward and port side, very close to sea level with great ocean views and near to the lifts and stair case. Just 2 decks above you’ll find lots of bars, restaurants a and the atrium. I’ll also show you the in-cabin dining service menu / costs and laundry facilities.
What do you think? Is this a cabin you could imagine staying in? Our last cabin was an inside and this was far far better for all sorts of reasons!

Great review of Discovery 2 outside view cabin. My wife and I are going on Discovery 2 for two week far east cruise in March 2025. Our cabin is on second floor too.

What a great room - looks spacious. On island Princess we have a balcony but no sofa, 2 sockets only, shower curtain in a tiny shower and no kettle!!
How’s island princess generally?
We are loving it! Food is great, service excellent & it doesn’t feel crowded (2000 onboard). The app is great - love ordering food & drinks to our location! We’ve gone for the drink package as the wifi is priceless for communicating with home on a 2weeker. The things in my original comment are certainly not deal breakers but would feature on my ‘fantasy cruise line’!
Great video helps with plug sockets and the soaps. was interesting to hear someones thoughts! 40 days and counting till we board her!

Like all the cupboard space in the cabin, and nice big window and mirrors. Went on Marella Explorer in Feb this year and had a huuuge cabin - two separate rooms in fact with an enormous balcony. It was a special occasion so pushed the boat out ( sorry😛). I thought it was a lovely ship. Jamie I like your idea for the crease release spray and will look out for it! Looking forward to the rest of your review to see how Discovery compares to Explorer! 👍

We have a balcony cabin because we spend quite a bit of time sitting out on it reading but I love how close to the sea this cabin is ❤ I might rethink next time

Fab review Jamie,We loved Discovery when we sailed on her in 2019,and we really wanted to sail on her again this year,but the US itinerary was a little out of our budget range,So we opted to sail on Discovery 2,this summer in a deluxe balcony cabin for 2 weeks around the western Med.( practically identical ship I think?)Looking forward to your next vlogs in this series 😎🛳

Looks a nice cosy cabin Jamie and a decent size, not keen on the lack of plug sockets by the bed or the clingy shower curtain, but very functional otherwise :)

Hi Jamie, I have justt found you nd your vlog was immensely helpful as we are going on the 2 week USA on 10th September, in an outside cabin, deck 3. Do they have a fridge please? Very happy about the water fountains, as seen on Iona and Arvia, but not yet on Britannia.
I think some do but if it’s not in this vlog then no, not in this cabin

I find crease release really good.
It’s a life saver
No sockets next to the bed a problem for us as husband has a sleep apnea machine, do they allow extensions would you think. Good video though Jamie.
As long as they are checked at reception, o believe you’re good to go!

A great cabin, bright and spacious. I don't like the shower curtain but it's not a deal breaker. We've booked 7536 on Discovery 2 so I'm guessing the bathroom will be similar.
I believe it’ll be very similar if not the same! At least the shower is wide enough for no clingy curtain moments lol
Yes as Jamie says it'll be almost exactly the same, we stopped in 7036 on that ship :)
