  • Today I'm sharing a thrift flip decor DIY! This is home decor on a budget, at its best! I always LOVE a good DIY project and these are some great ways to take something old and give it a fresh, new look.
Finding budget, home decor items isn't always easy, but it can be with a few extra bucks and a little creativity!
In this video, I share a great Lamp DIY. I then give new life to an old basket and even share a little spin on a vessel DIY you might have seen on one of my past videos.
So get comfy, grab a cup of coffee, and come thrift with me!
Thrifting for home decor is one of my FAVORITE things to do and it's always a fun way to find thrift decor pieces for new projects!
Some of my favorite thrift stores are Goodwill and the Salvation Army. The prices are (usually) very reasonable... which is always a plus!

I’m such a fan of this paint/dirt/sealer diy technique, and now you’ve given me more items to be on the lookout for at the thrift shops! I would’ve never thought to put the mortar on that little garlic keeper, but it turned out to be my favorite!

I recognize your lamp, I have one very similar to your thrift find. That style came out in the 80’s and was part of the Southwest decor so popular then. My lamp has been cream, rust and brown black. I just painted it back to an aged cream color. That shows a textured classic shape stands the test of time. Mine is 40 years old❤️

    • @ValerieAguiar

Definitely stands the test of time! I love hearing things like that, very neat. They definitely are great quality too! Like they always say “ they don’t make ‘em like they used to!” 😉

😉 I had a fatter mauve & white lamp like that back in the 80s too. Periwinkle blue and mauve were the big trends of day. Plus, I had geese with blue bows and blue & white spatterware dishes.

I like using water based stains on baskets. They are so much easier to work with. No obnoxious odor like oil stains and easier to control because you can remove it with a damp rag if you put too much or do more layers to build up the color gradually. Watered down acrylic, chalk or latex paints will work too.
