    • @LS-xs7sg
      @LS-xs7sg Před 2 měsíci +18

      That is not objectively true. People were more materially deprived in the past and did not have the same rates of crime. It isnt simply a question of people not having money.

    I lost my “normal people” view of London some 15 years ago - having worked and visited since 1988.
    As I always met ordinary people, I sensed how things were changing for so many from austerity measures and “new government”.
    That change has (is) occurred across the OECD, but NOT for reasons incumbent politicians point to. Being incumbent should mean that _they_ themselves are responsible, but that time is long gone.
    Corporate power is simply outgrowing democracy. The nonproductive wealth of The City overshadows the economic agency of councils, boroughs, families and local communities of my beloved noisy London.
    I haven’t visited since Brexit - and neither Tories’ scary video nor their appalling attitude to their own diverse people make me feel as welcome as I once did.
