    You guys do a great job with these reviews. I appreciate all the testing you do. Acceleration numbers and the hill climb are great for comparison shopping. You are probably the best Scooter review channel on CZcams. If you are looking for ways to provide more content (you can only review them as fast as they make em, right?) maybe you could do some repair/troubleshooting/aftermarket upgrades. I'd watch it.

    I purchased my wide wheel pro based on your previous review. I like the way your explain every detail with pros and cons and real criticism so all brands improve their scooters. As they did with the wide wheel pro it feels so good riding to work. I like the solid rubber wheels that means never a flat tire. And hills are no problem. Powerful scooter for the money around $1,100 . I get compliments on the Manhattan streets like that’s a cool looking scooter yeah it’s a bad ass thanks.

    Hi I’m a new subscriber and have been watching your awesome reviews for last few days. I’m about ready to pull trigger on a scooter and have narrowed it down to the Zero 9 and the Apollo City. They seem so similar but Apollo is cheaper. I wish there was a comparison video with these 2 head to head but can’t find any. You’ve reviewed them separately. Is the Zero 9 worth the extra $200? Which did you like better? Any feedback would be great before I buy. Thank you and love the work you do!!! 👍

    I have a mercane wide wheel scooter and your review is very accurate. This is a powerful scooter designed for pavement. Actually, given its weight and aluminum construction this is more like a proper 'electric vehicle'. The wheel profile tends to pitch the scooter upright which creates stability in a forward direction. The wheels are not meant for noodling around in little circles but for covering ground like riding a moped. Just think of the widewheel as an electric motorcycle that has been squished down into the shape of a scooter.

  • @SafwanBN
    @SafwanBN Před 4 lety +3

    Useful vid as always! Loving the consistent methodical approach to your reviews.
    Just a question/suggestion, are all these electric scooters easy to roll around when folded? I plan on purchasing one and would need to take them on board subway trains for a combo commute. Problem is, the rules here require electric scooters be folded up from the moment one enters a station and it'd be a pain to have to carry most of these scooters all the way from station to station. It would be good if the "portability" sections in your reviews can also demonstrate how easy or hard it would be to drag any of these scooters around while folded.
    Anyhow, hope you can get back to reviewing more scooters soon!

      @Marley Moore I agree with you. But there is a solution I already did and now is perfect. You need to buy this throttle on AliExpress, quite cheap but don't Install it. Just open inside and take out the sensor(connected to end of cable) and put it inside the original throttle now you have control even on very low speeds and power is still there to push.

    I can certainly testify to the performance of my Apollo City Scooter (A Zero 9 with different branding.) vs a Mercane Widewheel Pro.
    I was started climbing a bridge in NYC last week when a Widewheel came zipping by. But when I reached the apex of the bridge which is a long flat run before the down hill side, I was able to catch up rapidly and eventually overtook the widewheel before reaching the end of the bridge. So the speed is definitely there. Just not the power. Twin 500s vs one 600.
    When deciding between the purchase of the two last fall, I can say I am glad I went with the Apollo (Zero 9).
    Decent speed and power, in a much lighter package.

    However the new zero 10X with 60v LG batteries and hydraulic brakes looks very interesting, also the new kaabo 60v with mini motors controller and display. Choices to make later this year maybe.

    Great review Chuck! I don’t think the point can be nailed home enough that electric scooters are the ultimate COVID19 transportation devices. I have the Zero 9 and love it. The widewheel is more than a formidable competitor for about $300.00 more. Just the same the LED lights and larger deck and THE SERVICE FROM REV RIDES is reason enough to go ZERO SERIES. Get a higher end Zero if you want more wild. They offer it! And make sure to buy it from Rev Rides.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Před 4 lety

      We base the database on the certification ratings, and downhill helmets are actually rated for less speed than ebike or motorcycle. If you are looking at a halo helmet see what certification it complies with - which will relate to the speed of testing. And absolutely go for chin bar if you can.

    i just got the cle version. although every review ive watched on this scooter has been accurate none mention some important things about this scooter. 1: its freaking huge and bulky. its like a tank or the suv of scooters. at 56lbs this beast is not commuter friendly in the sense that its just too dam big and heavy its awful to try and carry this on the train or bus you will piss someone off including yourself. 2: you can tell the people who made this had no clue what they were doing. for every good thing something contradicts it. the wide wheels are pointless and are just terrible they hinder the power of this scooter. the wheels have zero traction i mean zero. anything and everything makes the wheels lose grip and you feel like you one wrong move from falling.
    things like the painted street lines or uneven surfaces make the wheels skip and stutter. it functions in the rain but again slippery. i dont understand why they couldnt give the wheels deeper tread for grip and instead gave it what amounts to extremely worn out tires. its dangerous considering the speed of this thing. 3: this scooter is a rocket it simply wants to take off in a straight line. theres no middle ground its fast or slow period. the speed with those awful tires is an accident waiting to happen. the kickstand is a skinny terrible thing that can barely hold the scooter. the hand grips are terrible they hurt your hands and the handlebars are too skinny for big hands. if you forget how fast this scooter is and press the throttle without a good grip on the handlebars you will fall off real bad. the brakes on the handlebars are too big and far off its awkward and difficult to hold the bar and keep some fingers on the breaks theres basically no bell the one it comes with is pathetic and useless. i swear they made this thing so you can kill yourself. its power and speed is the only good thing. honestly consider far better options for your commute.

    The reason zero 9 doesnt lock proparly is so that you can lift the scooter while riding to go over bumps just like how you would on a bike to do a wheelie

    Janobike T10 - biggest bang for your buck. You are skipping max load in all the reviews. WideWheel has a wobbly handlebar (to be replaced), lack of fender extensions (to be added), side panels on suspension levers falling off due to vibration (to be reinforces with M3 screws with washers), suspension springs need grease (getting rusted). WideWheel is for light riders under 100kg. I got it for $600 second hand and wouldn't pay more.
