I am impressed how much the original finished cleaned up before painting, the steel wool really did a nice job.

I'm getting ready to do this for a set I'm putting on my daily driver 73 Regal. Bought them at a swap meet in Vegas for $100. I'm using Wheel pint on mine though, I want them to last more than 6 months before I have to do them again, just because they are going on a daily driver doesn't mean you use inferior product,. My daddy always told me if you do it right the first time you won't have to do it again.

Which clear paint did you use? I have a set of 914 steel wheels that need to be painted.

I used Restolum Clear if I remember, Ill check tonight and let you know for sure.
