The .30-30 is by far my favorite weapon in COTW! I just love everything about it; from the fantastic echo-y sound it makes to the realistic design. A drawback is of course the shorter range (and the scope if you're not a fan of the x32's), however the damage upgrade from the .43 is worth it imo. The .30-30 is basically the perfect weapon for killing roe deer and blacktail! :)
I should also add that the .30-30 kills roe deer with 100% quick-kill if you hit a single lung aswell, so for a new player this would be ideal since the shot placement might not be on point! ^^
My only issue is the scope, but mainly because its dark and that makes it harder for viewers to see, I have no problems aiming with it. Good point about the single lung on roe deer! Could be useful for newer players for sure
I really like the design of the crosshair, but dislike the brightness, or lack thereof hehe. Makes it hard for night hunting.
It seems worth it, to note that the .30-30 dosen't accept any of the starter scopes, it has a specific scope, that must be unlocked.
Don't forget it's more economical, you're sacrificing 50 or so yards but the the rounds costs around half of that of a .270.

I grew up using the 30-30 win as my go to. It's a beast of a cartridge and very forgiving.
I hate using the .270 because I saw so many black-tails when I hunted with it. I also dislike the missions where you have to hunt the coyote with the .270 because of getting no integrity.
I love the 45-70
i love the .30-30 because it gives the integrity of the .243 but has the power of the .270. i roll with the tritium sights on it and use it at close range where scopes are a hindrance, though.

I just loaded up on 243 ammo cause it's free (like 100+ rounds) and bush whacked everything I came across and saved for the 7mm
I find the .30-30 to be more of a Hirschfelden gun honestly (and ironically, since it's more of a US gun). The shorter ranges and higher shot flexibility blend particularly well with the nearly CQB terrain of that dense forest and hills map. Layton offers MUCH longer sightlines, so a weapon that offers higher range performance is better for it, imo.

@James Riddle Yes, but you don't get 100% anymore (no vital organs hit).
I typically carry the 30-30 with me for deer, and use my 7mm for elk moose and bears. Best setup I’ve used.

I just started using the 30-06 (at level 26) and I really like it. It seems to have the best all round statistics of any rifle I have used so far: excellent stopping power, range, accuracy, 3 in the mag/ 1 in the hole, reasonable recoil making follow-up shots much more possible than the .300 magnum or similar big guns, and a nice sounding retort with just a hint of ‘thunder’ in it.
If I buy a lever action, I guess I will try 45-70 and then 30-30
30-30 is an all around great gun in real life. The game makes it pretty realistic but it would’ve dropped the elk with a heart shot. I use hollow points and it would’ve killed it quicker. Good vid
I live my .30-30. I use soft point 170 grain.
This game has alot of stuff unrealistic with it

@@hisavege705 how do you mean? because a .270 150 grain soft point can easily drop a moose with the right shot. Im not sure if you mean the game depicts the rifle as weak or strong
Billy Boots i believe that it got buffed like 4 or 3 months ago but before it was weak it you had to hit the moose in the heart or you’re tracking a moose for 2 hours
One issue though is you used two different ammo types. 270 polymer 30/30 soft
30/30 soft points have the penetration of polymer tips on everything else and the polymer tips have better expansion
i just started playing COTW and i am using all your tips and tricks and it helps alot

Those are the better penetrating ones, those are the ones I use to
Dropped several white tail in their tracks with the 30-30 in real life. I hunted with it for years, recently got a 30-06 and it’s even better
Great video, and some awesome shoosting. 30-30 is a great low class rifle, I kinda like it over the 243. Get yourself a 7mm for big game first, but then by all means, get yourself this toy and enjoy 😊

The 30-30 is the best versatile gun in the game..Yes a well placed shot with any gun I get it but you can take down all game with it plus it doesn't take away Integrity for any animal but the Rabbits better than carrying 3 different guns to do the same job as 1 I love the 30-30 it's what I use

30-30 on New Zealand is awesome for all the class 3 animals, they seem to bleed faster than the 243
Ive been able to drop a good sized male black bear with a well placed .243 soft point shot
I rather like the .30-30. Pretty useful weapon overall, good for quick follow up shots (if needed), and works great with tritium iron sights. My only issue is that I utterly despise the scope for the lever actions. It's usable, I'm just not a fan. Good vid as always.

I guess the fuds are designing games now? The round in game seems to show a fairly accurate representation of the cartridges capacity in the real world but to think that you should even consider 30-30 for coyotes let alone that arguably the most prolific deer round of the last 125 years isn't ethical for whitetail deer is kinda hilarious
the Original theHunter game was/is even worse, they won't even score the hunt unless you use something way OP for the species.

