    MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CAN ALSO CAUSE THIS ISSUE, REPLACING IT WILL HELP IN SOME CASES.

      I just had a clutch replacement in my 08 mustang gt and I’m having this issue
      My check engine light is on with a 02 sensor code
      Do you think it could be a bad O2 sensor?

      @@louisphilippe8418 they may not have hooked the sensor back up or possibly pinched the wire. I would start by checking to see if it is even hooked up. I've seen o2 sensors unplugged alot after transmission work done.

      Turns out that the stupid mechanic that did the job for me plugged the O2 and a few other sensors backwards
      I couldn’t believe it when I found out
      Now the car is running perfect

      @@jesseskinner3496 I have an 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3. I’m experiencing transmission issues and sometimes gas smell through my vents. After high rpm’s my check engine light would start to blink and then quit as I step off the accelerator. It’s hesitating and jerks and 1 and second gear work fine no hesitation at all. But when I reach like 40 mph, the check engine light would start flash and it’s trying to shift into 3rd buts it’s not. I replaced coils, spark plugs, coil harness, tested spark plug wires and they are good. The code is p0300 random misfire. Next step is to bring into transmission shop. Not sure what is is.

    I cannot stress this enough to all of you guys experiencing strange throttle responses, or backfires. Especially if you fix something that was a problem over a few months in duration. When it involves throttle, fuel, spark timing these are all monitored by the pcm, but adjusted in the keep alive memory according to changes in your vehicles engine environment. Just because you changed that malfunctioning sensor or spark plug that was screwed etc doesn't mean instant harmony it could take up to 10 drive cycles for the pcm to slowly change the tables in the KAM, that is why it is so important after anything involving fuel, throttle, air, or spark to reset your keep alive memory and go through the relearn process I have posted as replies throughout this thread.       @@Picklepowder disconnect your battery while leaving your doors open for 20-30 minutes. Or if you have an X4 tuner you can reset your KAM from the vehicle options.

    Okay so my 2005 mustang 3v was doing the exact same thing & I kept watching this video coming back looking at the comments & turns out I went to Summit racing & got some new spark plugs & when I was taking my spark plugs out most of the 8 were dry ash so I put the new ones in & my car drives perfectly with no hesitation , sputtering or nothing so it could be some of y’all’s spark plugs. & Also I clean my air aid air filter so I know that helped also 💯💯 I hope this comment helps someone 🎉 IT CAN BE BAD SPARK PLUGS HAVING YOUR CAR DOING THIS.

    I've had this problem myself but worse and so have others. So.... start from back to front.. 1 empty fuel. 2 change fuel filter. 3 add sea foam to clean fuel system. 4 check and or change spark plugs. This completely fixed mine. Might do a mass airflow sensor cleaning too if you want. Wouldn't hurt. Also the spark plugs on these cars have a tendency to back out over time even with factory torque specks. Check them regularly.

    After any sort of work involving ignition or intake you need to reset you keep alive memory (kam), you can do this by leaving the battery unhooked for 15-30 minutes with your doors open or using an sct tuner you can reset the Kam. Then once clear make sure all electronics in the car are off, put the emergency brake on, start the car let it run until the car as at running temperature, next turn on your ac full blast for 2-3 minutes, after that take the car for an aggressive 10 mile ride. This sets the stages for long term and short term fuel trims as well as throttle response.

      I'm having the same issues as this guy. I have taken my car out for drives and it just gets worse each time.
      I'll try your method today and disconnect the BBC story and leave doors open (why is that important leaving doors open??) I'll fire the car up for 5 minutes and turn on ac for the 2-3 min. (Why is that important to turn ac on??)

      @@alfenner3309 leaving the doors open while the battery is disconnected will discharge any current that is in the system, thus resetting the computer to its initial settings, you could also leave headlights on. Running the AC for 2 minutes changes parameters in the engine idle/flow causing the adaptive computer to make changes sooner than the normal 5 to 10 drive cycles, you should see, feel, and hear a difference in 1 to 3 drive cycles.

    I have an issues mines a drift build with the 4.6 yes same 3v and everything but it warms up and it starts to miss fire or on my two step too idk if it’s clogged injector or

    So you fill the tank, but what was the final fix result of this? When you have driven the tank level lower???Did you done other fix?

