- Apex Legends New Heirloom Changes In Season 21 Under Fire with Apex Legends Season 21, Respawn Entertainment is adding the long-anticipated option to customize the heirloom. Yes, you will be able to make your heirloom look unique with a ton of customization options, but there’s a catch. The customization options are not unlocked by default and are not free. Apex Legends is bringing a new currency called Exotic Shards into the fold. You will be able to purchase Exotic Shards from the in-game store or earn some of it from the Premium Battle Pass. You can then use the Exotic Shards to unlock the customization options you like.

Seriously, it looks ugly. Also it’s such a terrible weapon design, someone can easily disarm you and I feel like swinging it would be awkward compared to a normal sword or revenants scythe, etc.

The cost of all of it is a disaster and the fact people still buy it is worse than an actual train wreck.
You got people with the mindset that a heirloom has lots of value to it because of how hard it is to get but what they get confused is buying something is different then grinding/working for it cuz when i see someone with a heriloom i assume they have the money to buy one or dont know how to properly spend their money rather than they're good at the game

2 Unique inspect animations for each legend
They really half ass them and made expensive just because they can such, shit execution
They should've made these collection events rare and unique only for collabs around lets say once a year or every 3 seasons, but they are milking it dry and no one will pay to get screwed
The problem is that they will pay, the majority will, wich will keep this going for a long while and make it worse, some peoples shouldnt have the permission to have money
@@federicoleonardi43small correction - with these kinds of systems they actually don’t expect the majority to pay, they’re relying on a relatively small number of whales willing to spend a LOT.
Just as an arbitrary example… in order to match one person willing to pay $300 for a cosmetic, they’d have to find 300 people willing to pay $1 for a cosmetic, which is honestly a really hard ask.

I really don't feel like Respawn spent alot of time making these Katars like they do with Legend specific heirlooms. The animations are so incredibly mid, every Katar has the same animations, and some of the customization looks fairly cool admittedly but not cool enough to replace legend specifics. This feels like a quantity over quality situation

it’s basically like the valorant skin system. you buy the skin, have seperate currency to buy animations, vfx and a finisher

Trust me not many people will hate this if all legends got their own heirloom..This just force people that main legends with no heirloom to get this and it's stupid cuz that's how u lose players instead of keeping them..Respawn devs rly don't want to use their brains..Even tho they made a Tiktok video on their official Account and said that Legend Heirlooms are not gone and that they will come back but rn they focus on the universal ones..🤷
dude... have you stopped playing apex because of that? i hate those overpriced event as much as you, but it won't make us stop playing it, and as long as there are people with no brains and wallets bigger then themselves, EA will keep doing shit like it. We would have to ACTUALLY stop playing this game, so players with money to spend would have to deal with each other in empty servers
Looking at this, i think its actually a decent change to instead focus on universal heirlooms instead of legend specific ones, at least for now. it sucks waiting for leaks to only find out that the legend you main doesn't have anything in the files for a new heirloom and instead someone like Vantage is getting the next one. do i think the Katar was the right fit for this? no. maybe they should look more at valorant melee designs to get inspiration for a better universal heirloom going forward.
However, i do think collection events as a whole need to go, and instead just let us buy the heirlooms, mythic skins, outright. $20-$30 for a weapon skin, and $40-$60 for a heirloom/mythic skin, that's more reasonable instead of spending $160-$360 for a bunch of skins you may not even like just to get an okay heirloom/skin. Would rather them drop 5 skins every two weeks that we can just buy outright instead of lumping everything together in a collection event...
Isn't it leaks problem then? The Heirlooms were meant to be the most valuable items in the game, but since the chances of getting shards are veeery slim collection events are a way to compensate for that. Besides you don't pay only for the heirloom, but get a lot of cosmetics that are mostly nice upon release of a heirloom. Seems fair to me.
@@NydorfvonFlickerberg negative. no cosmetic should be priced at $160-$360. just because you get "a bunch of other cosmetics with it" does not mean that it should be the end reward for that either. the community wants heirlooms that they can use with their legends, so let them buy them outright instead of locking them behind a collection event/gambling with lootboxes until you get shards for one. it's a predatory business model that will squeeze as much money possible out of the consumer while trying to justify it.
what shocks me is that they scrapped the already insanely overpriced collection events with something even more overpriced and luck based once we finally got used to the collection events

Tbh if you get shards I’d def say get the old heirlooms. The new ones are boring and sad and there something abt running around with lore accurate heirloom for your favorite character and the spin for most heirlooms are so cool

I totally agree, if we got universal and legend based heirlooms there would be 0 problems. It s so weird to take away the legend based ones. We have 3 event s per season, there s enough time for them to ask for our money. At least let us spend it in stuff we want

Universal heirlooms would have been cool if there was variety and they had cool animations. Like if the were just weird heirlooms that we got alongside character heirlooms but these just feels like they're trying to sell us lazy variants of the same thing and the heirloom recolours felt like that already this just feels worse
I feel like Katars and other future universal heirlooms should cost 50 or 75 heirloom shards so you can get 2 or 3 bases for the price of one high-quality legend-locked heirlooms

Universal heirlooms just seem to me to be a waste, I'd rather have a proper character customisation where you can make the legends your own like using parts of the skins you already have to customise them, and also changing the colours to what you want, because I know alot of people just ain't bothered about getting skins unless they are event/mythic skins but to those who don't have the funds to buy them they should allow customisable skins for people to show off

I think it’s unrealistic to want heirlooms for every legend at this point. Universal heirlooms are better for players with less play time, one heirloom every character
