- Spoiler - The Range SUCKS! I"ll show you the good and the bad of this new scooter. Some call it a game changer, but in the end it's just a quality scooter with a high price tag and the WORST range I have ever seen. Even a GoTrax has more range. Watch my review to see what I liked and didn't.
Check out the following retailers.
Mini Motors USA - minimotorsusa.com?aff=10
Fluid Free Ride - fluidfreeride.com/?ref=8
Did some range testing -
Speed 3 - 8 Miles range
Speed 2 - 11.83 Miles range
Speed 1 - Not tested yet
Best Buy has copies for 399.00 rather have 3 than one....
any updates on range?
It is crap range all around
Nice review man!! Looking forward to the comparison videos.
Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. Interesting point on the ergonomics of the design - how tall are you / shoe size for my reference?
Hi 5ft 9in tall 9.5 shoe
You can fix the handbrake. Just tighten the tension down on the wheel. Super simple. Is the throttle spring loaded? Or dies it free spin? good review
It is already rubbing on the wheel which causes less run time. perhaps over time it will stretch out and get better.
Best scooter ever. Wish i had bought one when it was still available
Can you test out the Etwow Booster V scooter? Seems like a upgraded Zoom Stryder EX. I feel like if they can put a dual motor in one of those and keep it under 35 pounds, it would be my ideal scooter.
I can look into it :}
I had the 500w etwow booster and believe there is a €1500 version. Tbh, for €1500, you are better off getting the boosted rev!
@@79Sarwar boosted rev is not as light and compact as the booster v. They both have 24 mph top speed but the booster v is nearly half the weight, folds down way smaller and it doesn't feel as cramped because the handle bars aren't angled directly towards you.
@@AX5Terminator I agree. etwow is by far the easiest to fold away plus weight is less. But one thing to make sure with etwow is their chargers. Both of mine spark when i connect to battery. Very dangerous sometimes.
@@79Sarwar connect the scooter first before connecting to the outlet. I know it's more of a hassle but better safe than sorry.
If you don’t mind me asking how much do you weigh, because that really affects the range on this thing.
175 lbs
I wight 180
@@MidLifeToys how many miles you can make on mode 3 on a single charge?
Three things I don't like about this...1) Price 2) No suspension 3)Heavy
I can’t make up my mind, this or a evolve GTX board
Abdulaziz Koleilat depends, scooter is more comfortable but the board has longer range and you have an extra hand spare.
@@bjct5002 How is it more comfortable? By the way thanks for the reply and advice!
Abdulaziz Koleilat when I say comfortable I mean you feel safer and more relaxed because of the handle bars. But if your really comfortable on a skateboard the GTX would be almost just as comfortable.
Now seeing this I might cancel the order or might just sell it to someone
It's still a good scooter.
Or should I get a dualtron instead
If you have the money Dualtron truly is the best.
MidLife Toys which dualtron brand is better to get
Hayy Papi we love our REV so much! Great quality built and it runs amazing. Just let you know, you won’t regret
Kaabo Mantis and Zero 10X scooters is cheaper and way faster then that shit 😂
So I hear
You Got Beat ! Over Priced by 600
Where did you find this being sold for $1000. I'll buy it today.
@@timothygermann780 Not worth 1000 that my point you can buy a D4 for 1200 and its 2000 watt dual motor
@@SurRon-GLE But the D4 is clunky, ugly and nearly twice as heavy. More is not always better. 40 mph on a stand up scooter?!! No friggin way I would ever want to do that. Boosted Rev's 24 mph is faster than I would want to go. There comes a point when if the specs exceed your performance requirements then other things like design, ergonomics and other features become the deciding factor.
370 Wh. for $1600 ! What a joke 😂
Ninebot MAX 551Wh > Boosted Rev 370wh.
And the Ninebot MAX can last up to 65km! 😉🛴
@@gtone339 A Xiaomi m365 with an extra battery will cover the same range for half the price.
@@DylanFowler Xiaomi m365 won't last long due to the faulty bolts coming off the folding mechanism, and the Ninebot Max has 2 10" inch Self-healing, tubeless "air-filled" tyres that won't suffer from any minor punctures (up to 6mm for it to survive any punctures)n plus it's more durable than the m365 Pro that came out earlier this year.
@@gtone339 I found the new bolt on Amazon for under £20 and I use green slime on my scooter and I haven't had a puncture yet since I bought it over 6 months ago.
