If you're rocking a Samsung phone, get a Samsung Tag (instead of Tile). They've proven to work much better and are less expensive.
Totally agree that Tile is largely pointless (I've bought about 6 of them). They've only helped me find my keys inside my own home (happens more than I care to admit). Samsung Smart Tags are just awesome (if you have a Samsung). I even tracked my suitcase through the airport. No comparison. Smart Tags are much much much better, but you need a Samsung. If you have Apple get an AirTag, if you have neither then you can only really use Tile, or buy a cheap Samsung just for the Smart Tag!!
Really useful video save the tech kit...big Ziploc freezer bag and individual Ziplocs give you water proof, clear organization, packaging flexibility and lower costs.
OMG the Power Donut! (*runs to Amazon*)
Great video! We love our Tile Pro tags. We travel alot via air and ship. It's nice to track the bags and make sure they are with us on board. I will be ordering the round hub, that is a great item.
Great video. Love all this stuff. thank you!
great sharing ! thank you
Great video, Nick! The noise-canceling headphones and Bluetooth transmitter are perfect for long flights or just vibe outside the house. Thanks for sharing these awesome Amazon finds 😃
Super helpful as always!
I've been aware of the Mogics Bagel for a few years and almost bought one. If I needed to take a regular plug then I would definitely consider it. But my solution was to simply move all electronics over to USBC (or USBA with a tiny adapter) over time. Now I just take a small USB wall plug that can charge everything including my laptop.
Cool video! Glad to know Epicka is always your travel companion. The reminder is beneficial for all people who plan to travel to different countries. 😃
I just bought myself a Connect Air on your recommendation… looking forward to trying it out! I can also vouch for the Sony cans: best set of headphones I’ve ever owned.
I have the Bellroy case and several of their products. All have been great quality and travel well.
Great stuff!
Great tips for my first trip to Europe in 2024!
Just used the Connect Air last week and it works great! Wish I could’ve used your code when I bought it!
I own both the Air Pods Pro Gen 2 and the Sony XM4s and love them both. Air Pods are my go to for working out (Gym, Cycling, Jogging, etc) but the XM4s are much better, and my go to, for public transit (planes, trains, etc), just be sure to keep the firmware updated on both. Love that you covered a Bluetooth Transmitter for IFE, I don't use Connect Air but I use the AirFly Pro by Travel South and it works great for when I don't want to have my phone out or mess with my tablet or laptop. It definitely lives in my travel bag. The Power Donut is also a great product, especially while in a Airport Lobby or Lounge.
OMG - I did a spit take LOL. Was watching while checking email and heard my name. Had to back it up to be sure it wasn't a trick! My update on the Mogics isn't the best though - the UK prong in the adapter broke off. Now it was due to me stepping on it while extended (like stepping on a lego - ouch!), so not surprising it broke. However, that prong is somewhat delicate so be cautious.
Haha, I hoped you were okay with me mentioning you! Great info on the UK prong. I am so impressed with this thing!
A must have is short 25cm 90° angle USB-C cables which allow you to attach SSDs, batteries, and other devices tucked next to or under laptops.
I discovered the Bluetooth adapter about 2 years ago an absolute essential and bought it from uk Amazon
The epika converter I have used in India fine no problems
Something you usually never hear on travel tech videos, but its always been clutch for me is the Google Chromecast Device. Majority of hotels have wifi but unless you are staying at an expensive hotel, their TVs are more than likely not fully smart. With the chrome cast you can log in to your regular streaming apps without putting your login info on a hotel tv. Plus is such a small device that it doesn't take any space at all!
Love that recommendation! When traveling full-time, having a simple hdmi cable with us was very handy.
Loved the look of the MOGICS Donut but it only accepts US plugs. Problem solved for me from Australia, the MOGICS Bagel accepts AU, EU, UK and US plugs!
Yes! I probably should have shared that one instead.
There’s a bagel?! 😂❤❤
@@alexwaynemiller - and a Super Bagel with USB-C, which is what I have.
A review on Amazon said the Epika TA 205 was great except it had an issue in the UK.
My cpap does not need a converter. Just a straight adapter works fine. At least itnhas for me in Portugal, Switzerland and Italy in many different stays. Just fyi. And wait, what? The regular tile certainly does have a replaceable battery. It is a watch style battery and inhave been using atiles for years and have replaced the batteries multiple times.
Recommend also the chargers from ugreen, unitek, essager or anker, that charge rapidly via multiple usb-c/usb-a and u change the tip for different countries and you dont have to take the adapter and chargers to travel light and efficient
I really do not like the universal adapters. I bought a bag of European adapters from Amazon for less than $1/each. They are smaller and lighter as well being able to use them in multiple places at the same time. I prefer using a separate USB charger, mine is six port and will provide up to 65w (enought for an ultrabook) out of the top port.
Nice video
How do you pair your headphones
A lot of planes do not have a single 3.5mm jack to connect to their entertainment systems (often the connection uses several pins), so I am not sure that the Bluetooth converter will work in such circumstances.
u pho got to add in a powerbank lol..that the most important tech carry on
It would be helpful if you mentioned the prices.
The profound influence of this material is evident. A book I read with similar insights was an enlightening and transformative experience. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
I'm glad that Tile has increased its range "up to 400 feet," instead of the previous 250. Still, that's nothing compared to an Apple AirTag, which can find your stuff even thousands of miles away as long as (if I understand correctly) it's in bluetooth range of an Apple device. I hope that the Tile folks can eventually come up with a method similar to AirTags.
Yeah as I understand it, it's really all based on the size of the network. There's just so many dang Apple devices. Tile's network can't compete in that regard.
I thought apple tags work with Android also just not the exact direction notifications
@@dovfriedman921 I definitely could be wrong on that, though I can't test it since I don't have an Android. Hopefully someone who has tested AirTags with an Android device can chime in here.
@@chrisrobinson3980 it seems it will work but only sort of and not on the regular apple app but one that google created to see the tags around you so I would avoid. The question is do the tiles work well with luggage like air tags? I want to buy them but thats what I need them for
🎧 👍
I like Tiles for items that don't leave me (e.g. keys). We've used it for wallet recovery and found it less than helpful, but our wallet was eventually found. My daughter lost her Tile from inside a stuffed animal at CDG and the Tile was never recovered. I'd say they're pretty hit or miss for locating items and I wouldn't trust them to locate lost luggage.
Not sure if the Tiles still work like this… but they at least used to work by having the Tile app open in the background. The amount of passive iOS devices absolutely out numbers the amount of Tile users that keep the app open.
If Tile still works like this, they are not very useful for locating luggage.
It is the same for airtags if you travel to a location where iOS is not popular.
Just get the plug you need then just get an extension cord
Why noise canceling
Just regular head phones with music is just fine
Those sony headphones - avoid. The headband has known issues.
270 dollar for a sony is not premium price??? come on
They are all just to expensive for what they are
3:34 " If you're headed to India, Nepal or certain other parts of Africa..."
Neither India or Nepal are in Africa, but in Asia.
Agreed Robert - I had mentioned just before this moment that the EPICKA works in "much of Africa". Was not saying India or Nepal are in Africa, rather that, there are certain parts of Africa (the parts that use type M) where this won't work. More info on their site.
As a guy that travels as a professional airline pilot I have to say your suggestions are pretty f*cking GAY.
