"it appears that D&D decided to not attend their own trial"
The internet demands a trial by combat!
IT'S A TRAP
Margery Ghost: "forget about the bloody roast! D&D know the consequences of their absence, and yet they're not here anyway! It's a TR- " boom!
They know they messed up. They know. The actors did their job, the set designers did their job, the directors did what they were told to do, but when it came down to it D &D failed to do their job.

Nikolaj deserved all the applause. What he did not deserve was to have his character arc thrown out the window like Bran.
Knaussenheimer
100%. Jaime had the potential to finish with the strongest character arc in the show, and they completely fucked his whole arc in one episode 😒
His character arc came full circle lmao wtf some ppl dumb af
I saw an interview of him where defends D&Ds writing and gets really angry and mean, when someone thinks otherwise. Not cool..
Nikolaj is such an asshole in realife.

They kinda forgot about fan questions...
fans are just another iron fleet
The fans? lol, you know the fans don't matter haha.
This meme will never get old.
I wonder why bc they know what they'd ask and say
They kinda did it intentionally, because actors are forced to say nothing but positive things about the projects they work on; else be shunned from the industry.
Key example: Megan Fox
Has anyone ever even attempted to apologize to her after having told the truth about her director, getting shunned for it, then the reality of his vast mistreatments of actors surfaced?
No. Actors are afraid. Especially if you happen to work for Disney.
Its kinda sad that D&D are using these actors as a meat shield for their own failures.
Like Cersei used the civillians of Kings Landing, or something?
They threw these talented actors out, told them to make chicken salad out of chicken shit, then told them to take the backlash for a terrible season.
I don’t know if that’s what’s happening....but I think it’s fucking stupid the cast are the ones taking the flak for the writers’ incompetence
I think................................................................................ Fuck You, NO, shut up forever
Comic con events and panels are decided around 6 months earlier so that planning and preparation can take place. It’s a money making business for Comic Con. So Studios have to book and pay for their panels around 6 months in advance. HBO thought they made a killer Season 8 when in fact it turned out to be the worst season. So HBO sent out these actors with a “guarantee” that there will no fan questions.
Well Ned Stark , Red Wedding... they broke hearts but were fitting to the show...
The ending was something else
They were also sourced from the books so people knew it was coming
It is so sad the show ended the way it did
They should probably gone out on the high of s6 ending all things considered
@One 😅 and if Winds of Winter comes out and Georgie Boy actually wrote that youll still be pissed?
He won't. He already said that many of the dead characters in the show are still alive in his mind - and presumably shall be for a time in his books, if he gets his muse going...
We didn’t get pissed bc it ended. We got pissed bc it was sloppy writing filled with plot holes
Plot holes ? it was lacking a script and competent writer's that dont need a book to be able to write a script hence the lack of one
Plot hole is too generous. You mean a plot abyss.
@Mario Fajardo - And D&D's actions afterward just poured fuel on the fire.
They are being polite, is like eating something even though it tasted like shit just because somebody you apreciate cooked it
Exactly, I never had a chance to feel sad because show ended but instead i was just mad and disappointed and just wanted it to end that's all.
I like how Nikolaj sticks his head out from behind the curtain first to make sure that noone throws anything at him.

12:57 "but I don't think anyone expected the level of blowback that there was"
Conleth: "mehh I dunno about that"
Sorry for not having time for fan questions.
It was accidentally my fault and not carefully pre-planned.
You see if you like sitting in a room with hundreds of people asking you about a failure of a season that you had no part in writing and wasnt your fault
Arran Willis people know that and they were going to ask questions like "would you have preferred if...". No one would say "your acting was terrible" as we both know it wasn't.
What i don't like is that they lied about why there were no fan questions.
@@arranwillis8410 If you don't like it, perhaps don't come to the panel. Perhaps we should stop asking hard questions from politicians because they don't like it?
After the biggest disappointment in TV history, perhaps it would have been best to not have GOT panel in the first place.
To be completely honest, the fact that they keep defending D&D makes me like them less even though I never had a problem with the actual acting in GoT (well, Danny was terrible, but anyway).

