I got could right a novel size book of my experience with the school system. My autistic son went through 4 schools (within a year) before finding the right fit. There should definitely be a guide to special education. So happy I found your channel!!
What a fantastic resource. My stepmom is now raising my 2 special needs nieces right now. Luckily they are in fantastic schools. But they still have plenty of struggles.
I have a MS in K-12 special Ed. I have represented a family friend’s sons IEP meetings for a year to help them get the services he needed. I’m the end I was able to have the district place him in a private school. I just retired and am moving to North Carolina where I would like to pursue providing support services to families. Please give me a heads up about this venture. For example, do I have to have NC certification to join them at IEP netting’s et. al.? I appreciate any feedback! Marla
i've lost a lot of faith in "therapists" since each one we've had for speech wants to throw up their hands and say XYZ is the real issue, not their methods
Jasmine... Yes, ownership and accountability are tough traits to come by in a lot of cases. But keep pushing forward... you're learning during this journey too, and now know what methods DON'T work! #YouGotThis
Can the school districts brick and mortar (face to face) force you into their virtual program when transferring from a virtual charter school? Can they not amend an IEP within 5 days of enrollment?

I could not agree with you more...I have seen this with my own children!
Yes, it is unfortunately VERY common!
