This video is way more impressive than the official 10 minute gameplay video we got last week. Driving physics show a lot more better on here, and great to see our first look at a little bit of damage

@Tommy712rus yeah they did, a lot of games did tho and I guess manufacturers just got fussy with seeing their cars damaged. Ruins modern games because if they stuck to building on damage models then most racing games now would have similar to beamNG. Its a shame, especially in a rally game as one mistake can have a big impact and we need that in rally games to be more authentic. But to see a snapped bumper hanging off is back to being a step in the right direction I suppose lol
@@JackTerry87 BeamNG utilize almost all cpu power to calculate those damages, It would not an easy task to insert that phisics in a AAA game to run on a console. And all of this games... have to run on consoles to make money.... this is the pc games problem by years... console keep us at low standards

@@albezarIt's just another term for a Pendulum Turn, a technique where you use the momentum of a car to oversteer in the opposite direction of the corner and then flick it around like a ... well ... pendulum.

Of course it's a promotion, but if you watch closely the car behaviour, it looks very nice, rather realistic and expected. Also the graphics look simply beautiful. So the important point is that we'll enjoy a good rally game
It may look nice but driving at maybe 20fps is gonna be a nightmare even for a simcade. You think that for a promotion they could have given him a more polished version, but if that is what it is, i would be really worried for a game that will be released in a couple of weeks.

This stage was more aggresive and now we saw that the car didn't have 500% grip like in last videos.

I haven't been this hyped to play a rally game since DR 2.0. Really hope it delivers! This footage has me VERY excited. Stages looked fantastic. Car handling looked good. Can't freaking wait until Nov. 3!

I really want to see how he drives in RBR as a gauge to how the physics are in relation to real life. It’s so impressive how easily they control the car sideways through corners. I’ve gotten better at it but it’s hard to judge, especially in Finland. Please EA, give us the sim rally fans have long waited for.

I just hope Kalles driving style isnt just fast IRL, but also in game. Because thats something WRC games definitely did better with the more aggressive turn in driving and correcting.
It's faster because of the sim benefit of not having to fear for your life haha

I think the only thing I’m disappointed is that rally ending crash let Kalle continue the stage, hope you can choose a more hardcore level of damage but yeah, other than that, looking good!
That's a big question mark for sure.
Community Manager mentioned today only two modes: standard and hardcore. Was hoping for more levels so that hardcore would be really hardcore.

Hard doubt. Even when they had hardcore level before it was very forgiving, you could crash 90kmh and continue driving with minor damage
It's pretty expected for me, there's very few games or sims that do realistic damage.

The way he kept a sharp angle on corner entry to maintain lateral grip throughout the corner, is the difference between average gamers like me and professionals like him. An average city driver cannot do that.

Looks like there isnt enough weight in the cars. Not enough to be able to carry the car all the way through the bends/corners sideways. You could see the car straighten up on bends before he expected it to.

He basically attempted to give a statement as to how realistic the game felt to him but with the way he phrased it I am not sure now! 😂

@@classic7376 Plus, they all say good things about the official WRC games. Of course they do! They will not sell the thing otherwise. All nice words and all, yet it's in RBR where we have all the pro drivers playing. Think about why that happens.
@@classic7376 Then again, we have no Rally1 cars in RBR. We have WRC 2.0 spec, WRC 1.6, and the so-called WRC+ spec from 2017 to 2021. Rovanperä did say that the Yaris WRC has sometimes too much grip on the front axle on gravel, and that this causes the car to want to spin on such cases. But Rovanperä said that to Joonas Lönn, who is an NGP expert, as they were trying for countless hours (!) to design a setup for the car that matched the real car. In that context, were they are discussing about outright realism, of course he will say that something is wrong, thus "not like the real thing". But in the context of WRC games, which were always arcades or simcades, "it's just like the real thing" means "it's realistic enough", specially since that will sell copies. Point being: RBR's Yaris WRC is much more realistic than WRC 10's, WRC Generations', and EA WRC 2023's.
WRC cars do have massive grip, but Dirt Rally is still over the top. This is specially noticeable when we lose control over our car, or when real WRC drivers lose control over them. In Dirt Rally, the cars can catch grip out of the blue, and stay on the road quite easily - specially if you slide it. But in real life, the cars start to slide like on ice in ways that not even RBR/NGP can match. In real life, when the drivers get the timings wrong on the slides (they get on the throttle wrongly, or balance it badly), they just slide off the road. Here are some examples:

