There's so much the media could be doing to inform the public. For instance, that a 10% tariff on Chinese goods doesn't mean they get less money. They get the same, but the American has to pay 10% higher price, and since the US government gets the 10%, it is a tax on the American consumer.

This is incorrect. Cost of goods does not translate into retail consumer cost. Also tariffs aren't universally applied so equivalent goods from other countries create competition thereby squeezing margins on goods from tariffed countries. There is no such thing as free trade and there has never been... Tariffs are a way to equalize the playing field.

A conservative relative of mine asked me to record Trump's speech on the TV because they were out of town. After I heard how long the speech was, I went to the recording and fast-forwarded to see if the system got the whole thing (it didn't). As I was going through, I saw a chyron about building an Iron Dome and watched this section in disbelief (if not surprise). I then rewinded a bit and watched some more to try and figure out who the heck Trump was claiming was shooting missiles at the United States, and I got nothing. As a military geek, I find it difficult to emphasize how little sense this proposal makes.
I also thought it was odd that he kept referring to someone in the room as "Governor," given that the governor of Wisconsin is a Democrat, so thanks for clearing that up, Chris.

When he started talking about a US iron dome I got chills. Is he saying that maybe the US needs to start taking a better look at Canada and Mexico? On a regular basis, he makes non-factual claims while threatening and/or insulting all who do not bow. There is nothing to "follow through" with such actions because this a democratic nation well known for not going along with what he is actually trying to be.
Follows through with nothing because there has been nothing to follow through with from the very beginning. As I previously mentioned, based only on what he himself states on recorded audio/video every time he is recorded or posts to "social media", and nothing more even though there is a whole lot more involved.

Chris, congratulations on your reading of excerpts from Trump’s speech. This should be done more often, and printed in the papers as well. I have often done this exercise myself of trying to read and understand a transcript of a Trump interview or speech. No kidding, it's hard, because it's complete gibberish and it hurts your brain trying to understand how/why Trump jumps from one idea to another. But it shows, much more plainly than the televised version, that the guy's mind is completely shot. He can't string one sentence or idea together, he's half-demented to put it kindly.
