      Scotty Kilmer I have a 97 Accord that got rained on and drowned a little. I changed the crank position sensor then it worked. However, now when I drive the car, it doesn't go past 3k rpm and at 75 mph it feels like the engine is kicking me back. I changed the spark plugs, oil and oil filter, air filter and did a complete tune up. The check engine light turned on as well showing me the p01361

      Scotty Kilmer hey scotty I was in traffic so I was accelerating and stopping as usual with traffic. My car after a while starting hesitating and then the engine seemed to turn off. Turned the vehicle back on and it would do the same thing. Then started accelerating sporadically when I hit the gas pedal. Temp gauges fine. Check engine light started flashing. I eventually let it cool and drove it for another hour and 15 with practically no problems. Any idea of what this could be?

    Last year I started having this issue. And my car completely quit starting.
    Mechanic kept the car for 2 weeks. He Changed literally every sensor. He literally said he couldn't figure out the issue. Car still wouldn't crank. He fixed the oil leak I had at least....430$ invested...
    But we got it towed to my dad's body shop. He checked my plugs. I literally just needed new plugs. Like 32$ And 30 minutes, it was fixed.
    Needless to say we haven't sent anything to that mechanic again.

      @Jonathan A
      Yeah. I was knew to driving and didn't really understand the signs. So I didn't know. But after got it back, my dad said he started thinking the signs seemed like the plugs. Sure enough, cylinder 1 and 4 plugs were done for.
      Simply got new plugs and wires for all 4 cylinders. Done lol

    • @Roller76
      @Roller76 Před 4 lety +28

      @Jonathan Actually the mechanic used his head enough to rake in $430 and I bet the supposed "replaced sensors" are the same ones that were on it. Probably just cleaned them. An honest mechanic wouldn't have replaced sensors because its obvious it was an ignition issue; fuel, air, spark.

    Love your youtube. I come here for any questions I have about my car. Recently my car was stuttering, engine light on so I had my mechanic tow it. It said it was the spark plugs had worn out and he replaced them. The car was good to go. When I picked it up it wouldn't start, when it did it was stuttering. Down the road the engine light came back on. Now he says its the coil pack that he replaced in the car three years ago. I only drive the car to work so since the replacement I have only added 20,000 miles. I'm here again to see what the deal is and I did get charged $45 for the computer check...the first time. I've replaced the coil pack twice in 12 months. It has four coils in a row mounted on one unit, and this sits directly on top of the spark plugs in the engine block. The spark plugs were changed about 9000 miles ago, along with the fuel filter and other usual filters. The full exhaust system was fitted in September 2013. Engine temps are fine but naturally fuel consumption is terrible at the moment. Diagnostics were carried out earlier this year when the second coil pack was fitted, and no errors were present. There is no dash warning light on at the moment either.
      The first was a cheap brand (HAAS) and lasted only two weeks. The second was a recommended top brand (BERU) and that lasted about 500 miles. My car was driving to absolute perfection up until December 2014, but since Jan 2015 it has been hell to drive and at times extremely dangerous indeed.

    • @Y10Q
      @Y10Q Před 7 lety +6

      just becaue he made it look simple on video, doesn't mean it is simple. That coil was covered in coolant. That car will probably come back with a blown head gasket. It is a 5.4l piece of shit engine.

    I was getting a P0302 error (cylinder 2 misfire) and my car was riding rough and sluggish. I changed all my spark plugs and the error was still there. I swapped the #2 ignition coil and #3 ignition coil and the error changed from P0302 to P0303. So happy to see it switch and easily fix the issue quickly and cheap..... I originally thought it was a faulty or clogged fuel injector as I put a stethoscope on the fuel injector and it sounded inconsistent but the bad sound was due to the bad ignition coil.

    My Lincoln Aviator was shaking badly and had very little power. So I put in new spark plugs and that didn't fix it. My dad then gave it to his friend and said it was the coils four of them went out! My v8 was only running on four cylinders lol. It's gone now but once we fixed it it drove amazing.

    Thank you!! I thought so. A short & spark plugs need to be replaced. Haven’t checked but the maintenance guys in my apartment complex laugh at me when I’m working on my 95 Buick park ave. I’m gonna find a place somewhere else to work on it. Where comfortable & put ALL my tools in my truck. Can you believe they laughed & said, “oh, ok” you need to reboot the car’s computer - it worked & even beeped when ALL power drained needed a jump & took 10 mins just to repower. & IT WORKED no problems since!!!

So i decided to go ahead and change out the sparks, all the filters, changed out the oil, timing belt. Just the basic stuff that probably are worn out. Now, when I drove on the highway I notice there was some minor hesitation and jerking when I accelerated 60 km/hr up. What do you think is the problem?
