- There are now twelve LEGO sets that have retailed for $500 or more. Most of these have been released very recently. In this video I attempt to rank them according to my preference. Let me know if you agree with my rankings. If not, how would you rank them?

Lego is missing the boat lately, a train you can’t use, hulk buster without iron man, Effie tower without structural details you build and foose ball table with to many mini figs! But, the titanic is awesome.
Yep, pretty crazy right now. LEGO is all over the place. No pun intended.
I agree with most of it, but I feel the mini figs are the main reason I would even consider the foose ball table. (Even though it drives the prices to a crazy level)
Eiffel tower without structural details?
@@constantijnnnn All the cross members are decorative instead of being part of the structure.
In my opinion the Colosseum deserves a much higher place. It has a 550 price for 9000 pieces which is a great ratio, and is one of those sets that you can display and barely tell it’s Lego. It’s masterful and grand in scale. Much better than the bulldozer, and others.
great vid!
For the $850 price the AT-AT set should come with 20 or more MiniFigures.
9 is way too few.
Hey Alex. First of all I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now Christmas is right around the corner. Thanks for making this list. The fact that most of them are from the last two years really stands out. Like you said, I think this will become the norm moving forward. Generally I think I agree with your list. Purchased the Eiffel Tower but it will be a while before I build it since I have no idea where I’ll put it. But there’s nothing in your list that I would move significantly. I share your perspective on many of these. Cheers.
Not many years intill we hit the 20,000 piece tag which sounds like a moc but think about it the biggest actual set has gone from 7500 to 10,000 in a few years
Thank you! And same to you and your family as well. Enjoy the Eiffel Tower build. It is a very impressive set.
This video seems like Alex should do a music video “on the 12th day of xmas, lego gave to me, a hulkbuster underneath the tree”
12 days of expensive xmas 😂
This gave me a good laugh! Thanks, Kim!
Made me sit up in bed laughing. Thanks for the jokes and the mocs!

Me as a Canadian where so many more sets are $500+ 😭
Me in New Zealand...
Here’s my list:
1 - UCS Millennium Falcon
2 - Eiffel Tower
3 - Colosseum
4 - Star Destroyer
5 - Titanic
6 - Razor Crest
7 - Death Star
8 - AT-AT
9 - Hogwarts Express
10 - Old UCS Falcon
11 - Hulkbuster
12 - Bulldozer
I’m a huge Star Wars fan and I had been rooting for a new UCS Falcon. It’s the crown jewel of my collection at home and I’m so glad they released it back in 2017 so that had to be 1. The Eiffel Tower is the new king of sets with 10,000 pieces, and at 5 foot tall how could it not crack the top 3? The Colosseum closes out my top three since it not only is a beautiful piece of art but also a cost effective expensive set with 9,000 pieces at $550. The Star Destroyer is the ultimate display piece, sadly it had only a few minifigs, but I think the improvements from the first ISD set make it so worth it. The Titanic is great, I’m just not a ship guy, great price though for pieces. The Razor Crest is one of the most impressive UCS sets with a full interior and smooth tiled exterior. Great figs too. The Death Star is sadly retired, so many great figs at a $500 price. The AT-AT is a beautiful set at a horrible price. I’d have two Falcons before I spent 850 on the AT-AT. I still want the set, but it needs to go on sale soon. I feel like if it was 650-700 it would be an easier sell. The Hogwarts express has a lot of flaws, not to mention the biggest is it’s price. Old Falcon is obsolete but a classic. The Hulkbuster shames Lego and all it’s supposed to stand for. Sorry Bulldozer, I like Marvel more.
I own the Colosseum and it’s one of my favorite sets. It should definitely be much higher
Good video, interesting and entertaining. I would deffo put the TBulldozer over the Death Star though, I always thought that set was an ugly mess. But other than that, I might well agree on all accounts.
The titanic is #1 for me also.
You should make a ranking video of the top sets with the most pieces
Great share video
Waiting for titanic to be delivered right now, gotta agree with your top 12, made my day cant wait.
Right now the largest set in my collection by price is the 90th anniversary castle and that is how it will probably stay because of not only my budget for next year but also my overall plans don't involve buying giant sets often I only did the $400 castle since I had the money set aside for it and it was double vip with 2 promos. After seeing the price new on the 2007 falcon I might keep my 1989 batman sets sealed for good which the batmobile retired last year and the batwing just today according to shop at home is sold out for good. My copy of that is still in its original shipping box from lego.
I'll have to take your word for it because i only own one of those, the ucs star destroyer. Sadly in aus, those are priced to the next level of purchase, and none of the rest have a personal draw like the star destroyer did for the one thousand dollars. Not just for the pricing, but interestingly what is becoming my favorite grade is the "masterbuilder" type sets. I have mos eisley and our household is looking quite fondly at the new large castle. I started adult lego with display sets, but a few years in turns out playability is just as if not more important to adult me. The display only sets feel like they're missing half the value (dusting doesn't count).
