I recently did soft white underbelly and I’d love to be on this podcast!
Novak is such a genuine human. Thank you for your insight
Novak is a perfect representative of being able to get sober and changing your life for the better. He was a junkie to the extreme and luckily got out of it before he died. Addicts don’t have as much time as he did to get clean now either because Novak was on heroine instead of fentanyl back in the day. They need to get off of the drugs quick nowadays because that fentanyl makes it a very fast ticking time bomb.
I was an addict for 15 years I watched Brandon's narcotics anonymous lead on CZcams when I was in rehab and it was the first time I realized someone as bad off as I was could change their life. I've been sober over 800 days now.
Comments going to be full of crackheads
congrats, i am still working on sobriety every day myself. @@jeffchapman678
Ironically, Bam was always on his case and now the roles are reversed, except Bam will probably be the one who meets an early grave.
As someone clean from heroin for a year now. He’s a huge inspiration..
So proud of bandon and his sobriety. He's a legend!!!!! So many wrote him off years ago and look at him now
1 year sober . If your struggling with addiction just know you are loved and sobriety and a happy life is possible. You just have to want kt for yourself
i love listening to brandon. i got sober from fentanyl in 2020 & seeing his content really helped me understand sobriety. i was really struggling with going to meetings & staying clean. listening to him talk really put it into perspective for me. thankful for this awareness i didn’t have before.
As an addict thank you helped me come to a lot of realization when I was in treatment and out in the real world overcome struggles
I’ll never forget hearing Brandons story and watching him tell it on CZcams when I was in an inpatient treatment center 23 months ago. It was the most amazing story I’ve ever heard from an addict, and such a significantly motivating experience!! I’m beyond grateful to say that in another month I’ll have 2 years sober!! Everything he shared about recovery on this podcast is absolutely the truth, life only continues to get better when you keep doing the next right thing! Congrats Brandon, on all of your accomplishments and thank you for what you do for the recovery community! #WeDoRecover #OneDayAtATime
Glad you made it through! ♥️🙏
Amen! Got over 4.5 years now! Wouldn’t change it fer anything!!
Congrats on 2 years! I remember that was monumental.
@@jtm322 Amazing! Congrats, that’s a big accomplishment! 💪
@@DiLLY_V92 Thank youuu!🙏🏼 It definitely has been for me as well! ☺️
This was a weird full circle type moment for me watching this. In middle school my friends and I all had the CKY videos on VHS; I watched probably every episode of Viva La Bam and Jackass. A lot of my friends skated and we were always getting chased away from buildings and parking lots because back then it seemed like our city's biggest issue was teenagers grinding the rails outside of the tech school and the court house, or doing our own dumb stunts and being "disruptive". I've also had an extraordinary amount of people close to me throughout my life who have battled addiction and fought some of my own demons. I've seen people hit the lowest points in their lives, and I've been to more funerals of people I loved who lost their fight than I can count. I've followed Brandon's story for a long time and have watched what he's chosen to share about his journey to getting clean. I've been working in the recovery field now for 8 years, first in a residential program for teenage girls in early recovery, and now in my state's only detox program for teens, and I've often had my clients watch his documentary and interviews he's done about his journey. Listening to him talk about the importance of getting people into treatment regardless of financial barriers made me cry. I see how broken this system is every day; how greedy and selfish people can be, and how heartless it is to turn someone away because they can't afford treatment. I see people with no money and no insurance going to into state funded programs that treat them like trash, give them a 5 day spin dry, and send them right back out to the streets with no resources and it kills me, so hearing him talk about that gives me hope that eventually compassion and a sincere desire to lift others up regardless of what they have to offer will win over greed.
I hope you all have a safe and happy new year!
Brandon seems like such a caring person and a really nice guy its great to hear that he is helping other addicts out, he seems to be really wearing his heart on his sleeve now.
Brandon has been an inspiration for me with his recovery. Its a tough battle, one only those are fortunate will understand. Brandon's kept me clean a few days at a time with his story. Thank you for sharing
Stay strong brother 👊 As an addict myself (30 years..,) I know how hard it can be.
Keep going 1 day 1hr 1 min you got this
Ignorance is bliss. Wish I never got a taste of the poppy
Methadone saved me 11 years
Danny, your podcast has grown so much! The audio, the cameras, the studio and lighting, and last but not least your choice in guests! Its a pleasure to watch man! BRAVO and Happy New Year!!!
Hi Brandon!!, thank you again for my 5th B-DAY cake on the show!! You were pivotal in my (our) recovery and we love you!
What an amazing interview. Viva la Brandon. Thanks Danny
7:48 “He was around just enough to let us know he was not around.”
Damn that whole description hit really close to home!
Novak bro you made it!! I know momma is proud! Congratulations man! Keep on keepin on 🤙🏻
This was so much more inspiring and entertaining g than I initially thought it'd be. What a stud. Thx for having this interview
I love Brandon’s way of communicating sobriety. Thanks again man.
