      I had always thought Sharon outranked him given her comment about him not being her ECO and just a refugee in one of the early episodes. But if he was a reserve officer like Lee (a later episode has Lee listed as CFR for Colonial Fleet Reserve) then it's very possible for him to have an earlier commissioning date than Boomer.
      The show plays a little loose with seniority among officers with the same rank. At the beginning of Season 2 Captain Kelly is established to be the next highest ranking officer in the CIC after Adama and Tigh, but by the end of Season 2/beginning of Season 3 an officer that started the show as a Junior Leutenant who has since been promoted to Captain seems to out rank Kelly. Trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible so I'm leaving the promoted officer unnamed, but in episode 4 of season 3 he says the line, Launch, launch them all." during one of the coolest moments of the show.

    When you mentioned the "lighting is atrocious", usually when a film/show looks like that, they shoot with filters and adjust the color in the scene afterward to simulate night time when their filming schedule only has time to shoot a scene during daytime... or just changed day to night because it makes more sense for continuity/ story timeline.

  • @michaelnuzzo5698
    @michaelnuzzo5698 Před 2 měsíci +3

    The real reason Caprica looks like that is that they're using a filter to make it look like nighttime. They'd said Helo wouldn't move until night then used a blue filter to make you think it was night. It's cheaper than actually shooting at night because you don't have to set up lights for it.
    The movie Nope developed a new day-for-night technique: they used an infrared camera to filter the color.

    You will find that most characters will end up having layers and layers that they will slowly reveal and you will have a few moments of "oh shit" that explains stuff. The more you learn about them the more you will understand some of their earlier decisions. I always enjoyed the character/dialogue writing in this show, I think its one of its main strength. And Adama's office/room is probably my favourite set on the show. So many great scenes in that room. And the gravitas he has on screen is unbelievable, even knowing what exactly happen in every episode I feel like he is probably one of the main reason why the show was so successful.
    That being said, Tigh has always been my favourite character. You will understand much later why.

    You can’t expect Baltar to be twirling his mustache evil when he didn’t intend any of this. His fatal flaw is that he is weak, over-powered by his egotism, hyper-sexuality, selfishness … all the things that allowed him to be so easily manipulated by the Cylons. He’s an amazingly complex character (on a series loaded with ‘em) and you’re going to be wowed by James Callis MANY times throughout this series. What makes the show so great is simpley how human the characters are... These are not perfect people like Star Trek TNG... They're real every day people with problems, and trauma who are forced together and have to make do with what they have. And it benefits from having so much good talent and direction. Like in the previous episode When Adma and Starbuck are talking, and Olmos is just radiating hostility while acting Calm.. You could see he was playing the dual role of William Adama (angry as hell because his son died) and The Commander (col calm and in control). That quality of acting was rare back then in TV. The thing is, the characters are so real that I can see myself in them... If something like this was to happen, could I see myself hopping into a Viper and doing combat?. Yes. I'd hate it, the very idea of combat and war scares the shit outa me. But I'd still do it knowing all the guys and gals I'm flying with are probably in exactly the same position and that it's a job somebody has to do.