The person hosting this panel also did a private interview with these same actors before this panel and asked all of these safe questions before, so the questions are obviously gone over beforehand.
propaganda
They sound like Trump. "Fake news!" BS. Most of the media liked it. It was the fans who hated it. Reddit is not the media, which is where a lot of unhappy people people were posting stuff. It's just fans posting their own thoughts, not some news website.
@@anakinskywalker1287 The media didn't even like it, around 50 % of rotten tomatoes critics gave it fresh reviews compared to 90% and above for every other season, several late-night hosts made fun of it and even major news networks brought up criticisms. I have a feeling that the emmy nominations it received were just because it was the final season. There is no way that anyone could actually believe "the iron throne" is one of the best written and directed tv episodes of the year unless they're blind show apologists
Even they are wearing the same clothes. So this panel must be not that much later after the interview.
@@idawg7332 The Iron Throne is the worst episode in GOT history. It had 57 minutes without dialogue. I think my dog could write and direct better finale for a show that had endless possibilities to explore in it's finale.
Everything that had any importance in season 8 happened offscreen. And I mean everything. It has to be done in purpose to fuck the audience, because nobody can be that incompetent. I sincerely think that season 8 could not have been any worse. Pretty much any change would have either made it better, or made it more comical and thus better.
Before the panel, the audience was prepped to behave nicely and not boo. Also, the cast was asked these exact same questions in a private interview before by the same moderator. This "Q&A" was a complete farce.
EDIT: it appears the meaning of my comment flew over the heads of some in the comments, so I'll clarify. I'm not saying the cast should have been booed. They did their best with the shitty material they were given. What I meant was that this comic con panel was so heavily (and unprecedently) manipulated in every way in order to paint a rosy picture of season 8, one far removed from reality. The s8 criticism was addressed briefly by the cast, but even then it was dismissed as a "media-led hate campaign" which it clearly wasn't. To add insult, the moderator "ran out of time" for the Q&A. All of this was done to deny fans the chance to question or express their thoughts about s8, which was the whole point of this panel - it's why many of the fans queued up for hours and hours and hours. In the end, it was just a one-sided, half-hearted goodbye.
so obviously you had to be there 🙄

All respect to the cast of this show. It was because of their performances that people gave a crap about the show in the fist place, and it was because the fans loved the characters so much that so many were upset by how the show ended. But the cast was always fantastic and nobody should turn on them for playing their parts until the end with the same level of professionalism and talent that they brought to every season of the show. Thanks to the cast for the years of good work and the heart they put into the show.
Watching this after seeing Seth Rogan take all kinds of shots at D&D makes this so much better.
Very disrespectful to the fans to not have a Q&A at the end like they always do with the panels, I'm really disgusted.
you just wanted to see people come up and shit on the show. its better without the q&a
@@thedude6730 No, I want them to address fan questions like he said he would at the start and towards the end of the panel. He lied about this and said that they ran out of time, it's not right to do that to the fans. He specifically says that they'll get to fan questions towards the end of the panel, he did this to placate people and it was a lie. It's not easy to get into the hall and they know that people camp outside so they can get in to ask questions. Every other panel does this. Now they just ran out of time? What? At least be upfront and honest about it.
@@thedude6730 Why are you asuming that? Sure, A LOT of people hated season 8 (myself included), but it still has its defenders. Pretty sure there were a lot of them in the panel. Fans are pissed at D&D, not the actors. Funny how they had one guy at the begining saying that difference of opinions are welcome and yet they didn't allow the fans to ask their questions. Fucking disgusting.
B Gill Frankly the fan reaction has been equally disgusting. I didn’t like S8 either. But it’s just a tv show. No reason to verbally abuse anyone who worked on this production. Even David and Dan.
@B Gill the fans have no say in if there will be Q&A or not. The Fans are not hosting the comic con panels ffs 😂
Conleth is dealing with the same thing all of us do: He can't piss off the boss, or he won't be able to use him as a reference.
@CLUB BRENDAN There's a long list of very popular actors who couldn't get work after pissing off producers. The entire cast of M*A*S*H with the exception of Alan Alda, for example. He refused to join the other actors in a revolt against the producers.
@CLUB BRENDAN
Agreed. Even those who thought the last season was bad ( like Conleth) evidently enjoyed working on the show. And why wouldn't they? It was a very high profile series which brought them all fame.
@I'm Done I liked and agree with your comment regarding the actors not having any actual desire to complain as the show clearly had brought friendship, experience, wealth and many joyful moments for them.
But...
I disagree with your earlier comment saying they would find work if they had seriously spoken out. Hollywoo-woo land is no kind of meritocracy. It's a hardcore "nepoticratic" minefield for professional workers.
John Bradley really has a beautiful way of articulating his perspective on portraying Samwell. He has such a sweet demeanor like his character. Love him!
He ' s my favourite for the same reasons, brilliant guy!

