The cables mounted from the hood to the roof are called limb risers. Big in the Land Rover community, as you're going through tight trails, they guide tree branches and brush up and away from the windshield.

I was wondering what those are used for.
A lot of Jeeps around my parts run limb risers. Those anchor points could also be used as a tie down for a kayak or other things hauled on the roof.

I was just watching the regular Santa Fe video, thinking: "looks cool but it's not an offroader, therefore it's not cool". I barely finished watcing as this vid popped up😂
They need to make this a reality and not just a concept

I actually like Hyundai as a brand. LOVE my 2015 Genesis. Fiance has a Santa Fe. This looks the part. But it may be the last car I think to buy to drive off road.
I feel as if Nathan seems more interested in SUVs and trucks then cars and crossovers. Just feels more enthusiastic when talking.
Interior design and its quality is another step up for the whole industry.
Many Korean reviewers are pointing out about its material quality has been bumped up and not they
are acutally concern about its price.
I am not big fan of the rear tailgate design, I know why they did it but it reminds me a Ford Taurus 25 years ago.

That would be cool. But the XRT Is generally meant for light trails. If they toss in the 8 speed DCT the transmission will overheat when you lose a small degree of traction.
Pretty, but the same old crappy Hyundai suspension behind those AT tires. Don’t expect anything like what Toyota is putting into the new LC/GX.

It looks fantastic. I love that matte copper color. It's clear Hyundai put a lot more thought into the design of this than the Land Cruiser, which has some serious shortcomings, like rear passenger and cargo room, and cargo liftover.
The difference is that LandCruiser is actually going to have off-road capability.

Side profile looks great with the lift and larger tires!
With those tires this vehicle would have 1" of suspension articulation and the widest turning radius on the planet.
That thing certainly looks badass. Whether it comes to fruition and becomes a competitor in the off-road segment remains to be seen.
KIA and Hyundai always tease these things but never release them. Just like when the Telluride was announced, they showed of some off-road versions but they've yet to release them. I wish they would though.
@@erikholum4772 I wouldnt rely on them for it, but it plants the idea of a good ORV buy. For example, zero legal trails where I live but tons of offroad beach driving. Wife + 3 kids cant stand going to a beach where you have to park, walk a 1/4 mile over a dune and down a beach while holding a 3 year old, tent, cooler, beach chairs ect as its alot. So, i added a lift/tires to her 2018 Grand Cherokee and now she drives several miles out, peace and quiet, and can just dump stuff out of the jeep without carrying anything. Next buy must be a 3 row as the oldest are almost teenagers, needs ground clearance and a rugged look to make the wife happy. Id lease one of these in a second and just add some 32-33" tires and a spacer lift and it would work perfect for us and want that setup even more after seeing this. Plus i had a feeling those silly handles were going to make good accessories mounts.
It won’t flex and if it doesn’t flex, it can’t do anything off road more challenging than a gravel driveway.
@@van_mod1 A bit dramatic, no? It would still get to a lot of places a stock vehicle wouldn't. Yes, it's not going to do as well as something with real lockers, 35s, solid axel, etc etc.... But people aren't buying them for THAT extreme of off roading. I'd like one for logging trails that aren't maintained anymore, dunes, MOAB (easier parts obviously) etc.
If Defender and G-Wagon had a baby!! This version of the 2024 Santa Fe XRT is bad ass!! I love how the Koreans is pushing the envelope in style and technology! Just to think their technology is pretty much on par to $80-$100k Land Rover. And it cost nearly half the price! Innovation is the game with Hyundai/KIA/Genesis. Job well done!

Those wires are NOT to secure the roof top tent Nathan. They are to re direct brush up and over the truck to help protect vehicle ànd gear

Holy Moly Donut Shop, that thing looks nice! Smart move on Hyundai with the XRT branding on current models. Setting up the new gen models that hopefully will have the capability. If Hyundai dealers honored their warranty, this would be a total 🏆
Dealers always honor factory warranties. As long as they can get the manufacturer to pay up. The dealers basically have a captive customer who is obligated to pay the ridiculously high dealership shop rates.

This is how I’d want this vehicle!
the holes on the side can allow for great 3D printing customization, you could print "docks" for basically anything on that, like speakers, storage compartments, maybe make it a place for your toolbox, great addition!

