Pete Waterman gives us an insight into the first PWL Kylie album KYLIE and talks about the contents of the Kylie Collector's Edition Box Set released on Monday 9th February 2015...
By popular demand, PWL and Cherry Red are delighted to reissue 'KYLIE', the classic 1988 debut album from the undisputed princess of pop, KYLIE MINOGUE. Digitally remastered from the original studio tapes, this reissue marks the very first time the album has been back in print in the UK since its original release.
'KYLIE' was originally released in July 1988 and went a record-breaking six times platinum in the UK - then the biggest-selling debut album ever. Produced by the legendary Stock Aitken Waterman team, the album features the classic hits 'Should Be So Lucky' (#1), 'Got To Be Certain' (#2), 'The Loco-Motion' (#2, US #3) and 'Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi' (#2), plus the Japanese #1 'Turn It Into Love' and the US Top 40 hit 'It's No Secret'.
The COLLECTOR'S EDITION: A limited pressing, this lavish, heirloom-quality LP-size box set is the ultimate must-have item for the dedicated fan and contains: o A unique picture disc vinyl LP of the original 10-track album in a special die-cut cover. o A remastered and expanded 2CD and DVD set in individual deluxe card sleeves and a special slipcase. o A souvenir fold-out poster and set of six memorabilia postcards. o An outsized 48-page book containing many classic images, discography, full lyrics and new sleeve notes.
'KYLIE' is reissued alongside the three subsequent PWL albums 'Enjoy Yourself' (1989), 'Rhythm Of Love' (1990) and 'Let's Get To It' (1991). We're very proud to step back in time and celebrate these classic records and the early years of Kylie's music career.

Very short, cold, limited comment, could be also a comment of anybody who worked at a records Shop in England back in the eighties. This is one of THE records of the 80´s and one of the greatest ever of PWL.
I was expecting you telling me something that was never ever exist in the press before.
And you telling me: we've been worked hard on some mixes?
You didn't even know about some mixes they have ever exist.
Well, Pete did not wrote a sigle note or a word, but took ⅓ Money out of it. He actually forgot that Kylie was in London, Mike and Matt made it happened. Pete Lied in his book that he´ve been co writing the lyrics with Mike via fax. A typical ridicules lie to make himself involved in it. Pete did his work as a PR man. He did a lot. So he should be so lucky being able to take money out a job he never actually did: he is credited as as co- song writer, co- producer, co-arranger and co- composer. ⅓ equal. Well, after all, well made Pete!
Matt Aitken never said that he did things you did. Same with Mike, they both were credited for what they done.
At least you were truly in love with everything what Mike and Matt did. That was the best you could do. You were crazy about all of it, the question is - how could you ever let Matt in 1991 and Mike in 1993 go?
2 Men who actually written produced and arranged every single song you took ⅓ part of it?
It is NOT the 90´s killed Stock Aitken Waterman, it's you!
Never change the running systems, Pete, and you changed them at the End of 1989.
Still, wish you all the best, you are a great music maniac, without you it hasn't been possible, you pushed them 2 really hard, you had that nose that could smell a talent, you launched PWL - that's enough to feel good and be a part of it. No one of you 3 has been such successful before or after. It´s really sad, that you guys - and especially you, the boss of PWL, didn't realize that. You could easily keep it going for another 10 years.
    God bless you Pete.
