you are a life saver dude!!
Awesome video dude. Thanks.
Great video! Thanks!
First, I would like to congratulate you for the video. Second, I would like to know if it works on other SBC's? For example Orange Pi or Banana Pi
when you try connect with monitor can spotify app show display track? thanks
Hi Sorry im late to the party.
Is there a way to always boot up a specific playlist (and start it )?
thanks for this great video!
is it possible to set a "start volume" for the raspberry?
I'm not sure. My though is the volume is whatever the Pi was most recently set to
is there a way you can just turn on the ras pi and it only plays out the speaker kinda like the google speaker! i want to create my own radio station that plays only my music for my fans
Hey! i've got a problem, when i hit the device on the spotify list it just stays "connecting..." and never connects, on the terminal it was showing: dropping truncated packet from (and i think it was like an ip)
Does anyone know a fix?
Thank you so much. Strait forward steps 👌 However, much issue that I have an older Pioneer receiver, which amazingly supports AirPlay. BUT I thought I might somehow be able to use Raspberry Pi to host Spotify for streaming from Android phones for example. Would it be realistic? If so, how can I achieve the goal? Any advice please? Cheers :)
Isn't that what this video is literally about?
I get "No such file or directory" after starting the daemon. Even with sudo :(
Had the same problem; I had to use 32-bit OS for Pi 4. That worked.
Thank you very much! Just wanted to point sth out, maybe it will help other people: For me, it did not exactly work, like you showed in the video. I could see the RaspberryPi in Spotify Connect on my Phone or PC, but I could not connect to it. I am using a headlesse RaspberryPi for Music Streaming. The solution for me was, using the longer config file. This file is shown in the spotifyd documentation (or "wiki") under Nr. 2.2 "configuration file". This file gives more options to the user, especially "useMpries=true" which is needed to be set to "false" for headless environments.
Not that much in to IT but I'm planning to get my pi soon(ish) what's headless pi?
@@silver7788 Headless means, that the Computer (Pi) does not provide a GUI (grafic interface e.g. "Desktop" of a Windows-PC). You can only use the CLI.
@@kanalnameneingeben9026 oh good to know, thx.
I'm planning to have a touchscreen and GUI to control it, kinda like the official "car thing" from Spotify. Now I know which thing to avoid.
hi!! i wanted to know what version of raspberry pi was required, thank you!!
I'm using Bullseye but this will probably work with Buster, too. I think all of the modern Pi's are able to run this package
can you do this and run a python script at the same time ?
yo does this work with retro pi
Can you download the music locally on the Pi and listen offline like you can with a phone or pc?
I don't think there's a way to do this. It would probably violate the end-user agreement so Spotifyd can't add the feature :(
Great video! But i got an error.. when doing the last bit. ./spotifyd --no-daemon is giving me "bash: ./spotifyd: No such file or directory". What can i do to fix it? Thanks in advance
Hi did you manage to figure it out?
@@leadoffsteam5614 nope…
@@oewps4589 maybe too late, but you need raspbian 11 (bullseye)
10 doesn't work because of the missing glibc 2.29 (raspbian 10 uses glibc 2.28)
I’m getting the same thing. I’m using Raspian 11.
try using 32bit OS for raspberry (also Pi 4)
HI! I was trying to set up my Raspberry Pi 1 B to play Spotify. Every time I used Spotify to connect to it, I would get a message saying:
Loading with Spotify URI
(187952 ms) loaded
Audio Sink Error Connection Refused: Device hw May be Invalid, Busy, or Already in Use, ALSA function 'snd_pcm_open' failed with error 'UnknownErrno: Unknown errno'
I don't know how to fix it.
como faço para sair no "bluetooth"?
is it possible to play the music on a bluetooth speaker using spotifyd? it doesnt work for me and i dont understand why
It should be possible. Are you able to use the Bluetooth speaker with your Pi for things other than spotifyd?
@@SamWestbyTech thanks for your response. The speaker/bluetooth connection works fine except when i try the spotifyd
you ever try powering a raspberry pi using a solar panel?
I have not but that could be a fun project
Can't type anything when it gets to the password part not sure why
When I click enter it says permission denied, please try again
It just hides what you type, type your password and press enter. Its normal if you dont see anything being typed
always stop after 10 minutes, why?
user and password is soptify or raspbarry pi
Spotify ! :=)
hello. The link you leave in the comment does not lead to the commands and I can't find the file, please, can you give me the direct link to it?
username and password are those of spotify? gracias¡¡
Bing AI brought me here. 👍🏿
