Attended both nights - lots of highlights - Having a preference for Doyle it was no surprise I absolutely enjoyed every second of the renditions of this Yardbirds classic!

    Very cool.
This song is where it all started for me.
I'm 8 in '65 and my older sister buys the single.
Great of course. Flip it over and there's a tune called Steeled Blues, credited to some guy named Jeff Beck.
    I loved it. Lifer.

Man would have been epic if page was there and played all the Yardbird songs with Eric and trucks. Would have been cool for page to also play a few songs he and Jeff cut their teeth in together. Set: shapes of things, rice pudding, Becks bolero, you shook me, IMTOD. Closer STH

It would have been great yeah, but tbh if Page is not in condition to play anymore, better give him some rest...

No mention of the guy playing lead and singing? Doyle Bramhal II, he's much better than Derek Trucks, mind you he kinda sucked here, played it way too laid back.

This song (with its sorrow-feel) must have inspired generations of British indie-rock bands; It epitomises the pop rock and blues mix that became characteristic of so many Uk bands. The 1965 U.S single vinyl cover features Clapton, when he had actually left band when this was released.

Not sure what is going on with DB’s voice…try some Arc Angels like Living in a Dream. His voice is great. Maybe hard living?