    In the owners manual usually under the transmission section it will have instructions on how to reteach the transmission. With my 02 Ford E-350 V10 any time that the battery is disconnected from the vehicle when you reconnect you have to go through these specific steps or you will just keep having problems. Your first drive after doing any repairs should be 10+ miles so it has time I that first restart to go through all the functions and save that memory

      That’s how my problem started any things you have in mind because for me the initial problem that I had was when I added a CAI it would throw a code and have some safety feature that would slow down the car on its own because MAF thought the car was breaking which is the code it would throw but the fix to that is disconnecting the battery but I got the light to go away from the battery but it continues to sputter and have jumpy acceleration reducing performance

      @@masongress3364 yes it ended up being spark plugs, which don’t have code sensors so it was throwing a code for an ignition coil which I had changed all of them and it still continued and I changed my spark plugs which are under and it fixed it ended up having nothing to do with the CAI

    So i have an 08 gt and every time i drive it, it limits to 3k rmp for every single gear for example from first to second it only goes up to 3k rpm before engine gets loud and i shift and so on for all gears and idk what is really wrong with it

    I have had a misfire under acceleration off and on since I bought the car. I decided to look at the plugs and they were the wrong plugs. I put a set of the right ones in and it runs like a new one.

    I have 03 gt bought the car misfiring heavy with the engine shaking a bit. I change sparks,coils, injectors engine no longer shakes and mis fires lightly, works better but still lose acceleration when going past 45-60 😭 I guess I’ll try fuel filter n cry if doesn’t fix it 😢

    My 05 mustang has this problem, my mechanic change spark plugsand wireset, ignition coil, fuel filter, air filter, and still have the problem, he says he's going to remove the intek 😥

    just had this issue with my 05 ford ranger edge with the 3.0 v6 it was mass air flow sensor and the IAC was stuck open. i tried cleaning it but it was just not functional. o an oil change with some restore helped a lot. now my truck feels like a truck

    My 3.8 mustang when I start it every other time sputters won't stay running unless I reb it up and down. After runs then it is o.k

    In my case, 2012 odyssey, I had a misfire and sudden rpm drop. I checked injectors, coil packs, plugs etc, everything and could not find the issue. On a suggestion from a friend I put a bottle of HEET, and viola issue went away. Turns out I had water in my fuel. Anyway just a suggestion to others to start simple first before troubleshooting the harder stuff.

    Just got my 08 mustang gt fixed. It wasn't the throttle body or the pedal sensor. Turns out the throttle body harness had a bad pin connection. A tie wrap fixed it. It would lose power and wrench light would come on then engine light comes on. Sometimes you could just turn it off for a minute or so and it would drive fine for a few miles then go into limp mode again.

      I had a similar situation but with mine it was one injector connector had a broken tab so it wasn't staying fully connected. Sometimes it's the dumbest things. In owning this car though I love it and would never get rid of it, Ford as people say can do better in the area of creating long lasting plastics throughout their vehicles. The plastics from the interior to simple things like this seem to break so often. Fortunately, they put so much effort into quality engines and design because some of the materials used other than the engine are not always made of the best

      Mines is doing this also more so when it's low on gas or im turning or going around a curve but when accelerating it will bogg out don't die but it won't let me accelerate with out jerking I'll have to turn the car off and rear or take my over drive off sometimes helps without turning it off we've tried everything could It be a weak fuel pump?

    I have a similar issue with mine, starts fine and idles perfectly and runs great past 2500 rpm no power at all from 1-3k rpm past 2500-3k it lights up and takes off. I have a cai and a exhaust on it with a tune. I’ve changed the spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter and no changes also I’ve noticed when I’m shifting into different gears the shifting became notchy so to speak and has gotten progressively harder over time to shift. I’m assuming maybe a clutch issue because it shifts great when the car is off. If anyone has tips on these 2 problems let me know asap

      What’d ya end up figuring out on that fam. I got a crown Vic with the same shit, that 3/6k is rowdy as hell but then it’ll shift an just bog out.