Nikolaj was saying something at the end, i think he wanted to address the fans, i feel so bad for him and the fans there
This panel is the evidence that the show has gone down the shitter, and will always be remembered with a sour taste by the fans.
This is their last season, the good bye, the final meeting with the fans. This panel should have been like a big party, yet only a small fraction of the cast is here without Kit and Emilia, D&D have bailed, and GRRM is also absent. Not allowing Q&A and idiotic questions from the moderator which shows this has been scripted.
They can try to spin this as much as they want in MSM by calling fans toxic or whatever, but the failure of the show is even accepted by themselves...

Well the editors were definitely rushed. Missing coffee cups or water bottles
Conleth is always quick and funny.
Wish him and Littlefinger could have had a final showdown
Really disappointed that they didn't trust the audience enough to let them ask questions. The actors came there to interact with their fans, not with an MC who couldn't even pronounce the characters' names correctly.
This is sad to watch. All these people were so deeply invested in the success and legacy of this show. It was not their fault. They did their best. Still, their biggest (and probably only) chance of being remembered for something truly iconic, ruined by the unfortunate circumstances and bad decisions of a few. You can sense the conflict in each of these actors. They are fumbling with their words, fidgeting, trying to defend the season. Game of Thrones season 8 was a shitshow, that's just a fact by now. Objectively that is. Most people agree. It's not just people not having it the way they wanted. It's bad storytelling. Good acting though, That's why this is so hard to watch. Wish D&D would've shown up, so everybody could've had some closure. Maybe they could've even redeemed themselves a little bit. But no, they are probably too proud to face the reality of the situation

I do feel for them and some of the crew. They would be even more keenly aware of the "missing" three or four seasons that were required to tie the story up than even the fans, for it was their jobs. Possibly their best jobs. One or two of them probably would have even been happy if it went on indefinitely for years, like a seasonal soap opera if they could have found good writers, Lol.