Gravel is inherently slippery. A metal mass that weights a ton and a half and is driven at a speed will definitely slide on the moving materials of the surface. Suninen said that you need at least 100 km/h to not spin the wheels on the gravel. And there's no black magic nor engineering that can avoid that as of today. This is a big reason for which the drivers go sideways! Putting the car sideways definitely creates grip, even though not to go faster, but to slow down the car and pull it towards the inside of the corner with confidence. When they fail to slide the car appropriately, the cars slide as on ice as seen in those videos.
That said, RBR/NGP has almost perfect grip for me. I'm more and more convinced about that. I believe the onboard perspectives ruin the feeling of speed for some reason, probably due to the graphics - because the external footage shows on-point grip levels and dynamics. For example, the left corner and the next right corner at 06:24 look slow, and when driving it feels horrible - but at 12:27 they look as they should, as I'm used to see from real WRC videos. And what about this? czcams.com/video/F3DmBmaaxSc/video.html. That is pure grip. My style is inspired by Tänak's style first, and by Rovanperä's second. Compare the dynamics and the car's body language with onboards from them. My ability at RBR/NGP is all coming from analizing real-life's WRC onboard videos, over and over again, to exhaustion.
[Yes, that sounds as if I'm able to do what they do IRL. I'm not! At all! What they do IRL without any practice is incredible, and Rovanperä and Suninen left us RBR players in awe on the Discord server when they picked RBR on stream for the first time, and they were straight-away faster than us.]

In final release you should add option of realistic car damage. Why? First for e-sport challange. It would be more challanging for professional e-sports players and be a more realistic of course .

Hallitsevana mestarina olisin itse ainakin loukkaantunut pelin tag-linestä: "Like racing but rally", mitähän vittua ne tuolla tarkoittaa? Kyllähän ralli vaatii enemmän taitoa, keskittymistä ja kaikista tärkeiten munaa kuin minkäänlainen ratakilpailu.

game looks nice in that crash your car should be too damaged to continue......i so wish realistic car damage effect it makes driver make more decision how fast you want to try drive.....looks like in this game same as always you can take all the risk whit out fear to go retire/race is done
Of course there's issues with damage because manufactures don't really like to show their cars all messed up and broken, Codemasters can do nothing about it, they have to work with what they allow them to do, some damage but not as much as dirt rally 2 our other games, this is a WRC licensed game after all...

Feels off, looking at 1:04 for example; the car doesn't flick into oversteer nearly as violently as it does when watching others play now that the game is out, and the cars surely don't roll around and vibrate as much as is seen here as he's pulling out of the turn. Wonder just how dumbed down the game really is now in the name of accessibility.

If an actual rally driver rates the physics as very good, and quite transferrable muscle memory and such from real life, then I think the game will be pretty nice to drive. A bigger sample size from more rally drivers would of course be better, but that's not always possible.
Even though its Kalle and i believe, he as a finn and hes overall character to be someone that does not talk bs, i fear that there is still some marketing speach there. Even if it is, its probably quite good and realistic like he said and not off by miles.

I've played now few hours the new WRC and I'm very, very glad! The vide's here did NOT show, how good it looks on my playstation 5 actually. Starting, of course first driving the legendary MONACO icy roads - the handling of the car is quite the same as here in Finland in winters, so...BE VERY CAREFUL, when going up on those curvy roads as the temperature gets colder!!!
- The masters of codes, was very good at this time also, like The Dirt Rally, which is my favorite rally game also.