      Fuel rail pressure sensor changed it car ran good for a month and then started doing same shit again the fuel rail pressure sensors they're selling are faulty only 20 bucks bought 3 of um changed 2 so far but car still runs

    My 05' mustang was sputtering and misfiring for a couple weeks.
    Turns out it was my fuel pressure sensor...... however I also replaced my cold air intake at the same time.
    Unfortunately I didn't screw the clamp tight enough and the same sputtering and misfiring continued.
    Realized what I did(didn't do) being in a hurry.
    Anyhow...... tightened the intake securely and everything is perfect now!

    Same thing happened to me. I have a 2008 v6. Replaced my fuel pump three times last year. Bought better gas, fuel treatment, new alternator nothing fixed it. Harsh start check engine light and idling was weird. It ended up being my fuel rail injector sensor. Was like $50 on rock auto

    2012 sputters like a machine gun if I hit the gas hard around 45-60. Check engine started flashing and then went off and ran fine. However it still sputts but not as often. But definitely when accelerating hard. It won't do it anymore. I'm being told it was water in the gas but I've ran 3 bottles of Lucas through it with a full tank of 87 then 89 and then emptied it and threw another Lucas in it and filled up with 93 and it still does it.

    My guess is you had a clogged injector. A code wouldn't likely come up.

    My car is doing it too but on the idle, and it stutters when I try to drive it, I changed the transmission Bc I blew it, but when I changed it it still did the same. It was sitting for 4 months. I changed the fuel filter, the oil, and put 92 gas and still nothing. Any help?

    I have a 2009 v6 every time I start the car it will backfire and sputter sometimes even shooting flames out exhaust but it losses almost all power I changed spark plugs and mass air flow sensor and nothing changed it has a bama tube on it but I can’t retune it due to tuner being broken unsure if it needs a new to or just has to re learn how to not do this I’m going to do everything in this video and see if it changes

      When using tuners every so often you have to go in and return them. Not sure of that's the issue but it's a friendly tip

    I have a similar problem with an 02 GT that started just before the fuel pump died. Replacing the fuel pump got the car running again but I still get occasional sputters when aggressively accelerating from stop. I cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and IAC not too long ago. I changed the fuel filter at the same time I replaced the fuel pump. The spark plugs were replaced a couple of months ago also. I just replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor. I did fuel injector tests also. No joy. Air filter is clean. The problem still crops up time to time and I've noticed that cruising at low speeds isn't smooth. There are no misfire codes or any codes at all. Live data doesn't give me a hint as to what is causing the problem. The car seems to have adequate power otherwise. There are no vacuum leaks. This is frustrating. Fuel pressure is usually good but sometimes it has gone to 50+ PSI. So many things can cause this problem so it'll take some time to track it down. I was hoping that this video would point me in the right direction.

      @@johnlennon3094 If they are, I don't have any of the symptoms that are presented in youtube videos. There are no codes. But, they probably are bad because an IR temperature test on the inlet and outlet shows the inlet temperature higher than the outlet temperature (but this wasn't listed as evidence of a clogged cat).

      @@johnlennon3094 We don't do emissions testing in this state so I could delete the cats - but I'm not going to. I'm going to get a back pressure test kit even though I don't expect to be using it a lot. I'm reasonably certain that I don't have clogged cats or mufflers since I can get to interstate speeds and the engine will rev to 6 grand. Anyway, I realize things will start breaking after 20 years but if it's going to end up being a money pit then I'll have to look at replacing it. I've had to replace the radio, the fuel pump and an alternator so far. The rest were the usual maintenance items like tires, batteries, and fluid/filter changes. I replaced the plugs and some wiring harness connectors (since they didn't snap securely into place on the coil connector). I did some modernization by installing LEDs, sequential tail lights, grill delete, shorter antenna, and chin.

      @@genericdude6551 so far ive spent about 4k on my 06 mustang i got ive been restoring it i also had an 01 that gave me the same problems yours did i replaced the gas tube and this tiny filter and the problem went away also a radiator flush and a tune up and it was running well after did you fix your issue

    Mine only starts when pressing the gas pedal and it dies if I let go . Idk what to do . Has new spark plugs cables fuel injector filters and even the pump . I don't see any vacuum leaks . Even the egr valve it's new .

