On my Prius if you unplug the temperature cooling sensor and turn the key to just battery and the water pump will run and you can listen to it. If it’s purring then probably the rotor is good. You will have to clear water pump error code after you plug the sensor back in

EGR valve. it is pain to remove it. once it is out, we can do 2 things to make it easy in future.. first, cut a channel in the low side console hole, so you can pull the egr out UP without removing the stud. The top front stud can be replaced with a M8 12-mm bolt and a 13-mm nut. Drive the nut half way. then tighten the bolt with 12-mm socket. then tighten the nut with 13-mm deep socket. and to clean the heat exchanger, i believe a laboratory bunsen burner can help. drive the flame inside the heat exchanger and the flame and fumes tru the flutes.

In this video u would show a location within the engine bay speaking to the water pump, the sensor, and something under car…..it wasn’t clear exactly what you was pointing out. I was hoping a graphical arrow would point to the part
