Appreciate it sir. When mine take a dump. I'm gonna replace it too with a dorm fridge as well. Now I know how.. I had dorm fridge in my old 2019. And it's more room, more convenient, and cheap to replace. By the way.. How is it with the dorm fridge and the optimized idle and the factory inverter? Blow any fuses pr inverter resets??

I installed 4x interstate batteries from Costco in my 2016 cascadia whem i got my mini fridge w separate freezer compartment. I've started carrying a portable 3000 watt jumper starter w me just in case.. Ive left my fridge, just like the one on this video on for 48hr n the truck still starts. My inverter is just a 2500 watt inverter, but if u look at the fridge specs. It only a 700 watt i believe. The compressor is not on all the time, it works harder when its 70+ outside since the truck does get warmer on the inside. My inverter n most have a auto disconnect ranging from 12.3v-12.9v.
The inverter will disconnect/turn off the fridge to save my battery n keep enough juice to fire up the truck at 12.6v. I havent tested it for more than 48hrs. I usually just keep wut i am going to use, emty the fridge/clean the fridge n disconnect it by hand 95% of the time. I do leave paper towls, kitchen towel in the freezer part as well as the middle shelve were water will accumulate so there is no mess when it thaws out. There is another video here where a guy installed a mine fridge n he says leaves his fridge on all the time. He did put child safe clips on the doors to keep the door from swinging open when turning.

As a company driver, I wish I could've taken it out. It takes up a ton of space for not a lot of room inside the fridge.
Exactly. I hated that small fridge. Having the bigger one is so much better. They should just order the trucks without the fridge

It’ll stay if you keep the plastic piece on at least one side. It won’t slide

No. It’s just a wire connection back there. Just unplug it

Did you use a power drill and what’s the name of the kit with the T40?
I had no power tools boss. I’m not sure. I won it in a raffle years ago.

I left one side of the plastic so it’s wedged. The flooring stops it from moving forward
Did you install a different inverter or use the build in inverter?
I didn’t change the inverter I left that alone.

Any chance you could give dimensions of dorm fridge you put in. I have one that I had in my 2019 freightliner. But my 2022 came with the same one you took out. If this one I have would just slide in, that would be great. Please let me know. Thanks

Truck comes with a inverter already. They had the old one hard wired into the truck so I plugged it into a surge protector behind my microwave.

I took one side out. It never moved. It’s pretty much wedged in there

@@LifeOfKOi can see that the door scrapes the floor on the fridge part. In my 2016 cascadia, both doors have swung open. I got 1st choice cabinet locks on it. I wanted to prep it off the floor a bit so that i dont have to crawl to get to the bottom cabinet. In my 2016 cascadia. The fridge sits on the bottom shelf so its about 18in off the ground. I will c wit i will do w this one i might make a laundry type pedestal. Thanks 4 the video btw.

How you desconected the wireless from the fridge to the tractor?
It’s just a plug. I disconnected it.
Is your inverter always on having to plug it in instead of it being hard wired?
Yes it’s always on. I have a apu though

I couldn’t tell if your TV was above the new fridge (between & microwave). Did you have to relocate the tv mount? Did you plug the Whirlpool into the outlet near bottom of bunk. If not how did you power it?
I powered it behind the microwave to a surge protector. The tv I relocated in front of the door. I opened the mount all the way out and added my tv mount to that one since my tv is a 40” and it fits perfectly there.

That bigger fridge is definitely clutch. 👍 I’m using a portable ICECO brand Dometic cooler/freezer for extra fridge space allowing me to bring more perishable food, but it takes up space in front of my bunk. A larger fridge like your Whirlpool would achieve the same thing plus I free up space in my bunk area. I’m wondering if you got a rubber mat maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch and cut it to fit the footprint of your fridge to go under it, if it would act as a noise dampener plus it would elevate your fridge just enough to open the fridge door without any friction?
Possible would work. I like it that way. My old fridge use to swing open when I was driving. This one I never have that worry.

Yes. I believe you can fit a 32” right there. That’s what that mount is made for up to 32”
