    Good video. My 94 was gifted to me by my parents in 2006. I still own it and it has evolved over the years!

      I’ve got an 02 Sport 4x4 SOHC 5 speed manual. Do all my own oil changes/repairs. 204k on the clock and counting , no timing chain issues yet 🤞🏽

    I've got myself a 2001 ford explorer xlt 5.0 awd with a double to single exhaust straight pipe with the 2 front cats still intact. The back 2 step cat were deleted and it has a aftermarket intake paired with a 1st step tune making about 340 hp. I love this truck. My next mod is going to add a 2in lift and slightly taller all terrain tires.

    My first car was a 2002 explorer. Coming from a family with nothing having a car at 16 changed my world I’ll always love them. Looking at a 99 rn but I don’t really want another manual car

    Absolutely adore my 2008 Eddie Bauer explorer. After losing my beautiful 06 Mountaineer. I had to get back into that style car.

  • @brycealonso

    Would you guys say the 97 5.0 AWD was any good off road

    • @willywiggly2385
      @willywiggly2385 Před rokem +1

      The 2nd gen awd I believe had a version of awd but it's more of an automatic 4x4. So yes. They're good off-road. Not as good as straight 4x4 but better than true awd

    What year did they start using timing chains in the front and rear of the engine? I'm interested in a 2000 4.0, but I dont want it if it has front and rear chains.

      I think it was 2002 the 4.0 six cylinder engine was not good. The timing chains had plastic guides I believe that would break easily. The older models with the 5.0 V8 are work horses and just keep going if you maintain them I have a 2000 with 180,000 miles still running great with original transmission too. No one can bad mouth them to me lol
