One of my favorite facts about the motion capture is they they also tried to motion capture the mouths of the performers. And looking at comparisons between the performers and animation, they had pretty good tech. If they had time to fine tune their models a bit more, the show would probably have been more visually applauded. Season 2 did not use mocap, so that's an exception to everything, but season 1 should be acknowledged for the skillful execution of finicky technology. It's just a shame that their choreography was a bit goofy.
I saw an upload of a full demo by the animation company that supplied the tech. The mouths are not mocapped, but actually is much different. The parts of the face (mouth, eyes, teeth, etc.) each have preprogrammed expressions, which are then used in tandem by a rigger. The tech is intended to be used to animate in real-time, so the face rig was a glove where the voice actors would flex their fingers to change expressions, while the body actor would have to predict what movement would match with the incoming inflection. I'm not sure if the show was also recorded this way, but the possibility is there.
