Ive road tripped the Ocean, never been prompted for the 2.1 update while at a charger. I wouldnt waste the drive. Im not even sure I want to 2.1 as 2.0 is atleast stable.
I do tons of road trips and charging sessions all the time and I have NEVER gotten the 2.1 prompt. I want that damned update. The charge door open/Emergency Braking unavailable/blah blah blah alerts were especially annoying on my Seattle to Portland to Seattle trip yesterday/today.
I’m in a rural area as well Sometimes I do get cell service however. But I’ve been stuck with 2.0 (1/2) for months and buggy alerts popping up. I wish there was a way to give owners a heads up of the push dates and times so we can each take the necessary steps like finding an area with the best reception.
If you're connected to WiFi at home, you should try the installation. I'm fairly certain my 2.1 update came through WiFi because my router log said my Fisker downloaded over 2GB of data after I ran the update.
2.1 is a forced update, meaning there is nothing to press. What I am seeing I actually have to press. I just don't know. I sure don't want to brick my own Ocean because it runs fantastic. I am hooked to WiFi at home, but a tech I know said I had to have cellular service
I had a tech at my home today update my Ocean to 2.1 and asked about people like you who don’t have cellular service or a tech in their area. Unfortunately, you may have to fly one of the techs that still have access to the software to your home to do it manually. Horrible option but realistically the only option and options will start to disappear in the coming weeks. Sorry.
I believe it means you are receiving what s called Trex 1. 3.1 prep is for the 2 1 OTA. TREX came in 2 parts trex 1 2.1 and then 1.3.1 before you actually receive 2 1. That is what happened to me. Also 2.1 installs without you having to give permission.
Coming from an IT background, if not fully random, it could follow some batch process scheduling at some point at night (daily,or once a week, at e.g. 2am) and it might trigger only while actively connected to a power supply, regardless what the SoC of your ocean might be (or maybe SoC at least at a minimum level, e.g. 50%, but, connected to your wallbox, or a public AC charger). Just a wild guess, only Fisker knows and they don't share that information until now. Can you see any pattern of when it prompted at you? Good luck with it, when experimenting ;)
Unfortunately, it seems my first answer attempt was dropped by yt. Another try in short. There is a german fisker - ocean - forum de, where the topic 2.1 is discussed. A reset of the so called T-Box (trex) might help trigger the OTA. Also, an update of the SW version of that T-Box might be required prior updating. Search for a mentioned Gene, or ggetsin (an US Fisker tech) there. Vesion 2.1 also comes in two major update steps. The first one is heavilly draining the 12V battery (all lights are on, also in several sub-steps, it might recharge the 12V battery. They write to not unlock the car after the first step after 10min, it takes in total ~40min), some members recommend to connect a 10A charging power supply to the 12V battery during the update. I know, a bit weird in your situation. The second part seems to be pushed by technicians without prompting. Driving around with a half way installation might bring (back) some issues, at least temporarily. Maybe a wifi connection triggers your update prompt. You could ask Gene, how to proceed with no cell signal in your area. Or park it for several days in a town with cell signal and plugged in (not sure if you know somebody there with a wallbox, or if a public charger exists without blocking fee) Best luck!
Mine updated to 2.1 one it’s own while at home on WiFi. I’m not sure if it used WiFi or cellular but it didn’t prompt me to update. I only noticed because the headlights came on when booting back up and I happened to be near the car. It was sent in 2 parts, 2/2 was sent shortly after 1/2 completed. This happened on early May so process could now be different.
@@Ocean1_FSR that's what I'm trying to figure out. I had those same notes on your video and it said 2.1 in those notes. Now it's a 2.0 screen. Lots and lots of notes
I have 2.1 but my notes never updated from 2.0. I know this because the update was a requirement before returning a Fisker loaner and it was verified via Fiskefi before it went down. So you may have 2.1 and your notes still read as 2.0.

The software rollouts are so random, theres no way to even plan around it. They should give the prompt for 24 hrs at least.

@@RSuweidan thanks for thinking of me. I have cellular service at work but nothing has ever happened there. The updates are so random.

@@JMgiarritta If true, do I need cellular service to install? It's odd that it keeps popping up WITHOUT cell service.
I received 2.1 in July

@@markusnatter6062 No pattern I can discern other than popping up after a charging cycle and even with that it is random.