@@alyssafoster4765 Tell that to dem femnsts
The media didn't drive anything negative about the final season. We know the garbage we saw from our couches
All of them are so funny and awesome, but John Bradley talking about The progression of Sam made me cry, so smart, The perfect Sam!
Thank you soo much for posting a good quality video if you have more from the event I would appreciate it . Sending love from kenya 🇰🇪
Why are there articles going around saying people booed Nikolaj for saying he liked Jamie and Cersei's death? That was not booing, that was literally just people murmuring, like what lol
Do u expect all the reporters to stand and boo? Even 2-3 people together booing is very embarrassing. And the actor who plays Samwell just changes his face right away
@@Bumble-bee_
The Braime shippers are still upset. Though as Nicolaj said it's hard to see that working over the long haul.
Mass media article writers are not exactly rocket scientists, philosophers nor even morally conscious. Lol!
Take no notice of them or you'll lose IQ points faster than being battered around the head by a big bat (a wooden one, not a flying one).
@@alanpennie8013well, it's the writers own fault again, Jaime and Brienne shouldn't have gotten together, given the way they wrote Jaime's character after season 3, almost opposite f what he's doing in the books
Conleth and Liam kill me every time😂
honestly, we shouldn't blame the actors for anything, they had no word about their character's endings and I doubt very much that they can be a 100% honest about what they really think of these last seasons.
I just think it's very sad that d&d hadn't the guts to face these fans. if they truly believed that what they gave to us was good, they should be at this panel.
Same scripted questions they got asked in a previous interview earlier that day.
1. Purposefully ran the clock
2. Didn't allow for fan questions WHICH IS THE POINT OF COMICON
3. I feel bad for the actors who actually had the courage to go and face the fans. They did fantastic!
Dumber and dumber on the other hand failed miserably this last season.
Also, cutting off Nikolaj at the end.
I think they knew there won't be questions from the public, otherwise they would ask to hurry up for the moment people are waiting for.
Have you ever heard about the action-reaction thing? The action was a flow of hatred towards the showmakers, and even some of the actors, initiated by the so-called fans. The reaction - omitting questions. You can be angry as you wish but who else should teach fans to behave, if their parents obviously failed in that field in many cases? Don't get me wrong - but I got a lot of hate myself by fellow "fans", only by saying I liked the way the story ended and was willing to close my eyes from some mistakes in cinematography. What the heck? It's not David and Dan's fault, or the interviewer, the questions were omitted. It's the fan community. It serves them right!
Total disrespect from nikolai comparing ned’s be heading and the red wedding to season 8
But then again very brave of him and everyone else who showed up at the panel while D&D hide.
i cant imagine what its like to be part of this once great show and see this happen
Dean Learner exactly, you could see it in them, very nervous except for conleth hill
I feel like hbo had a knife to all their throats and are having them defend this last season and d&d are cowards for not showing up they knew the consequences of their actions
The minute D&D refused the extra seasons offered by HBO, they should have found different directors.
I bet they got a stack of cash to defend this shit ending season
Lool, my fav Sam line is actually “I can’t steal her. She is person, not a goat”.
When he said that I was like "who steals goats?"
Respect to all the actors who attended. Especially Nikolaj I think hes a stand up guy. It's hard to face the fans after such a terrible end to the series but I respect them more than the actors who played Jon and Danny and dont want to face the criticism.
35:33 HES SAID THE LINE 😂😂😂😂😂
Charlie Hemsley That was jokes lmao
Conleth Hill is perfect!
I agree with those who say no Q&A was a total disrespect to the fans! Fans came to comic con payed hundreds of dollars, waited for hours to get a chance at asking a question to their fav character....and they do that to them?! That's way past wrong!
Out of time? Freaken Agents of shield ran out of time so they had a "speedy q&a" where they answered like 4 questions!