I cant tell how much this podcast did for me born and raised in Baltimore myself this hit real close to my heart and home. Currently I am still living within 4 miles of were I grew up near West Bmore close to Pratt & Monroe. I have been struggling off and on with addiction for years, with some really good stretches but its back to a downward self sabotaging spiral. After doing "okay" for a while. This podcast came right at the right moment in time and youre absolutely right about being exactly where we're supposed to be. Thanks Danny and huge thank you Brandon for all the work you're doing.
I’m so psyched to see Novak in a good place and continuing it with sobriety after all of these years.
WOULDNT BELIEVE A WORD HE SAYS. HE SEEMS TO BE MORE OF A WORKING ADDICT OR ON METHADONE
built from the depths. i went through heroin addiction as well and this message of not going through it but growing through it is the best way to articulate the journey to sobriety. thanks BJ fr.
This hits too close. Having been through drug addicts, sexual assault, drug addiction, physical & mental abuse, but having clawed my way to a wonderful family.
This was amazing. I watch all of Brandon’s interviews and this is one of my favorites for sure. Salute Novak
Oh wow! Didn’t see this one coming! Glad Novak is well 🙏🏼
Wow, I was not expecting this one at all, very well done here Danny. I actually just watched his video “Tomorrow is going to be better” and highly recommend it for anyone interested in his stuff beyond this. It’s truly heartwarming to see him on here honestly. I’m sure I’m just one of the many who grew up watching the boys of jackass/Viva la bam and their shenanigans, and if I’m speaking honestly, I almost always felt very badly for Novak while watching him throughout the show. To me it always seemed as if they picked on him more than the others and that he was always having a hard time, just those vibes I guess and couldn’t ever quite place my finger on what made me feel that way. Little did I know that he was fighting for his very life all while making us laugh but it makes sense now looking back. However sad it may be/been, for Novak to be here with Danny sharing his story and encouraging others to change their lives for the better is nothing short of a miracle, just as he said, and brings me immense joy. Not sure if you’ll ever see this bro but your story is one of the best out there and just glad you’re using it to make the world a better place. We love and support you Brandon, just keep your head up and stay strong! 😌💪 if anyone is interested in that video of his then I’ll put the link below! It’s a great watch/listen and really puts things into perspective. Great job again Danny! Keep up the great work! Also really glad to see hatrack making a return on here as well! Glad he’s doing alright, tell him to appear on here more lol.

I know Brandon won't see this but last month I was in a really dark place and I started watching his recent interviews and man they pulled me out of that spot and I went to seek out the help I needed!!
First time watching here. Hi 👋🏻. But I’m subscribing cause I’ve watched all y’all most of my life even when I was on drugs 😂 I’m 3 years or so clean and sober now. Love y’all ✌️

I remember watching Novak on Villa La Bam years ago. I didn't think he would make it much longer if he kept using. Look at Novak now. He looks absolutely AMAZING!!! I'm genuinely very happy for him!!

Proud and happy for Novak!
honestly a breath of fresh air of a personality.
Thank you Novak ! ❤
Just got your book 📖 🙏🙏🙏
Man this nostalgia I feel when listening to Novak. I lived about 40 minutes away from west Chester, where bam and the crew are from. My friends and I would go to west Chester and drive around looking for bam and his crew before they blew up and made it on to MTV
I seen him in bucks county a couple times
Both, Novak and Nam are pals of mine,,,😎
From days of" past& present..
Cool Cats☮️☯️
Good health, long life, and family...
The " powers of good"
Protected good dudes🙏🙏👍😎
I got help through a bup clinic....granted I messed my life up and was in a shit load of trouble when I got accepted into the clinic but over time it helped
Happy he still around. Member watching CKY back in 2002 in 7th grade. Went from oxy to black to needle all the way till 2015. Got sober off all that almost a decade ago. Feels like another life. Love.
We must be 34? Lol
@@chrisrambo8307 just turned 34 on dec 20th 😂 spot on. Still feel young, but feel old when I say my age lolol.
This was dope asf ❤❤
CKY popped off for me and my friends because we are local boys. I live about a half hour from West Chester, and yeah, they were sold in adult shops and skate shops.
Get Novak back! this was a fantastic episode.
great guest another epic ep, thank you! sirs
Novak's mom used to live down the street from me. Helped his mom carry in her groceries one time. Loved to tell you about her son. During the Viva La Bam days, bam rolled into the bar i was tending with like 30 people at lunch and crushed me. I couldn't make the shots fast enough. Bam threw up 3 times. 😂
didnt see this coming! :)
Man, I remember watching a heartbreaking scene of Bam losing his shit at Novak in the shed for doing drugs. I remember thinking to myself, I hope that guy makes it. Over 15 years later, he made it. Good job Novak, seriously, good fucking job!
