I'm glad he mentioned tapering the splice right at the end of the video. It makes a much smoother splice that doesn't catch on things, especially on with a short splice.
the hand movements are far too fast when it needs to be seen where u r at in the lays when deciding where to insert the strand. each set needs to be shown for 5 seconds so one can become oriented,