Amazing how some people were just raving about this badly designed hunk of shit.
I have ninbot max beats this pos
The 22 mile range, per the manual, is someone 160 lbs on flat ground going 6 mph. No joke.
so slower than i walk. great
I just got one used for $600! I’m 6’2 and 180 and it is plenty fast. Low ground clearance. Does not like off road much. Has annoying trait that it will chirp the front tire whenever you power manual over something - the front wheel spins up while in the air. No longer has an IOS app, will have to check on android side. Used, these can be a bargain!
Love the wheels on your Jeep!
Thanks! 👍
Needs better battery
The face of the user interface module scratches when it comes in contact with the foot break when you're collapsing it. That's another issue I have with it.
Yea a version 2 would have been awesome!
Bullshit
Can you use it in the wintertime
Yep
This scooter will be the down fall of boosted
It was lol
This scooter is very sucky
The interior components are waterproof. The gap in the front has nothing to do with its water tightness. If you turn it upside down you will see drain holes on the bottom in case water does manage to get in.
👍
Great review. Thank you.
thanks
Hi - I made a video on field charging the Rev when no AC is available: czcams.com/video/ZNmkINUJnGs/video.html -- Check it out.
Boosted needs to listen to this dude
👍
dualtron thunder minimum
Thanks for the review, based on your comments, I'm gonna wait until they realse a better version.
Good choice
They’re probably not gonna release ANY other products since they went bankrupt
5:32 that bell can wake up a whole house lol
lol
$1600? They are probably making $500 profit each. Have you looked at the EMove Cruiser? Much more customization fit, 50-60 miles on a charge, faster up to 28mph, can put a seat, etc.
LOCATION FOR NEW BATTERY
Easily the worst scooter of 2019. Terrible design (too low to the ground and short deck), awful mileage for the cost, and no suspension.
Fluid Freeride Horizon/Zero 8, Ninebot Max, and many others are much better.
Thanks for the excellent video
imagine getting this stolen
STOP NITPICKING
lol ok sorry. Its AWESOME! O wait they are now out of business cause it sucked so bad!
Vehicle grade, as long as point A and point B are really close lol
And your commute has ZERO bumps. A "vehicle grade" scooter should have suspension
Definitely a nice scooter, but there are far better equipped escooters for a lot less... The Zero 9 has full suspension, more range, brakes on both wheels (no cheesy push the fender to stop), full LED lighting for $900.
Cant wait to check one out
My scooter boosted rev , can't go over 8.5 mile on mode 2. as far as mode 3 probably 4 or 5 mile,
with mode 1 i never ride colud be 11 or 12 mile. so you can't get 22 MILE what boosted said i don't know how you can get 22 MILE????.
I RETURN mine scooter to boosted and i ask for refund.
Guys Open your eyes before you buy this scooter!!!!
It all depends on your weight, terrain etc. Usually when buying a scooter just cut the claimed range in half and thats you can expect to get.
@@MidLifeToys my weight is 200 pounds, if they say up to 22 mile it's supposted to be up to 22 i don't want to cut in half i paid for that im not gonna pay for their plaing games for miles and other things.
"good range" the range suck, 8 miles on full charge, thats so weak. I got an Evolve GTR and i get up to 30 miles of range at high speeds. and it costs about the same. so this scooter might look cool, but the range is super bad compared to other products
Evolve GTR cost $400 to $750 more than the Rev and is a skateboard so not really comparable.
I like your review, it is honest! Good point about the handle bar, it is too far back to be confortable.
Thanks
I also felt like it was a little slow. It is possible that they had it locked on Eco mode. It was a test ride in Central Park NY
If you got above 20 mph then I would say no. It depends on your weight and terrain.
right on the money bar angle and deck bothered me too
Glad I am not alone :}
@@MidLifeToys From what I’ve read, I think they consider that bar angle to be a FEATURE. Like swapping the maneuverability of a mountain bike for the comfort and stability of a touring bike, they probably thought too many people were falling because of steep fork rake leading to instability, and decided to make theirs more stable and comfortable. But, yes, they should have made the board longer in the process.
It will interesting to see the comparison to the other scooters you have. #TIACREW
Thanks brother
I had to stop watching after the hand brake. It’s like a bike you adjust by turning the part to make the travel less. Then you get a brake that can skid the rear wheel.