Novak is an awesome guy!....CKY shaped my pre teens/early teens as well....my buddy just got our cassette's converted
Im stoked hatrack is back!!
For real same cky2k and bams creation of that is what I grew up on I was a bad kid haha always trying y one up the homies and push things as far as possible lol. I’ll always be that kid at heart and I have got to meet novak at the local skate park I grew up at in my town in IL for one of my friends father Tim Ryan his son Nick passed away and Tim was with banyan and had a memorial service at the skatepark putting in a Bench at the park dedicated to his son Nick Ryan (Issac) #ripnick man. I read novaks book dream seller in 2009 and got to speak with him about it that day at the memorial and novak was freshly sober still on suboxone I’m sure or atleast just got off it and just started working with banyan and Tim Ryan. I’m so proud of him and Tim and what they do. And now seeing Bam doing a amzing is incredible makes me happy asf. ❤
@brandon novak ❤soo much love for you and all cky... inspiration ❤ skate or die
CKY was amazing at the age of 21 and then going to see the band play live with those classic rifs from the videos was a real shift in what was "viral"
Always good to see him doing well but If you have seen one Brandon interview you have seen them all
yep he's been saying the same stuff for years and years
Brandon is the absolute man! So good to see what he used to serve now serving him and saving others
Love this dude
CKY inspired me to start a band and start skating street.
I’m going to assume this is two hours of the same rehearsed ish Brandon Novak says on every podcast the last 10 years.
As someone who grew up in the same era as Novak, with similar friends and social circle (which led to similar addiction issues, and so on and so on.......) Novak seems genuine and real. And IF You know, You know.
I would like to have a conversation with Novak about addiction, and, if he thinks addiction NOW, is the same as it was then....
Or for NO other reason than to know for sure if he really is who he says he is.
Hell yeah!!
This is dope
I remember watching Landspeed on Limewire back in the 90's
We must be close to the same age , cky defined my childhood as well
Dude is magnetic. Friggin transfixing to listen to.
I can relate so much to Novak
"steal your shit, lie, possibly die in your living room......kinda frowned upon" hahahah
This is the first time i seen him actually look fully sober
novak is a legend!
Dunn would be stoked
Can't watch now, but I bet this will be good! I was watching cky videos when bam was actually a skater....pre 2000's
me too
Shit!
I grew up on Bones Brigade.
The last skate video I seen was Subzero (Philly) from 1994 ish.
I’m old 😂
Danny in the Duvin lg!
love Duvin
24:24 Bradon is a great example for people who want to get sober, I grew up on Jackass and followed him. He will also actually SPEAK TO YOU PERSONALLY. Ive heard his story many times, But I've always wondered were those 3 socks at least pairs?!?
I just did the channel soft white underbelly and I’d love to come on this podcast!
Danny catching Novak off guard with all his cartel knowledge 😂
I got a copy of dreamseller from the goodwill for a dollar, still haven't read it but I will
sick
Danny Jones skateboard content should be a thing
idk.. my parents bought my burial plot already too.. a while ago tho.. been clean 4 years now
Oh so the same podcast/interview he's already done 3000 times, we get it bro you got sober and you're enlightened.
Im happy for Novak 💯. Steve-O might've said it perfectly that Novak might be too sober as in he takes it too seriously. I do understand different strokes for different folks but nevertheless i am very very happy and proud of him. I bet his mom is on cloud 9 with her new and improved son
Think what might help Bam is if the world called him Brandon.
Yeah it became a nickname in the beginning for him when he was young but it slowly became a character.
Which he was living the character for years after Dunn Died.
Yoo, Danny, you were slick with "well, you got the most use out of it" during the...anus segment.
Bro just said, "I did!" 😂
Thank you for another illuminating captivating discussion, sir.
So tough
CKY is a huge part of World History
TALKED 2 NOVAK ON HERE GREAT GUY VERY INSPIRING🙏☮️♥️✝️ #yOunG 🪖🌴🕊️
What's with the huge fudd sounds in the back ground . At first I thought I was imagining it .
When he said bam was saying hurtful things I started crying bro fuck
It’s hard for people that have never experienced addiction to understand what active addiction feels like inside. All they see are the outward manifestations they don’t see the broken parts inside that need to heal in order for the addict to have a somewhat normal life. I’ve been clean for 7 years and my life is good but I still find myself having to deal with my demons occasionally because I know if I don’t they will get bigger and consume me. As addicts we really are just one bad choice from being back in the pit.
small detail…..and I know it’s not the most vital aspect to this podcast…..but, the whole Alf story….writer Jerry Stahl used to write for Alf-among other shows-while HEAVILY strung out on drugs….HIS book Permanent Midnight was his first book/ autobiography…..the movie of the same name starred Ben Stiller-Ben Stiller played Jerry Stahl…..
