You are a perfect example of what the church is made up of. Your Christianity is fake, a counterfeit. It is the Godless worlds christianity, not the Bibles Christianity. You have all been deceived. The government didn't say to shut down. They could have church, they just had have 15% of the congregation in the building. SO? Have 2 or 3 services (2 services in the morning and an evening service) to accommodate everyone... like everyone else in the world is doing. This was unnecessary and embarrassing to us Christians. The word says we need to obey the governing authorities because God put them in authority. Romans 13:1,2 To disobey them is to rebel against God. The Lord isn't pleased with this at all.

Answer: For the unbeliever, the fear of God is the fear of the judgment of God and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God (Luke 12:5; Hebrews 10:31).
For the believer, the fear of God is something much different. The believer’s fear is reverence of God. Hebrews 12:28-29 is a good description of this: “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.
There is a difference between a healthy fear of God which is out of love, reverence and respect versus an unhealthy fear of God which is prejudiced and misrepresents His character

Erin, loving, rational and clear gospel presentation. Well spoken. If every pastor in Canada took the same stand as James I believe our constitutional rights would be upheld. I recently spoke to a senior police officer on the Toronto police force who stated that 90% of his department neither believe the COVID-19 narrative nor approve of the lockdown measures that have been put in place. Perhaps some law enforcement people could take a stand as your husband has, risking their jobs and reputation.
