I just bought a 2011 ltz model with every option, runs and drives perfect, does not burn any oil, new tires, paid 2000 for it
Too funny! I just watched your FJ video and told you about my FJ I recently bought. I traded my 2015 Equinox for it. The Equinox was a great comfortable car. I did have a transmission leak when I bought it and it took four tries for the dealer to finally fix it under warranty. I changed the trans fluid annually and the transmission was happy. I changed the engine oil every 5K but after my wife's 2015 Captiva started burning oil, 1qt every 500 miles, I started changing my car's oil every 3K. Bot cars had identical engines. Really easy to work on too. My wife's car had just hit 115K when its oil started burning up fast. My car had 88K on it and it was burning 1qt every 3000 miles. So we traded both cars in. Because of the year model of our cars they didn't fall under the class action lawsuit for a new or rebuilt engine. So now we both have Toyotas. I have the FJ and she a 2018 RAV4. No oil burning in those yet. Lol!
Thanks for the honesty. I like GM products and currently own a 2022 Cadillac. But in 2016 when we were buying our older 2nd car we were between a 2016 Equinox and a 2016 Toyota Rav4. We landed up with the Rav4 only because the small cargo space in the Equinox was a turn off. The Rav has been a fantastic and solid car but I cannot get passed the fact that its a taxicab. Its purpose built to be reliable from having an antiquated and unrefined but basic easy to work on powertrain to vinyl seats that are durable but don’t look pretty at all like they belong on a school bus but thats it. No appeal to it whatsoever other than it being easy to live with. So I keep thinking “What if” I got the Equinox instead. I’ve heard there have been oil burning issues on these but I also question how well people truly maintain their cars.
that equinox is the exact same spec as mine. only difference is i have more buttons on my steering wheel and i have chrome accents over the mirrors and stuff. I took all the chrome and wrapped it black including the chevy badge. i’m going to get some black wheels for it and wrap it black and it will look even better to me. I just like murdered out cars no matter what car it is
My 2010 Equinox at 232k miles but has a noise like someone scratching when I press on the gas and when I let the gas go it goes away only comes when I press it
I never had oil issues like that had a GMC small jimmy for 7 yrs and a Jeep gc lrdo for 18 yrs, never had burning oil.. it depends on Which oil and i only changed 2yrs at inspection
Oh that’s funny! I called the dealership my car came from new and they said it was older than 6 years old so they wouldn’t do anything for free
My Mazda 3 2009 got 180k miles
Lol running strong and fast baby
Always enjoy listening to these stores. Glad to see you back. Those equinoxes are turds.
It’s a turd on wheels 😂
How long would you say a vehicle like that would last?
I had a 2011 model and after 50k miles it sounded like a Diesel and went through 3 pints of oil in 1 week and i was told that i would need a whole new engine.
He’s back 😭. I’m tellin you, when you do the right thing for people, your blessings will always come back, not sure when, but they always do. A lot of small dealers are shady, but it’s good you guys aren’t, that word spreads around too. Chevy’s are not known for quality. Especially those 2005 era Malibu’s.
Omg I hate Chevy cars. That 05 era head gaskets and over heating & Even the new ones suck. And yes I’m back baby! 😂 and so happy and blessed. Truly blessed.
@@povnelson2019 I got an online friend who had I think it was one of those 05 silver impalas, and it gave him hell before he got his scion. Glad to hear you’re back, with so much negativity going on, is losing so many people in this county, I get worried when I don’t get updates from people here or anywhere online, great to hear you’re doing well, and love to your family.
Purple royal is the spot always
I really don’t like the steering wheel because there’s like no right controls in it😢
I fixed my oil burning by replacing the valve cover with pcv valve
What model do you have? I have 2012 AWD LTZ which consumes oil but not as much as people complain. But I wonder if doing this in advance could help as a preventive measure
@@CINAMONIK mines a 2014 LT fwd and it burns oil again sometimes…. Like right now it’s not idk what’s causing that but I’m not leaking anything but I do have problems with my transmission now it’s downshifting pretty hard. I do all my services on time and even had done the oil every 3,500 miles since new with full synthetic oil, it seems using 5w-40 instead of 30 also does help a lot too and even fixed the slight top end rattle on cold starts after it’s been sitting for a few days. I work for Hyundai which has a gmc dealer next door and I’m pretty good friends with them and they said it’s likely my valve body’s in the trans but also said the oil consumption could be fixed with a top end engine cleaning, basically they remove the coils and spark plugs and allow the top and engine cleaner to sit on top of all four cylinders for about 24 hours sometimes they repeat this twice sometimes oil consumption is caused by sticking piston rings, and is usually fixed by doing the top and engine cleaning.
@@mistardoyle3042 This is extremely helpful. Thanks man for sharing. I like my Chevy a lot but boy do I fear for its future haha
@@CINAMONIK me too lmaooooo
I found a 2010 with 145k miles, but the engine was replaced around 132k. Think it would last?
Keep an eye on the oil and it should last. They’re known for hogging oil
All you have to do is take care of normal maintenance and tires. Don’t drive it like an idiot and these cars can last well over 250K
My 2014 with only 48k miles is falling apart and burning so much oil lmfao it’s soooooooo skoe
Why u delete my comments bro wtf ima keep talking the truth
