    LOVE the look of this Grand Power pistol. They have their own sort of look, and this model to me, nails it.
    We've heard and to some extent see that they make very accurate pistols. How about putting an optic on it and having a 25 yard or a 50 yard video shooting from a bench at paper targets with its favorite ammo to see how tight of groups it can shoot

    I love your coverage of the more obscure firearms. This one came on my radar as a result of your channel and I've been growing more interested in it as time progressed. Great review. I have been looking Forward to this since your video from your trip to Slovakia!
    I really like your what will it eat tests. Seeing how much fun you are having the your videos infectious! After the X-caliber 23 video i was curious to see if the match would br worth the extra money. Appears that it's worth it.
    The only fault I see is that you don't have a rear sight if you install an optic.
    Thanks again. You make a fantastic representative for the Grand Power pistols

    I blame Graham for my Grand pow5er addiction! For my birthday in March I decided to add the Mk23 as my 7th Grand Power firearm.
    I find Graham's reviews to be spot on with my own personal preferences and handguns. It is a very accurate and smooth recoil impulse in my opinion. I find the felt recoil to be similar to an all alloy handgun. There is a slight difference between polymer frames and metal frames.
    The option to add red dot optic is a plus. The optic I find very helpful and accurate (I Wear glasses).
    I have compared the Mk12 and 23 against my Canik Rival SFX and TP9 SFX (5.2 inch barrels). I prefer the Grand Powers because of that smoother felt recoil. Actually I prefer all the Grand Powers from the P1 to X-Calibur. That is why I now own seven.
    Thank you Graham for your informative videos and reviews. I have found them to be a step above the majority of CZcams reviewers. Keep up the excellent work and thank you again for all you do.

      Your questions are exactly why I created this: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/the-grand-power-pistol-guide Note that the guide is for the Mk12 generation which is being replaced by these Mk23 models. The good news is they take the same magazines and the mk12s are being blown out, so the prices are much lower than what's listed in the article.

  • @wbwills2

    GB. Another great video. Thx. Have been noticing your #5.first time im aware of you mentioning it. That’s a cool thing. There’s got to be at least 4 special ppl in & around that factory that got one. That makes you #1 American in their eyes. That’s a cool deal. Toss it around a little. That’s not being boastful whatsoever in my opinion. Unless you’re at a grand power convention rubbing it in the face of your buddy who has #999999 for about the 100th time & giggling. Might get your ear thumped at that point.don’t.or do. UptoU. The auto feed. I don’t have or handle near as many guns as you. I am slamming old mags in newer guns,newer mags in old guns ect. R now. Drops shut some time ..After break in.?.?More auto feed later on. Maybe. Hmmm.?.?I don’t have my GP X or GP anything,yet, but after all is said and done prefer & getting the old one with bare SS heavy fluted barrel if I can find it when I’m ready to buy. Blue fluted #2 choice. & depending on how that goes,will figure out if a 2nd is a must.and if so ,try different caliber..,.??carry a ultra in 9 or a regular k 100 I found on sale that would put me in the 3-4 GP having range. Then I’d be able to have an opinion about something & possibly a tad of input that might have eluded yall.. I doubt that last part but,never know. New eyes on something .All of them are killer !get the no bull barrels allowed in competitions thing. With it being aimed at the competition crowd. But I don’t compete,sooo..that’s the gun that’s going to be in a nice shoulder rig with 2-3 mags or however many it takes to roughly counter balance the weight on other side.sometimes in a drop leg ,on hip sometimes..just a cool gun for wearing around when appropriate. Camping,woods yard work,grocery shopping. Whatever. I have been wondering about the new ones. The peg..that rides in the AK like rotation slot.Excusethe advanced armorers lingo there....dose it spin or is it set in a fixed position. I don’t know that one would be better than the other but still wonder. Seems like it might be a hair smoother if it rolled. It’s a micro second controlled explosion ,It is how it is & I’m leaning towards mk12 anyway but inquiring minds still want to know.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 7 měsíci

      The piin is fixed in the Mk23. If you want a Mk12 I suggest getting one sooner than later as I doubt they'll continue simultaneous manufacturing or importation.

  • @royk164
    @royk164 Před 7 měsíci +1

    I think you should start testing with a red dot . Lots of OLD coots like me need red dot help. Also, adding the weight of a red dot, (407c, 1.5 oz) MAY make a differance with some guns.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 7 měsíci +2

      The problem then would also be WHICH red dot as malfunctions from brass bouncing off the glass depends on the shape, size, and angle of that glass. A gun could quite possibly run great with one dot and not with another depending on ammo choice and how firm or soft the shooter's wrist is. It simply adds too many variables that misrepresent the shooting experience. I' not opposed to revisiting a gun after the initial review with a dot mounted, but I don't think it's fair to any gun to review it with a dot on it.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz Před 7 měsíci

      Noooo.
      Old coots don't need red dots anymore than anyone else.
      I'm an "old coot" (enough to get a discount at Waffle House anyway😂) who has carried a sidearm at work for over thirty years.
      We teach "front sight, front sight, front sight" instead of "sight alignment, sight alignment, sight alignment" during handgun courses for good reasons.
      All about the mechanics. It's not so much the eyes that go with old shooters, it's the commitment to the fundamentals.
      Yes, I do use pistol dots, but around 90% of my training is without. Fundamentals is fundamentals, and dots generally do more to hinder fundamentals (vulnerability of human nature) than help.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 7 měsíci +4

      I think they don't port because the barrel rotates. It would be one heck of an engineering feat to time where the ports should be, especially since 9mm loads have such a wide variety of velocities and pressure impulses.