Took out a Moose today with the .243 from 287m first moose kill felt real good.
The only issue with the 30-30 is you have to unlock the scope, as it takes a certain one. So that definitely hinders it’s uses early on
Iron sights and bush stalking ftw just get close and aim for lungs its easy
When i get a huntin game I buy all the guns, optics and accessories even if they aren't worth it

Literally I just got this game and am trying all kind of things as challenges, shot a plains bison in the heart with my .357 hollow point magnum from about 25 yards away, ran around trying to ram me for at least 30 seconds before dropping lmaooooo, hunting deer with the 22 rifle and my .357, bears with my .357 and crossbow, and I'm gonna start using the flintlock gun, really fun as a challenge, it's a game, have fun lmaoooo
Pretty sure that's the gun i've had my eye on for a while. I'm thinking of going (Bow, Whitlock, M1) for most of my kills on the lakes
I bought it instead of the 7mm I have most of the guns now I really like the 30-30. The only thing I don’t like is the cross hairs in the Helios scope because it’s hard to see them when night hunting like I had a diamond axis deer and I could see where it was and I took the shot and I was a stomach and liver
The game has it kinda backwards yes you want good penetration but expansion is key in real life a polymer tip would pass through and not leave a good hole a animal would run a good distance unless you hit heart but also in the game you can shoot a doe with a .357 in the head and she still runs forever a .22 will drop a deer dead with a head shot in life but I guess that's the difference in a game and life
Im always running a 30.30 45.70 and 338. :) no backpack as I seem to spook everything with one on the back :D
TeleTorben buy weapon pack 2 and all you need is a mosin and a 7mm for any reserve. Personally I also bring a bow because I like bow hunting

I’ve seen 30-30’s blow holes in deer the size of a baseball on the exit. They’re really a powerhouse. It’s a shame that the game makes it seem so weak.

I traded out the .243 for the .30-30 a while ago and I love it. Don't use the hollow point rounds though.
30-30 and 45-70, only guns where standard ammo is better than the "upgrade"

30-30 is the best gun damage-wise for coyote\lynx, but you only get 1 shot before losing integrity so you gotta make it count. Probably my favorite gun in the game, you gotta do vids with it for the other maps\species and try diamond moose with it.

Hey would you be able to do an update video on integrity for class comparisons now that the spine shots aren't vital organs. Personally I think it would be nice to have a best in class video it it hasn't already been done.

Awesome video dude. What about the 45-70. I like the older style guns lever action. I use a 30-30 in real life. Don’t own a 30-06. I prefer like I said the older style riffles and compound bows. In real life the Matthews bows can’t be beat in performance,but u will pay for that name. I would like to see a 30-06 introduced, only prob then is u approach to close similarities in diff weapons. We already have long range in the 7mm riffle.
Hay Flinter great vid sorry this is late. I like 30-30 I think that it is worth getting if you have the money it was my second weapon I bought it is a really fun gun and good for most animals. If you have the 7mm available I would get it first though just because bigger gun can kill stuff better then get 30-30 after you get most of the rifles. Great vid to.
The only thing I don’t like about the 30-30 is the max range, I think it’s 164yd if I remember
I love the quick shots, that power is ok for the class, the only thing that holds it back is the scope, and the bullets are cheap for the soft points(the better penetrating ones) I don’t have the 45-70 but I want to get it, if anyone has the 45-70 how would it compare to the 3030 or the 7mm, but for the price the 3030 can easily make it back if you can find the animals, my current load out is. (338) (7mm) (.22) (3030) I currently have the 3030 replacing the 243 until I find out which I like more.

My first rifle was the 270 but my second was the 45 cal pellet rifle as I mainly shoot air rifles as my main in real life 😁😁
This I would like to know more about. I've made my own valves and reservoirs for .17, .22 and .25 airguns, and will be starting on a .32 project soon. What are you using?
@@randomidiot8142 I’m using bsa silentium in 22 and 25 but I also have a rifle I made from two broken guns . I swapped a bent barrel to a new stock and re made a custom trigger

I r a 243 can drop a whitetail at 200 yards through the shoulders only ever had to give a deer on follow up bc I hit in in the guts bc I suck

You can kill a black bear with a .243 spine shot though so it's not that impressive that the 30.30 did

White tail are a perfect species for 243 that’s what we hunt and most people use 243
This video was made when the 30-30 was a lil stronger and the blacktail had cool racks now they just got shitty racks

Honestly the game took a huge crap on the 30-30 it’s one of the most historic huntin rounds its prolly killed more whitetail deer than any other round Ik other people have their own opinions but thats mine the 30-30 is wayyyyyy under rated and they should have made it one big guns the round of the gun is almost as big as a 7mm in real life I’m disappointed about how they did that Bc the 30-30 is my favorite gun to shoot in real life

I can never get that close to Coyotes.. They flee WAY before I can even raise my Rifle for a sight shot..
Pay close attention to the wind. They will take off if they smell you... (or see you, or hear you). Very skittish. You have to wait a while when calling them in. Stay hidden, quiet, and downwind.

With the 30 30 I got a frontal heart on moose with hollow point. Ran 15 yards and died. 130 yard shot.

I have just gotten the game and I barely see deer at Belmont I always see moose and I can never kill them because I only have 270 soft tips help

I did use it for a while but now I use my 45-70 and my 30-06 for longer ranges but I shot my first buck with the 30-30 so it’s always special to me