On a side note: these actors got my respect being professional showing up and being loving not ashamed of their work...because they put on a great act for the lines they were given no matter how trashy it was!
Liam and Jacob were hilarious, but Conleth Hill's honesty and humor was my favorite part of this panel. "That last series was about was the futility of conflict and the pointlessness of war." My feelings towards the show have softened since the finale, it was nice to just appreciate the actors and what they've done for the past 10 years. It's sad that David and Dan didn't feel like they would be welcomed there (as evidenced by online reactions). We haven't heard their thoughts about any of this since the final episode aired. People can be savages.
No One.
What Conleth said about Ulster's recovery from a long period of conflict was great. I enjoyed the panel. Doubt I'd have enjoyed D&D. They annoy me.
I wanted Lena! 😭😭😭
Why? She obviously thought it was garbage too. I gained a tonne of respect for all the actors that didn't bother to show up to this shit, and for Conleth Hill who has refused to kiss arse.
@@AVerySillySausage Nikolaj has earned arguably more respect by actually seeing him want to take fan questions 39:15 and at the end saying "Wait wait" when the moderator said they ran out of time for questions from the fans. I actually dislike Kit Harington and Sophie Turner a lot for their answers. I know you shouldn't make these things personal and of COURSE no actor would go out of their way to call their own show bad but COME ON Sansa came off even more unlikable when saying "people worked hard therefore dont critizice it" basicially. And Kit saying "go fuck yourself in my mind if you didn't like it" yeah that's his opinion but I can still say they are both very narrow minded and refuse to see our viewpoint and actually talk about our arguments what we saw objectively wrong about the season(s)
42:06 “one more question before we go to fan questions” 😒
Trying to convince the fans the last season didn't suck... LMAO
It didn't suck for me. :-) From the storytelling POV, I was thrilled, because a lot of things I predicted for 2-3 years happened. I think everyone has a right to make his own opinion. Don't generalize. There are people who liked it, even with some mistakes. :-)
@@michaja2 Sure :^)
Jana Michalcová so did you predict that the NK would be killed in the most anti-climatic way ever and that the whole white walker plot not having any real consequences? Because that and Danys sudden madness which was rushed and should have been a slow descent into madness is what ruined the show for me
@@saarah0006 Dany's fall into madness was fairly predictable, to be fair. She was crucifying people back in season 3.
d.a. pryor have you even watched the show properly? She was crucifying slavers and the masters who put people in bloody slavery, she never once hurt any innocents or women and children so saying it was predictable is pretty dumb as there was no build up or development towards her madness.
And Now IMAGINE that season 8 was actually good and the announcer would have said,'' Please welcome His Grace, himself Jon Sno... Kitt Harrington''
Imagine the reaction of audience
Thanks dude now I'm going to cry imagine this 😭
This should be ended like this 😭
😭😭 I'd never watch anythinh associated with DnD ever again.
So tired of this idea that a popular show can't have an ending that satisfies most audiences, breaking bad and plenty of other shows managed it. Also, why are they acting like the response to the red wedding and season 8are the same? We weren't mad about the red wedding, we were sad and shocked that they killed popular characters. We were mad about season 8 because the writing was shit
I agree,we were mad and shocked when they killed main characters but everything made sense back then. Can't say the same about season 8.
@@vedoramjattan1878
No. Pretty much nothing made sense. Maybe in the books.
Damage control. They won't acknowledge it.
Cough cough lord of the rings witch this is all based from had a better ending cough cough
I was glad Caitlin Stark died in the Red Wedding. She did my head in. Lol.
Nikolaj could you not look like a snacc FOR FIVE MINUTES
Its physically impossible for him not to ;)
How convenient that they were no fan questions lol.
The fan questions are usually stupid and cringeworthy anyway. see:previous GoT comic cons
@@neelbhogal359 except this year it would have been them tearing this shit show of a last season apart
Where are Dumb and Dumber?
2 scared to show up😂😂 look at seth rogen making fun of them literally at their next pannel xD