    So! O2 sensor is actually a chip in the computer… I just had a guy in Florida repair mine and the chip for the transmission

    I need serious help with my 2010 mustang I have total of 14 codes with my car my car would run most of the time and drive fine other times it would start and then shut off by itself I already have a new alternator on it

      @@Dwilll did you recently have your motor out or replaced? Also I have heard of this craziness happening in 2005 and 2006 models due to rain getting into the passenger side fuse board in the cabin, but thought it was fixed going into 2007.

    I have about same problem. All research leads to fuel pump which is under the back seat. This didn't start until I ran to empty. That's a no no. Will update when I get the new pump in Tuesday. Changed fuel filter and gas didn't look good. Research shows residue from old gas tank when ran on empty. Just a tip for yall

      @@abdulmoez1272 I found out that the spark plugs have a tendency to back themselves out and even though I put in new spark plugs not long ago most of them were fouled. Put in all new spark plugs along with fuel filter before that and runs great. I now check to make sure spark plugs are tight weekly. They will back out over time.

    Cold start jumps up to 1200rpm then instantly boggs down and dies cleaned air intake manifold redid the gaskets because at first i thought i had a vacuum leak… throttle body is clean and so is maf sensor have yet to change fuel filter but before i replaced the coolant line under the intake manifold it ran like a dream now i have so many problems can anyone help?

    Man I got the same issue mine is misfire at 3k rpm but mine started after I put new SR aftermarket coils I'm putting back the OEM coils now.

    Ok I took the car up to the dealership they checked everything they say nothings wrong obviously somethings wrong it give me misfires from cylinder 1 or 4 I have a Ecoboost 2019 it’s been doing this for a while now I just want this fixed they checked the fuel injectors nothings wrong I changed the spark plugs nothing if I down shift or doing a roll it gives me a lag and the check engine light comes on it like stutters like it’s my turbo stutter or something trying to respond it’s a new turbo on it I don’t understand pls help pls

    Injectors where clogged new filter maybe pushed Injector pressure higher which then unclogged jectors

    IF YOU HAVE POWER ISSUE
    Just something to add as all the 4.6 have limitations within the throttle, below 3000k you will not have full throttle
    And over 3000k you will have about 75% of the throttle maybe little more
    So if you did all of that and didn't feel power increase
    Get your car tuned you will really regret all the time you have been under ford limits.

      People who say these 4.6L 3V’s are slow have not driven one with some bolt ons and a good tune. It’s a whole different car from stock then. If you return to stock from a tune the car will feel noticeably slower. I know because I tried it once before.

    My 2001 v8 gt is doing the same thing, I’ve replaced alternator, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pump drive module and still having this same issue car feeling like it’s bucking while driving, my next steps would be spark plugs, coils, and fuel injectors, I’m hoping that will fix it, if anyone has any suggestions please lmk thanks

      Update i changed the coils with a fresh ones , still has the misfire i think one of my injectors is stuck open as i have one black plug on cylinder #7 (all plugs are fresh with no miles).

    I have code p061b and I realized I put in 89 octane instead of 91, could this be why? Stuttering like a bitch, of course I didn’t realize until after I used a whole tank of gas drove it like a maniac too .

    Bro same!! I have cyclinder misfire with my odb scanner. I CHANGED IGNITION COIL AND ALL 6 SPARK PLUGS AND SOMEHOW ITS WORSE WHEN BEFORE IT RAN JUST FINE WITH CYCLINDER 5 SPARK PLUG COMPLETELY LOOSE. LIKE WTF

    I see I'm not the only getting my ass kicked with the same issue. I changed the fuel pump which was in the tank. CRC the throttle body. Changed the barometric sensor twice. Changed a coil and spark plug which was barely misfiring. All with no check engine light on. 4 diagnostics check , 3 saying it's the transmission which I'm not accepting. Changed the filter and fluid. All this with no change. Also cleaned the maf sensor.

    Bro look cyclinder 5 misfire. So i decide to change all 6 spark plugs and ignition coil bc P0316 code. And PO305. And somehow the engine light flashes now i also changed my oil .. i just watched this video the guy had the same problem and that it "fixed itself" like wtf??
