Hi There! My name is Brian Lonano, Director of such short films as "Gwilliam" and the film you are watching now! If you have any questions, leave them here and I'll do my best to answer them! Thanks again to ALTER for giving my weird short films a home online!
I have a question!❤ What is the best horror short you've directed in your opinion? ❤
@@RA3ven.wednesday While I think "Gwilliam" may be the best horror short I've directed, I have a soft spot for a short I made before Gwilliam called "CROW HAND!!!" But it's very hard to pick a favorite. I love "CONTENT: The Lo-Fi Man" as well. And I made another spooky short film called "The Transmission" that was a lot of fun.
@@atrailerinthewoods I wouldn't say Gwilliam has cursed humanity forever. Rather, he's been put on this earth to give.
Loved every nod and Easter egg. Thanks!!
Okay I love this movie it is beautifully twisted just like "Gwilliam" LOL that movie was sick and twisted and I loved it!! I love everything about this movie though even the intro how it's all 80s and stuff it makes me remember those midnight horror movies when I was growing up in the 80s
This short film reminded me of low-budget movies made in the 80s, with synthesizer music in the background and mutilated bodies dripping with blood... 🎥🍿😂
Thanks a lot! We love low budget filmmaking. It's not always polished and it brings a hand made quality to the filmmaking.
It was extremely fun, good job!
@@XaBep81🙏
Hence the name lofi.
That felt like meeting up with a high school friend who was also catching up with his college friends.
This was so cheesy that it was good 😂
Fun little film! Visual entertainment has changed so much thanks to corporate greed - it's important to support local and indie creators, filmmakers and musicians; they don't do it for money, they do it because they're passionate about it.
The Mickey Nazi was hilarious and on-point.
Thanks a lot! I know our films aren't as polished or seen as cheesy or campy but we love making them!
The best way to make good movies and content is to make everything a passionate work of art
I agree and I hope that came across with our film.
@@brianlonano It does! ❤️
Art comes from heart and passion for being creative! ❤️
Regards one set designer /& builder and almost an explosives expert who loves and supports diverse art 😉👌
I’ll never forget my Gwilliam.
He won't forget you either.
I hope you do forget. I hope I forget, too.
The Mickey Mouse ears are not lost on me. Nice touch
I love his transformation scenes and the music is spot on. 👌
Thanks so much! The transformation scene was a lot of fun to shoot. We set up in a garage, put up some c-stands with duvetyne as the black backdrop, blew fans and had two fog machines going. It was really hot in there but the footage came out so great. And my brother Kevin, who edited the film, was also shooting Super8 film while we're shooting digital. It was probably my favorite shoot day of the production.
Thanks! (Music guy here) That transformation piece was of course inspired partly by Tetsuo Dance (I only wanted to do an homage to one thing from the Tetsuo soundtrack and that was the one) and I also drew inspiration from the artist Author and Punisher, IMO one of the most interesting musicians out there at the moment. It's called Spiral Staircase and is my personal favorite thing I did for this soundtrack. -Mark
@@brianlonano It was just so emotive/intense and interesting. A complete metamorphosis, blew me away! Bravo! 👏
@@VerticalDisintegration I’ve not watched Tetsuo in so long but certain parts are burnt into my brain. You did an amazing job, it was a perfect homage. Well done! 🤘🏻❤️
Thanks so much! My brother Kevin, who edited the film, did such a fantastic job with that sequence. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!@@RaineSophiaLewis
Idk what’s more hilarious
The girl in green getting her arm ripped off in a ridiculously hilarious cheesy b-roll horror movie fashion or the fact that she uses her ripped off arm as a selfie stick for her phone 😭💀
Not enough Tsukamoto love out there, so I appreciate the work.
It’s better than “Tetsuo: The Bullet Man” 😂
I agree. I still have to see "The Bullet Man" but recently got the boxset ARROW released and am going through the titles. Tokyo Fist had a lot of cool filmmaking in there. But nothing will compare to "The Iron Man."
Haha fair enough@@Down_the_Wind
Yes, 80s, action, some thrash, japan, tetsuo and more... great!
"From the people who brought you Gwilliam".....*closes tab, throws phone into shredder*
Awesome! Caught this at the Florida Film Festival and was really hoping to see it again.
Thanks so much for watching it again! Florida Film Festival is my favorite place to screen my work. I love that theatre! Were you at the Enzian screening to the one at Winter Park?
@@brianlonano I was! I love the Enzian. I moved shortly after that so that's the last time I was there, but hoping to come out for the festival again this year.
This was actually a lot of fun.
I disagree, this Was a lof of CONTENT
the transformation scene was spot on to Tetsuo
Thanks a lot! We did our best to emulate Tsukamoto's iconic film. It was fun shooting on super8 film too!
@@brianlonano the iron man is my absolute favourite film. I lost my shit earlier on my lunch break when you mentioned it, then spent 45 mins with my colleague explaining tetsuo 😅😅
Nice! Tetsuo is such a fantastic watch. I love its handmade quality. You can feel the heat and sweat in that tiny apartment when watching it. It's always inspiring to keep going with filmmaking.@@stefancass401
I don't even know what the word content means now... it's like repeating 'frog' over and over when you're reallllly high.
I love this movie all the way from the 1980s style intro all the way to the end it is a twisted beautiful movie.
What a message! I'm sure you had fun making this...😂
It was a lot of fun. And it was a lot of hard work too. I can't thank my co-director Blake Myers, my brother Kevin who edited the film and all the cast and crew for helping make the film possible.
As far as I am concerned, you have created a masterpiece with this short film! Magnificent the robot, magnificent the lo fi man, magnificent the tribute to Tetsuo. Great everyone, even the soundtrack!
Thanks so much! We love robots and practical effects and wanted to have an awesome robot for the lo-fi man to do battle with!
@@brianlonano and it shows! Great work indeed! When he died I felt terrible! 🤖
We did too. We spent one day filming the scene where he melted. His head had fireworks and flammable goo shoved into his head and we filmed it outside and at a distance for safety. We filmed the robot's head melting in real time against a green screen and then sped it up in post and composited in a background of the exterior location.@@PrimitiveInTheExtreme
@@brianlonano I feel like crying...
Our robot did not die in vain. His sacrifice contributed to the fight for cinema!@@PrimitiveInTheExtreme

