@@nietniet435 As someone who is a tab hoarder for various reasons (either for references, different topics, streaming services, etc.), vertical tabs is a life saver, because you can actually see the tabs and what they are, as opposed to Chrome's horizontal tabs. Once you open 10 - 15 tabs, you struggle to see what each tab was supposed to be. That's why the treestyle tabs addon (for Firefox) was great. Chrome's equivalent of treestyle tabs were never really good or well developed imo.
I'd rather have tab readability over more space. Plus, more space isn't necessarily good anyways if you're just going to full screen stuff anyways. And if the vertical tab does take too much space, you can just minimize it whenever.
Immersive reader was enough for me to use Egde. It was miles better than anything I could find for Chrome. Also, the sleeping tabs is a major saver if you open like 200 tabs everytime lol. Also the webcapture is better and faster than anything I could find as well.

Edge is probably the best overall browser to use right now. But still i will stick with safari on mac. But if i am using windows i will definitely go with edge.

Yeah but a lot of people don't bother to add the extensions and with the way chromium is coded it's easy to have all this extra stuff without hogging resources if it's not being used.
I just bought a Microsoft Surface computer and have Edge. Once I removed all the bloatware, I now have a nice clean layout. No ads or nonsense. Overall, I am very happy with Edge despite being a Chrome user for years. I also like the fact that Edge uses less computer resources than Chrome. Time will tell.

"faster" ? Because you use default settings. You can speed up chrome with flags, But it's objectively more optimised. Id favor a few milliseconds loading time to Not have a bunch of shit running in the background while i'm using other apps
Main reason I came searching was because randomly Chrome was using a lot of my CPU just for having a tap open, not multiple just a singular page. At first i noticed my fans kicking up just a lil and figured it wasn't important til I saw it was going upwards of 40%-70% which has never happened before and currently as I'm typing this I have like 10 tabs open and i'm barely using 4%. The main reason I was concerned was because I play games and if chrome was already using 20%-60% just being open I can't afford to use it anymore when playing games.
I wonder... Are Chromium based browsers the "next Internet Explorer"? I mean, with most people using Chromium based browsers, will we suffer the lack of support for other browsers in the near future, just as it happened some time ago when IE was king?
U rather mean everything else will BE the next Internet Explorer because every popular Browser is chromium based.
Edge is great but I like Vivaldi with its now much lower ram usage and tab stacking is nice too since it cleans up the tabs and makes it look like I have one tab opened on youtube but I have 6 or 7 XD

I have also used Vivaldi before, but switched back to Edge, since for Vivaldi there are a lot of compatability problems (e.g. can't run this on Vivaldi, cause it's not supported)

I feel like the internet browsers are so similar it doesn't really matter i use edge because i have it on my computer so it syncs my info but its just internet they all pretty much work the same most people dont use any of the features. You just go to the site you need and get off lol

God knows why people love Chrome over Edge when it lacks even basic bookmark management features. Not talking about Collections in Edge.
1. Recently deleted so you can recover accidentally deleted bookmark
2. Duplicate finder for bookmarks
3. Find bookmarks is not possible from the top down menu in Chrome. You got to open the bookmark manager.

I use edge for school only. I don’t sign in to my microsoft account or anything just create a profile and login to school websites only. split tabs, read aloud and collections are just too good as a student. Brave for everything else tho

That’s why google chrome is so popular than ever.
My personal favorite web browser is the Brave browser. Just in case alphabet is worried I use the CZcams app for the majority of my CZcams viewing.

Don't use opera, the tab islands which are equivalent to tab groups are not very optimised and you can't save them. Also the extentions don't work that well on opera

Which is better for MacOS that all I care about?
I use both. Brave for personal and edge for school, i honestly can’t tell a difference is page load speeds or anything. Unless stuff is bogging down don’t worry about the ram usage, unused ram is wasted ram

I just switched to Edge after years of Chrome and after setting it up to my likings I made it look and operate like chrome and better. It's using less GPU, less CPU, Less RAM. Overall less demanding browser on your system. I'm a gamer so I'm setting up everything for maximum performance for my games instead of tanking it with background apps. RTX 4080 OC 13600K 5.5 x 4.3 x 4.9 Ghz 16 GB 4000 CL15 Super-tuned. 3 SSD's 5 HHD's. Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Windows 11 Gamers Edition.
Bdw for me extensions use nothing. I only use.:
CZcams Dark Theme, AD Blocker and no CZcams Shorts.
Google chrome is best because most people are already under the Google-sphere.. Its too hard to take everything from Google and transfer it to a Microsoft account. Even if you do, you're account is still not connected to CZcams, the largest social media platform on this rock. But, Microsoft offers some damn good upsides with Edge.

I just hate how edge doesn't allow you to "ask where to download". It's super irritating when trying to download multiple files in a specific folder.

Umm if you go to the settings in edge and click on Downloads in the sidebar, you'll literally see a section "Ask me what to do with each download"

You could say that about Brave, Opera, and any other Chromium browser. Chromium is an open source platform that can be heavily modified, so I don’t think all Chromium browsers are “the same.”
