    Thanks a million, this video saved me from continuous nightmares waking up seeing my heating switch off by itself.
    Very annoying but having watched your video multiple times. I have now understood and can set and reset my device manually without stress.
    Thanks 🙏 and I hope many frustrated residents finds this helpful as it’s the best for me amongst all others I have watched 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

    Thank you so much for a superb video explaining how to set up this unit. Can fully comprehend what you are saying/demonstrating. Having tried to follow instructions in the manual....just gave up and threw my arms in the air in dismay! Your down to earth easy to follow instructions and soothing voice gave me the confidence to set my RT500RF unit functioning correctly!! You are a star kind sir :-) :-)

    Thanks for posting this. My 90 year old Mother has one of these, she keeps getting the neighbours in, to sort it out. She's convinced it's very complicated. I couldn't be bothered to read the book, even if she could find it. You've shown very clearly, it's simple, thank you. Good video.

    Hi. I am looking for a bit of advice, we have Combi Boiler which is controlled by a Salus RT500RF Remote Thermostat, where you have to set 5 temperature times a day. The issue we are having is, as we have young baby we would like to keep the heating on a low temperature all the time. So for example, if we want to be at 20c throughout the night, we are setting the 5th time of the day at 20c and the first the following morning at 20c. The problem we are having is that if we drop below 20c, the boiler powers up and the heating comes on, when it reaches the required temperature it goes off again, as the temperature then drops below 20c, the boiler then powers up and the heating comes on again. This cycle keeps continuing and it continues to come on and off throughout the night to maintain that temperature. As the boiler is in a cupboard in the baby’s room it wakes him up every time it powers up. What we would like to do, is completely override the Remote Thermostat all together and just have our heating like one of the old fashioned wall dials so we can set it at a constant low temperature all the time. Just to add also, we cannot control the heat of our individual radiators, we do not have the 1-5 knobs, we can either have them on or off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Its an ok unit. But the programing system is a faff and a half.
    And the biggy is that if anyone else has a rf thermostat nearby it has a nasty nack of trying to run on someone elses damn settings! And changing jumpers on the thermostat and reciever doesnt work as it works on a narrow rf band for almost everyother bit of radio gizmo on the home market. And that drives you mad enough to want to take a mallet to it

      Mary Dimbleby Hi Mary, unfortunately what you wish for is not possible with this or most other programmable thermostats, the only way is to change it for a wireless room stat ie Salus rt300rf

    If you are going away for say two days and you don't want it to keep coming on and off, what do you recommend I do? With the old programmer and thermostat all I did was turn it down to 12c and when I got back I turned it up to 19c if that was what I wanted at the time. But this thing if I turn it down to 12c when I leave on the first day it will stay that way until the second day of the 2 days away from home, but it will go back to 19c for the next day when I am away and really want it to still be set at 12 degrees C until `I get back. I feel that I was sold a pup and really should have had a NEST system that I could use remotely and manually.

      If you heating switches on randomly? You may be getting interference from another unit, there are switches and jumpers on the back of both units change the frequency by removing a jumper and turning of the corresponding switch

  • @darrenjones2435

    Are these prone to misbehaving? Even though my last program is set to 5 degrees at 11:00pm it keeps coming on during the night! I've reset it a number of times and changed the batteries. Any ideas?

    • @freedomheating9315
      @freedomheating9315 Před 3 lety +2

      Hi
      If it comes on randomly, some one near by is using the same frequency, change the jumpers and switches on the back of the sender and receiver to a different channel, that will stop it,

    What setting do you put the analogue clock to on the actual boiler... Is it On or Timer on a mt10 mechanical timer? Ta

    • @montylemar
      @montylemar Před 6 lety

      You should have replaced the analogue clock on the boiler with the Boiler Control unit which comes with the RT500BC and paired them so this timer control unit controls the boiler.

      They are not paired as such, they use a combination of jumpers and switches on the rear of each unit, the switches and jumpers must match each other, factory is all jumpers attached and all switches up 👍🏻
