@@APersonTM if i remember correctly this was after jim left scranton and did not have any contact with pam anymore, he thought she had gone ahead with the wedding with roy. Here he was invited to do business with the scranton branch (thats why michael, dwight and jan i here) even tho he was working at stamford. Basically him and pam were not talking at all at this point, hope that makes sense.

It's a shame so many of these "Michael is surprisingly competent at his job" scenes ended up on the cutting room floor over the years. It makes it feel more realistic.... Michael is actually great at the business/sales portion of the job, he's just such a train wreck personally that he always overreaches and makes it weird when trying to manage his employees.
The part with the Hammermill products didn't get cut if I recall correctly. Only like half of this scene as shown is actually "deleted"
This scene wasn't actually deleted at all. The whole thing is in the episode. Maybe they just titled it that way to get people to click on it

Looking back Michael should have gotten a lot more credit for that. There should have been a large group taking him out to celebrate, a large bonus, and considering later episodes a large reluctance to let him go later on.

The show frequently points out that Michael is significantly better at being a salesman than being a branch manager. Man should have just stayed at what he’s good at and had a lot less responsibility.
@@SpiralSine6 he wasnt a bad branch manager, it showed his branch was consistently successful even though the rest of the company was struggling. even if his management style was off the shits, he knew how to sell and knew what was needed to keep the business running effectively.
