    how do you remove the connector in the door crease (where the loom plugs into) mine is corroded

  • @pkiv2108
    @pkiv2108 Před 2 lety +3

    5:40 most people open wrong way these connectors. You dont need any tools to open these. Twisting with screwdriver you probably damage the connector locking parts. Right way is to push the connectors tighter together, and then press down the narrow part at the end of the connector which release the catch and pull the connectors apart. I haven't needed any tools to open those after I was told how to open them right way.

    Any clue whether the harness is the same in the B6 and B7 models? Outwardly, it looks like it, but I really don't know.
    (FWIW: When I look up window switches (something that plugs into it) on ECS, it shows that the B7 one is not compatible with the B6 (and vice-versa). Not sure how accurate this is, though, or whether it is even relevant to the harness.)

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 4 lety

      Hey there! Yes, the physical parts of it are the same between B6 and B7 so this guide applies to both. There may be wiring differences between B6 and B7, but physically the construction is identcial.

      No you will be fine with most processes. You can always disconnect just the negative battery cable if you want to be doubly safe.

Thanks for great video, +sub

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 2 lety

      Yes, it's a definite possibility. You have have a wire that is in the process of breaking due to constant movement. It's fairly common, but not usually too bad on this platform. Worth a visual inspection for sure. Hope that helps! www.paypal.me/totaltechnik

      Hey there! Yes, the cabling inside the door card does vary depending upon the options you have on the car, so that part sounds normal.
      Does it fail to lock or unlock, or both?