I would definitely buy one of these if they weren't so expensive! Beautiful
$45K tops which puts it $10K cheaper than the base LC. Lots of gimmicky stuff to justify that price and not enough to make this thing last more than 100K miles.
I hope they make it. But I want to see a hi/low transmission and beefier axles that what's provided on the other versions.
I would buy one. I've already been treating my santa fe like an off road vehicle. I've replaced the whole front suspension system twice but I love fishing and camping too much to care.
Twice? I think that says a lot about how serious Hyundai is about off-roading.

Can't wait to see upcoming XRT. Please "Part time 4 wheel drive with real locker." will definitely get one with the "MATTE" color. Beware Rubicon, Bronco, GX 550, 4runner, and Landcruiser.
Now that is it.. the Lift totally transformed this vehicle.. before i was 50/50 now I'm convinced.. this new platform was meant to be lift it looks good.. one gripe is that extra wide center section needs slimming down.. we gave up a manual hand brake for that no thank u..

All these accessories need to come out, we just picked one up last night.
Definitely a concept vehicle… That’s going to need wider fender flares (or extensions) for tires that width, or else it’ll fail many state inspections. Also KBB estimated the XRT trim around $38K, but I’d find that very hard to believe. Equipped as shown you’re easily pushing $10K in options…
Limb risers are not for rooftop tents…. lol
If this vehicle is actually coming out, it will be worth the wait. The power plant will be the determining factor for me to buy one. Btw, the roof top tent tie down might be limb risers.

This is better than the mall cruiser version from yesterday. Hopefully they build a nice no frills version of this like the Land Cruiser 1958. Those tires look like they barely fit in there. 😁

I put this in the same boat as the Bronco Sport. Just another boxy unibody SUV trying to pretend it’s an off-road machine. I can just imagine the clauses in the warranty related to off-road use.
That's the coolest Hyundai ever built. Please build it. The first one I thought "i'd buy that!" (and replace the H headlights)
I would say that climbing that ladder a bit would scratch the hell out of your rear hatch
The ladder is the first clue that Hyundai doesn’t have a clue about overlanding.
Ground clearance is usually about the transfer case (aka pumpkin) and not the body side sills. Guessing they had a nice open bar at the event.

It needs a trasnfer and lockers to make it a offroader. All the places that thing can go I can make it in my honda. Lol

I’d happily buy a Santa Fe XRT if it comes to the market over anything Ford or GMC have to offer, a Jeep, Range Rover and Land Rover.

I would buy it IF
1. It has real skid plates not that carpeted carboard they use right now.
2. Differential is not made out of butter
3. Can tow at least 3000lb
4. It's within Hyundai price range.
If i could afford 4 runner trd i would buy that.
It has to be capable to actually do some offroading without getting damaged.
IF they actually bring a XRT to market it will be about the same price as a new 2023 4Runner Offroad. ‘Nuff said…buy the 4Runner.

If they build it they will come. I do think they need to give it a proper off road transmission with locking diffs.
Stick a centre or rear locker on it and cover 95% off all touring requirements.

Kia Telluride was teased with a fancy off roady concept. Nothing came out of it. I would not hold my breath for this (other than an appearance pkg w black accents + running boards)
Kia actually did make some changes to the Telluride X-Pro. They swapped out the 20in wheels for 18in with more off-road oriented tires, raised the ground clearance by 1in, and increased the tow rating to 5500LBS. At least Kia is trying unlike Hyundai.

Nice concept but the production model will most likely have most of the looks mated to an AWD system. 4WD? I doubt that will even be an option.

You better be aware when you buy a new Hyundai and need it serviced, the dealerships service departments are telling people they are months out to get you in for service and then when you drop it off, they are telling people its up to 5-7 days before they look at it. So you will be without a vehicle for a week or 2, that's if your vehicle is under warranty. It took us more than a month to get a oil change. Some dealers are telling Hyundai owners if they didn't buy it at their dealership, they wont service it until next year, So if your car breaks down and wont start, Hyundai wont repair it, if they do its 8 months out. The deal is they are selling more vehicles than they can service, so if your new vehicle breaks down, you may be without your Hyundai for a months. That's in Austin and round rock Hyundai in Texas.
