Man, I remember for my 40th bought a ride in a P-51. Couldn't get that grin off my face for a few days. Would love a ride in a jet someday.

That had to be a blast for Grizzly. My all-time favorite aircraft is the Beech Staggerwing. My best friends chipped in and got me a flight in one during our EAA Chapter 4 work at College Park MD. airshow. It was a total surprise to me. I had been drooling over the one at the show all day. My attention span was minute the whole day. The owner came up to me at the chapter booth and said to me "Are you ready go flying?" I said to him that I could not afford the flight. He just looked at me and said my buddies had paid for the fuel and to get my butt over to the plane so we could hit the sky. Never forgot that experience and how selfless my friends were that day. Sadly, only two of us are left out of our crazy foursome. We were inseparable. I hope Grizzly remembers this day for the rest of his life. Moments like this are priceless. What a great opportunity larry presented him with. Great guy!
I've had the pleasure of flying two Staggerwings with two of my friends who were the owners. Both of them are gone now but the memories are just like yesterday. Those are my favorite airplanes.

@@thomashudgins996 I'm glad you enjoyed it. They are fabulous airplanes. If you ever get a chance you should visit the Beech Staggering Museum in Tullahoma, TN. Staggerwing serial #1 is there and so is the Travel Air Mystery Ship which started it all. Many other Staggerwings on display there with much memorabilia from the Beech factory.
That was a ride of a lifetime! Griz you deserved every second of that!

You might as well be flying with Bob Hoover the OG test pilots he's one of the last not afraid to let the plane do what it needs to do not afraid to get a few bumps and scrapes. Legend... oh and after the adrenaline rush will definitely make you want to sleep. What happened to me after my first skydive

Grizzly's first ride in a jet at Reno. A fantastic gift Jimmy and the L-39 pilot. My first ride was in a Piper Cub, J3. I was 7, a birthday gift from Dad. I was hooked on flying after that. Dad was a WWll pilot, and got the DFC. My first passenger after getting my PPL, my Dad.
Jimmy, how did you get "hooked" on flying and airplanes? I think that would be an interesting story.
My first plane after getting my PPL was a C-152. After that, I bought a Bellanca Super Viking. I had to upgrade my pilot skills. If you don't know, it was a 300HP , 4-passenger, retractable. I had to get my high-performance rating. That was fun.
A C-152 story. My girlfriend and I went to Vegas in the plane, fun trip. Going there was cool, I had a tailwind. Coming back was different, headwind. Cars on I-15 were passing us! Honey, I need a faster plane. So, the Bellanca Super Viking. Jimmy, you like speed, I agree. The Bellanca did 170 Knts at cruise, I was happy with that. That's my story. I hope you enjoy.
That was awesome. It's nice to have people who appreciate the accomplishments of others. Y'all do things that most of us can only dream about, and I definitely appreciate Y'all making me feel like I'm a part of Jimmy's world. And Grizzly, I was grinning right a long with you, buddy, like a kid in a candy store. Happy trails, guys.

Yes ! Thank You Larry! Grizzly has watched Jimmy fly and always stayed on the ground. Now his reward is from Larry and I know Jimmy had something to do with this once in a lifetime ride in a combat jet. Well deserved Grizzly, and thanks for keeping Jimmy safe by your active due diligence, engineering expertise, applied to Jimmy's questionably acquired aircraft collection.

Great job, Jimmy. True Friends are almost impossible to come by. It's been my experience, that if you can make 'One' true Friend in a lifetime, you have accomplished more than the vast majority of all mankind. Seems like you and Grizzly may just have done the impossible. Two thumbs up.

I got a ride in a Polish Iskra 30 years ago. It was an unforgettable experience. That was a great thank you to Grizzly for all his hard work.
I was lucky enough to get 2 back seat rides in an F-15. I was a mechanic at Luke AFB in the early 1980's and received 2 rides one of which was over the Grand Canyon. It was great to see a dedicated mechanic get the ride of a lifetime. Congrats to Grizzly. Salute to you Jimmy for setting it up and to you Larry for sharing your airplane with a deserving maintainer.

That L-39 is such a cool airplane, but fellas, it's a Czech airplane, not Russian. They were part of the USSR so Russia used them, but they still make them today I believe, and made in Czechia. The Czechs make some great products, I have a few of their pew pews which I absolutely love. I'd give my left you-know-whut to get that experience that Grizzly got. Hats off to him for everything he's done!

Your video came across my feed and I had to watch it. I'm a 21+ year vet of the AF. (1981-90) and reservist from Feb.2003 to Jan. 2015 and my job was Crew Chief on (in order) Bitburg AB. Germany 1979 model year F-15 C/D, Nellis AFB. NV. F-16 1979 models C/D and finally (2003-2015) 1984 models KC-10A McGuire AFB. NJ.
I still remember my first flight in the F-15 and by the way it's my Favorite aircraft of all time but before I joined the AF. I did build plastic model airplanes and the F-4 Phantom was just a kick ass looking jet. and that's what got me hooked I think. anyways back to my story. It's like all first times they will always be stuck in my memories, I also got to ride in the f-16, and many, many many flights in the KC-10 and I felt just like Grizzly did when he first got to sit in the cockpit and feel the engines roar to life and each stage of afterburner kick in and the thrill of the speed along with the rolls and feeling both positive and negative g's. nothing quite like it. I don't miss my old job as a crew chief but the flying is where it's at.

So cool getting to see Grizzly getting to do something else than the usual hard work. Huge thanks to Larry for giving him a ride! I totally enjoyed seeing him on the plane, with that mix of emotions between totally enjoying it and not quite sure if this is actually good. 😄 I guess I had a similar look on my face when I got to ride in a helicopter for the first time... next to where should have been a door but there was none.

Worked at an airport, (County) Then joined the Navy as an AMH/AMS on the P3 Orion.
On our way to Goose Bay Labrador, the PPC (Pilot Plane Commander) let me sit in the Pilot seat for 5 min. Aircraft was on Auto Pilot , but still a cool feeling. 4 turnin 4 burnin. Landed in Goose bay at dusk sitting behind the pilot . Way better than cool. Miss the old birds. Unfortunately my squadron was decommed in 1991 and 7 of 9 aircraft were scraped. Damn shame
I love the look on grizzly's face , horror, don't touch red controls, hands and arms not just folded but, with death grip on the harness, I don't know if I could have done that. Nice part he was telling about tearing up his other jet right before going up, grizzly got some big brass ones! LOVE THE FEED , THANKS❤