What are they all drinking? Looks familiar 😒
Yes I had some problems with the last season but they panel was great. They all came out knowing some people might hate and gave us a very entertaining hour. Much love to all of them
d and d didn't come out knowing that they would get hate and even if people were mad at the actors (which no one is ) their were no fan questions soo
Why do you say "some people" like it's only 1 or 2 percent of the fan base? The MAJORITY of fans had problems...not with the cast but the shit writing to close out what was the end of arguably the biggest TV shows of all time...
@@phish021 Absolutely true. It's hilarious that HBO apparently tried to cover damage by saying that it's the media who's leading the hate when the majority of actual fans are outraged. DnD really insulted the audiences' intelligence by saying that Dany's seed of madness was foreshadowed in Season 1 when she watched her brother died and didn't who emotion. The brother who physically and mentally abused her for years and just threatened to rip her baby out of her womb. Sadly, bunch of DnD defenders are still using that scene as "foreshadowing" to defend Season 8.
Rest in Peace GOT. I guess I am completely done with the show so I'm just going to wait for the books to come out.
@@phish021 It's a minority of people that hated the last season. D & D decided to make the end more of a spectacle. The majority of people appreciated it. They turned off their TVs happy back in May and haven't paid all the negativity a bit of attention. They have actually done polls and a majority of people were positive about the final season.
@@dougharner3548 You're an idiot if you were satisfied with last season. Yes the acting and cinematography was great but the writing was trash and there is no denying that
If they did take questions it would be 'Was the ending an off season April fools joke?'
They're making fun of the petition and the fan backlash, but I think that deep down, they know S8 was complete fucking bullshit. Kit Harrington coming out with the hard "disappointing" in that infamous interview, Emilia Clark laughing sarcastically when talking about the ending...
God S8 of GoT was a fucking shitshow.
Twisted Films I think give it a couple of years and the cast will be telling their true feeling... watch
No D&D, no fan question????? They stay robbing the fans of this show!! Dont keep silent, stay mad and make ur voice known cause this shit is not okay!!
The fact that they still entertain this stupid narrative of "we allways had controversies", "you can't make it right for everyone", "Everyone worked so hard so it must be good" - and blatantly refuse to aknowledge or discuss valid criticism of the ending of GoT is madenning to a point that i lose respect for the actors as serious artists.
Totally. At the end of the day, this was just a paycheck for them.
But Muh careeeeeer. Gotta suck the higher ups off in order to stay in the business. Fucking hate the way it works.
They've signed contracts, not to mention it looks bad to future employers if you talk crap about your previous work. It sucks, these guys definitely deserved so much better.
The moderator completely ignores John in the beginning:(
For the first 30 minutes you mean...
Also l, look at that wink he gives Conleth at 25:23 when the moderator is like, I have left the last couple of questions for you Maisie.
Conleth is always awesome in interviews. And shoutout to Jacob and that Stan Lee shirt
The minute D&D refused the extra seasons offered by HBO, they should have found different directors.
1. They could have made more money, which is obviously the goal of any company usually, even if it sounds greedy.
2. There's no real way I can think of how GoT could have ended in such a short time span, but that could just be me overlooking a good way to end it with how it was set up.
He is correct! Davos has a better story than Bran!
49:06 So sad, you truly see the pain in his eyes.
No matter what they all say about the final season, I’m gonna miss this show
Pilou Pilou.
Agreed. I didn't want it to go on any longer but was still sad to see it end.
The elephant in the room was completely ignored. Not enough episodes and D&D dropping the ball. These hypothetical character questions are pure B.S. filler.
Watch Conleth at 28:27 when Liam says his favorite quote.😂
Lexie
We really need to find a more comic role for him.
Conleth Hill is my true king of slay
Nobody knows how much questions I have in my mind

Why...and why?
Now I want to know what was Conleth's favorite line from RuPaul's Drag Race season 3.
"I don't have a sugar daddy, I've never had a sugar daddy, if I wanted a sugar daddy, yes, I probably could go out and get one because I am what? Sickening. You could never have a sugar daddy because you.are.not.that.kind.of.girl. Baby everything I have I have worked for and I have got myself. I've built myself from the ground up... BITCH!"

“If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit down next to me.” - Raja
"I wonder if they talk about us this way."-also Raja
3:14 it's great to see they laugh about the show's mistakes
The cast shouldn't have to sit there and defend the show from backlash- they all did amazing. The acting, production, sets, costumes, hair, music, lighting- was all absolutely amazing. It was the writing that was the problem.
Jamie dying with Cersei isn’t bad. It’s just that the bricks fell right on them and no where else in the room.
All they needed to do was stand 5 feet to the left and they would have survived.
Oh yes, that’s right, dismiss the hate and claim it wasn’t real 😂😂😂😂
I doubt they answer any important question.
