The original fright night is one of my favourite films ever. Absolute timeless classic.
It was the very first horror movie I ever saw and I love it to this day. I think I chose wisely at the video store that day.

Michael, you and Jessica never cease to amaze me how you are able to connect with so many different iconic places and people and bring them to us to enjoy right along with you. This was a stellar interview and I was absolutely tickled by Tom's childlike recounting of the scenes from his movies. My personal favourite is Psycho ll but Fright Night is a close second for me. There were killer dolls before Chucky but nowhere remotely as iconic. Thanks for this Grimms and so many thanks to Tom for his amazing films. Bloody legend.
True, they certainly haven't persisted in pop culture as long as Chucky.
Trilogy of Terror comes to mind as far as movies go. It was originally released on 1975. Twilight Zone also aired that Living Doll episode in 1963.
Tom Holland truly created the penultimate killer doll movie.
Psycho 2 is maybe one of the most underrated horror sequels of all time
It had the main elements from the original - Anthony Perkins was still looking pretty good. You had the house of course. I thought the story was pretty good. I mean what were they expecting? It's about a whacko living in a creepy old house. I have to admit though, Meg Tilly was one of the best parts for me also.
The architecture and carpentry in Tom's house, wow. Love it. That floor and ceiling are KILLER. Uh oh, an idea for Tom. The floor and ceiling are menacing killers.
It might not be up there with untouchable classics like Child's Play, but I love Holland's adaptation of King's 'Thinner' too. I haven't watched it for many years but some of those scenes definitely like to pop up in my dreams/mares.
Fantastic. Just watched "We All Scream for Ice Cream" yesterday. Psycho 2 is one of the greatest horror sequels of all time.

Oh man, Fright Night and Child’s Play I remember hiring from the video shop as a teenager (and making a copy of them…). Really inventive time for horror with a lot of comedy as well! Lost Boys, House, Evil Dead 2, etc. Really interesting interview!

I was 14 years old when this movie was released, and when I saw it, it was blown away with such a fresh new take on vampires, before that it was the Christopher Lee Dracula franchise that was always in the 1800s , Fright Night happening in modern days was just so great !! I seriously don't know what to think! I truly love Mr. Holland!! God Bless you sir for FRIGHT NIGHT!!! Michael and Jessica thank you for this extraordinary gift! I used to write stories, just goofing off with thoughts and dreams! WOW meeting Mr. Holland I love all his stories and love he pours into his work! I had just graduated from high school a couple of years when the movie was released! I was curious, I had not even heard of the movie! The city still had a drive in theater at that time, so my brother and a couple of friends packed in my car to go! I had the greatest time that night, the sky had a cloud here and there, the moon was big beautiful setting the mood perfectly! I had been a big fan of Roddy since the planet of apes movie, to see him in a movie again I was excited! I just by accident saw the movie and have been a big big fan of Mr. Holland's work ever since!!! Thank you for all those writer's out there that you have helped come alive with your thought process, imagination and work you have done Mr. Holland ❤🦇 MAGICAL!!!

This guy is a genius filmmaker. I remember watching the movie in the theaters in Ga and yes, the doll reveal is a classic moment in horror films. Everybody jumped.
What a great interview! Tom talking about Anthony “Tony” Perkins and ‘Psycho II’ reminded me of Berry Berenson, Tony’s wife (and mother of their 2 kids). A lot of people may not know this but she was on American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11. She was just 53. How sad and tragic. She and Tony Perkins made a great couple.
It’s so good to see Tom Holland on an episode of The Grimm Life Collective. I love his movies! I just watched ‘Thinner’ again a few days ago! Fright Night, Fright Night II, Child’s Play, The Temp, the list goes on… Tom is brilliant and I always thought he was pretty good looking! It’s great to see him still thriving. This is my favorite CZcams video of the year, only wish it was longer. Great editing on this, especially the alley scene. Surprised the props have lasted as you see lots are latex and deteriorate. Saw Fright Night at the theater when it came out and watch it probably every couple of years. I like the remake as well, just different enough but keeping the plot similar. Amazing job on this Grimm.

I remember talking my dad into letting me miss a family barbecue at one of my sister's houses so I could stay home and watch Fright Night on cable tv. I'd never seen it before. When my sister found out she drove from two towns away just to pick me up and make me come to the barbecue, telling me "We've got cable tv too." So while 50+ people were out back around the pool I was sitting in the living room alone, eyes glued to the television. I've always been a horror fanatic.
As soon as I seen Fright Night clicked fast! I’ve seen the film at least 50x and loved this interview, just wow! I’m gonna buy the books! ❤