I stopped reading after "I Had" lol
Mercane Wide Wheel looks way better. Long board, very wide wheels. Way cheaper in price!🛴
I took a look at that scooter when it was on display in San Francisco. Very nice, but I didn't like the fender break. I got the Zero 8X instead. No complaints so far.
I've been eyeing that one for a while. Just curious, what kind of range are you getting out of the Zero 8X?
Anybody know if u could at least fiddle with it for a higher top speed. Cuz 24 mph sucks for 1700 dollars sucks
Not so far, unless someone hacks it somehow. Speed is good range is bad
My WideWheel goes 25 mph and I went up steep hills in Monterey. Drove it 25 miles at 25mph , from Marina to Pacific Grove. Cost less and I put a seat on mine as well. Has cruise control, too.😁😁
Thank you for saying this! I’ve been trying to decide between a wide wheel or one of these. Now I know which one to go for!
$1,600................
100% of boosted rev reviewers wear vans.
Ha!
Am I wrong or does it seem very very low? please look for information. thank you
Yes, it is low. Adds to stability
For $1600.00 dollars you should get triple the range and should be a little quicker!!!
Agreed on the range
So the scooter that's advertised as one that will outlast all other scooters arrives broken and is NOT waterproof as the unit is not sealed - bet the box outlast the scooter.... At the beginning you point out a major fault but then you go on to say you are "loving the build quality..." - another Boosted sponsored video - did you get a t-shirt (bet that outlast the scooter too...)?
Yay my first Douche Bag comment. So excited to reply to it. Yes that panel does not look waterproof. I have many scooters and this is built very well compared to most of them. As for being sponsored by Boosted, I am not. I bought this scooter so it is what it is.
@@MidLifeToys Haha....aaah did I hit a nerve...were your other scooters broken when you brought them - I got a couple of scrap-heap scooters if you're interested - seeing as that's what you go for??? Actually you do buy damaged goods - your DT Spider
was damaged when you got it right...
@@jayeshpatel838 what the fuck are you talking about dude. Please enlighten me on what scooter you own.
Lol "aaah did I hit a nerve" Total troll talk.Who says that? Hi five, you are killing it! Please keep commenting :}
@@MidLifeToys I doubt I'll get a reply back from that a-hole. Obviously his scooter is in the scrap Heap he mentioned😂. Being that I own a Speedway 4 Pro and a dualtron Ultra with over 2000 miles on each I know what I'm talking about when it comes to scooters. I'm not a mini motors fanboy. I believe people should get whatever scooter that they want and can afford as long as it lives up to the price that they pay for it. I'm going to pick apart a scooter and point out the good and the bad about that scooter just like you did in your video. But I will never talk shit about the person doing the review like this douchebag did. Keep up the good work and the videos coming👍✌
I don’t think I would spend that much on a scooter the most I’ll go is $600 😭💯
Same! It needs more range and suspension too.
Good but it cannot compete against the Ninebot MAX hehe!
hmm we will see. The boosted has more power and climb ability, speed and charges faster. But the MAX has a lot of range :}
@@MidLifeToys Yup! No bias here but I know its Boosted first attempt on the e-scooter category, but whether their new e-scooter is a success for them or not & if they do take feedbacks from us they should consider a revised version of it, like it needs to have the same range as the Max (or greater), but keeping speeds up to 38km/hr = 24 miles, plus the tyres needs to be tubeless, and needs to be even larger like the Max's 10" inch tyres, and I think the foot-deck material needs to be embedded properly (based on your video observations), the low-profile foot-deck needs to be slightly higher as well, and for that ridiculous price tag it should have dual-shocking absorbing suspension like the Inokim OX Hero & Dualtron series.
Hope they do take note from us!
So true, for the price is should have has a suspension
@@MidLifeToys 🛴😉
You can tighten the disc brake.
The fender brake is really there as an emergency brake if the throttle brake fails and the disc cable snaps or something. It's Def not intended for constant use.
Other than that, I mostly like your review
Thanks
Can’t you re-adjust the brake line through the caliper to tighten up the brakes?
As they stretch out I will. They just feel mushy.
Thank you for your honest reviews.
thanks
I heard about this one kinda it is kinda sketchy. I heard someone broke their finger when they were trying to lift this scooter. Think I’ll stick with Minimotors.
"you guys" is SO overused on youtubers
If this was reviewed here in NZ or in Australia it would be "Good day Mates" or Sup Mates hehe!
Sorry you guys :{. lol
@@MidLifeToys Nah, its all gudz bud hehe!