I'm guessing the thrift shops and the surplus outlets were always happy to see you guys come in!
Very much so!
Thrift Stores, Garage Sales, junk piles, things left on the side of the road and key pieces we had stored in basements and closets.
I bet that was crazy fun to film
Quirky minds create wonderfully quirky films…what can I say? 🤗💖👍💁🏼♀️💐
CAPS!!!
Bravo again folks
Cheeky and cool!
Thanks so much! CAPS was such a fun place to film. I'm so grateful they allowed us to film there.
Very original. seen a lot of horror/comedy movies coming out recently dealing with this same thing, but no one has created one so unique. Felt like it was made in the 80s of what social media/internet would become now. The music was spot on the entire film and I really enjoyed the special effects, which weren’t too cheesy or over the top. I could definitely see this being an episode on black mirror! I need a t shirt now that says be content with content 😂
If "thrown together anything" was a short movie. This would be the poster child😂. Just bad😂
Really liked the atmosphere of this short reminding me Moonrise Kingdom
Ladies and gentlemen give it another 10 to 20 years and this will be the World that we all Die In lol
We can never give up the fight for cinema!
@@brianlonano hell no never do it because you guys make movies that are better than some of these so-called big budget movies that ended up sucking 3 legged goat ass... Gone are the days that I will always treasure of going to Blockbuster or video zone and getting some delightful cheesy amazing horror movie from the 80's... But awesome directors like you are bringing that feeling back for me and I love it. Thanks
You are too kind. Thanks so much for the kind words!@@Lord_Taron_Texas
Suddenly fires and tsunamis sound a lot better 😂😂
@@lily-mo2gc I wholeheartedly agree... Just knowing some woke vegan turd with entitlement issues it's going to have their hand hovering limp wristed over the red nuclear launch button should scare everybody alive at this
Yikes! Let's hope y'all don't get sued by Disney 🥺
My man Gwilliam XD That's an epic one
Very grateful so many people enjoy Gwilliam. Thanks for watching my new film!
There was a moment where I thought to myself... where's the skip button!? 🤣😅
Everything annoying about CZcams content creators encapsulated in a couple of minutes.
Love your short films
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy them!
this guy made me think of if Elvis the Alien and Chris Stuckmann were meshed together lol

That was fun!
Glad you enjoyed!
Has Red Letter Media seen this content ?😂
I would love them to! I definitely had "The Nerd Crew" in mind when I was working on the first portion of the film.
That body horror scene oh my incredible starting at 10:40 so good
Thanks so much! If you haven't seen it already, check out "Tetsuo: The Iron Man." It's body horror at its finest! It's what we're paying direct homage to.
what a trip ..... + great reference :)
Thanks for checking it out! The film took us 2 years to make and we're so happy to premiere it online finally!
excellent acting fr loved it a lot!
Straight up.
I'm quite familiar with the original Tetsuo, but this reminded me more of the music video for Billy Idol's "Shock to the System". 📹
That's some goooooood content. ☺😋

I actually watched tetsuo. That movie was interesting
Was that Pauly shore?
This one is a lot better than gwilliam. This is pretty good 👍👍😅
We're all a little dumber for watching this, and for that I thank you.
Skip the beginning and start at 10:30 you're welcome
The acting was not up to standards lol
Very cheesy 😂

Alter... The goofy crud can stop. The truly well-done, artistically beautiful shorts are getting lost in a sea of mediocre fodder. Quality over quantity, folks. How disappointing
What garbage has graced my eyes today?
This short film
As long as we were graceful when gracing your eyes with garbage.
Over, unnecessary content
Tell me you have zero ideas, without telling me you have zero ideas...... lmfao.......... This is trash
I wasted 13 minutes of my life here
Since the film is almost 15 minutes, that means at least 2 of those minutes weren't a waste of your time!
Don’t give up your day job.
Actually having a day job allows me to make films like this independently. So I will definitely take your advice!

Not a fan of this at all. I’m surprised Alter allowed this to be on their channel.
MORE PLEASE!!!!!!!! Love, love, LOVE this. Perfect balance of humor and creep, along with the eerie familiarity of the platform we are watching this on. This is some clever shit, for sure.
