When you're as rich as Jim Irsay, time is your real currency. I so appreciated how he shared that he doesn't want to be like the rich guy sitting around on his yacht, but the guy invoking good in the world. I have tremendous respect for him and all the others who have fought for so many decades now to secure Tokitae's release to freedom and life. While I live in Seattle and should be a Seahawks fan first and foremost, The Colts via their owner has won my heart. Go Tokitae and go Colts!

Zoos/aquariums could be way more profitable and enticing to visit if they only used rehab animals and showed their progress for their showings then sent them back to the wild once healed.. I will never support taking a animal that has nothing wrong with him/her and making money that way.. good on jim
And I by aquariums I mainly mean the bigger animals that really need the ocean to thrive and reach full potential.. smaller fish don’t necessary need the whole ocean but still all animals should have the chance to go back to their environment
Collection of wild animals is now pretty rare in the US marine parks. The big name, seaworld, hasn't collected an animal from the wild in like 50 years. They rescue and release ton of animals. Many of the animals that do stay are animals that were rescued but would not have survived if released back to the wild (sea lions especially) so instead of being euthanized, they get a home in the park.
There's still a ton of breeding happening, but it's rare that you'd see a animal that was collected from the wild without cause.
Modern zoology, or at least those on the top end of it, is very different from the tigers in cages at the fair attitude of generations past. The conservation impact of big name places like the San Diego zoo or seaworld are substantial.

Hear me out, I love a good feel good story. I completely respect Jim for using his money for good. It just have a weird feeling having all this money and effort going into an elder animal that MIGHT be able to make it to the ocean. Seems like a lot of resources being used for a maybe. I just feel like maybe if used this money for people in need, for example, incarcerated people trying to get back on their feet. Or just people struggling in general. I’m sure Jim uses money for that as well, but idk just a weird feeling I have.
She’s not an elder she’s only 57 and her mother is alive at 95. She can live several decades!! If u wanna help people then u get rich and help them! It’s nothing wrong with being a voice for the voiceless !!
