I've observed that Marcus Aurelius often expresses my thoughts more eloquently than I can. Consequently, I'm contemplating the idea of committing my thoughts to writing rather than solely relying on spoken words. This shift is motivated by the recognition that spoken words can be fleeting, easily forgotten over time.
And then Commodus walks in and creates the crisis that doomed the whole empire. The moment when father is compared to Augustus and son is worse than Elagabalus (because Commodus reign continued for 13 years, not 4)
The one big mistake he made was to not do the same things for his own son, that was done for him self by Hadrian and Antoninus pius by giving Marcus Aurelius the best tutors, the best philosophers of the time.He did none of that for his son and left him all alone to go party and fuck. And to only his wife’s request that he turn her own son into a man,at witch he did,he got him and the troops in good terms and showed his son how to fight.showed him little of the senate.those were his mistakes witch were huge.
If he was able to be revived and see how is his son doing he would have a stroke and died again.
