Uzbeks NEVER speak Russian or English in public...despite being fluent!

They speak Russian.
They speak English.
But they only speak Uzbek in public.
They are too proud of their language and culture! Which is admirable...but makes it really difficult as a foreigner in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan says NO to Russia. Like not anymore. Uzbeks have their own beautiful language, the language of Navai, Babur. Before Russians came to Centra Asia, Chaghatai (old Uzbek) was a shared literary language among all the nations in the region

Uzbekistan does not say No to Russia. Its actually pro Russia.
It’s not language of Navai or Babur, It’s Turkic language, and Turkic language is used by many countries such as Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, Kymyki, Balkary, Uyghuri, and many others… Uzbekistan is one of those Turkic states. The thing is when you travel to those countries as a Turkic person, you don’t often have to need translators (interpreters)

Brayden, aren't you jumping to conclusions based on a single case? This case looks to be a very rare exception tbh. It's rare that Uzbek people in Uzbekistan would refuse to speak Russian in an Uzbek restaurant or generally in Uzbekistan. 99 per cent of places have no issue and speak Russian or even English. Some shops speak Chinese, Turkish, Urdu, Farsi, Uygur

Just living in the city and only considering them as a whole Uzbek population is wrong😂 because in other regions most people can't speak russian, here in Tashkent most people might know Russian. That's why you think 99% of population speaks Russian. Tashkent is not a whole Uzbekistan😂😂😂