Love the video, no a star wars fan so my ranking would be a little different. I did buy the Eiffel Tower (mostly bc of all the promos to bring costs down), would love to get my hands on the titanic
Hey man how is it ! I got the titanic which is a bit more dense of a model and is absolutely stunning on my windowsill at 135 cm long I no longer have a window sill 😅
The titanic is legendary. And it used to retail for $630.
My ranking from 12 to 1 would be: 12: Hulkbuster, 11: Harry potter train ( I love trains but this doesn't fit with the current Lego City trains), 10: Death Star (Expensive playset), 9: Colosseum (not my cup of tea), 8: Bulldozer (not into Technic sets), 7: Eiffel Tower (big and expensive, no place to display it), 6 Imperial Star Destroyer (have the old one from 2002 and love that), 5: 2007 Millennium Falcon, 4: Titanic (like the Eiffel tower, big and expensive and hard to display because of the size), 3: Razor Crest, 2: 2017 Millennium Falcon (have it still in the box, and hope to find somewhere to display it so I can build it soon), 1: AT-AT (this is on my wishlist, but will probably stay there for awhile as it is so expensive)
Sadly don't own any of them. If money and space weren't issues I would really only be interested in 1 Titanic 2 Eiffel Tower 3 The Hogwarts Express.
Got to say. I’m surprised a Star Wars wasn’t your 1. Hmmm. Anyways. When is the top 10 want video coming. Lol
Still irritated that we didn’t get a GWP with the Titanic like the Eiffel Tower and Colosseum had, missed opportunity for a 250 - 350 piece lifeboat. Grab the Captain minifig from series 23 for display he fits in perfectly.
We could of had an icebrick
Good call, I agree!
I think Lego was being cautious, obviously as the titanic is most well known for the tragedy so having a GWP that includes a depiction of the dead captain might not have been as well received 😅
@@Shrapnel-tn7zywould look epic though
Why’d you buy the hulk buster before the razor crest just curious
I didn't. It was an offered review set from LEGO. I wish I had got the Razor Crest, but my channel is not hyper focused on Star Wars.
Where would you place Rivendell in this list?
I would put Rivendell in about the middle of my top 10 of 2023
I would say the titanic set but that price is a bit much
Sorry Alex but I absolutely disagree with most of your list. 😅 This would be mine :
01 - Titanic
02 - Eiffel Tower
03 - New Millennium Falcon
04 - Colosseum
05 - Star Destroyer
06 - Hogwarts Express
07 - Razor Crest
08 - AT-AT Walker
09 - Technic CAT Bulldozer
10 - Death Star
11 - Hulk buster
12 - Old Millennium Falcon (in my opinion the new one makes this completely obsolete)
From that list I currently only own the new Millennium Falcon, the Eiffel Tower is on its way being shipped, and the Colosseum I will buy the next time LEGO does double VIP along with good promos (maybe the Titanic as well if I manage to create a place to display it). The Star Destroyer I might get if my local Belgium retailers put it on sale later this year to get rid of their stock.
The AT-AT Walker I really planned to get and was excited about at release, but the longer I wait, the less I seem to be interested. The colosseum is the opposite, I wasn’t interested in it when it was released, but now that I have the place to put it I really want it. Yes the build is tedious and repetitive but not even close to the building snore fest that is the Eiffel Tower. But the Colosseum looks amazing with a proper lighting kit in it (and I’m sure the Eiffel Tower will as well, especially with a smart kit that makes the lights flash just after midnight or so like in real life 😊).
Great comment and very well said. Thanks for sharing your list and the reasons behind it.
The Titanic to me is Meh. I would rather get the CAT Bulldozer. The Hulk Buster I wouldn't even put in this list.
How long do you think the titanic will be available
Another year at least.
Colosseum without gladiators , neeeee lego is wrong about that, and the increased prices is disappointing. But we love Lego and we do our best the keep that love and built and built and built 😂😂
Just bought Titanic during 2x VIP
"A month or two ago"? It came out this month lol
Where’s all the Lego Star Trek sets? A Lego UCS Enterprise would sell out for years
I really wish LEGO had the licensing for Star Trek. I would go absolutely broke buying them.
I wish i had titanic😅😅😅
The bulldozer was the only one that I would consider
However, it is way too expensive and way too big
Something has gone wrong with LEGO sets lately, the Hogwarts Express is a good example where they really messed up, you can't even play with it!!!!
Some days ago ordered Cat buldozer in Local e-shop for 333€ vs Motorizēts Lighthouse for 299€ I ges is good deal.
My is Lego Technic sets lots / I'm not much Lego city and no room for it and I'm sad no Lego City now
😃
