One principle that traditional animators have to master is solid drawing where animators have to draw forms instead of flat shape, and the ability to draw the forms in any angle really helps to give this illusory depth and form. Such a shame that as we progress with the advent if technology, 2d animations have become less about art and more about making money in short time. Solid drawing and many other principles of animation are left out. But fortunately, the eastern sakuga animations have opened the eyes of westerners to appreciate the beauty of frame by frame animations again.
It’s weird and interesting seeing Russel Crowe as Sinbad. I know he was originally going to play Sinbad but now that I’ve seen this I’m getting a pirate vibe and with Brad Pitt a swash buckling vibe.
1. great animation per usual, i mean c'mon its james baxter, no one can beat him 2. i love their beta designs before the final product 3. this is an underrated gem of a movie and 4. its smooth has crap and its awesome
@@xxzzz7467 Like it makes no sense. James baxter has a realistic animation style, there are plenty of other animators whose style isn't as fluid but the animation is JUST as valid. I'd feel really weird if I somehow got good at animation, and someone said "woah! You're even better than aimkid!" I hate it when "compliments" put down other people
@@Xenderman yeah, I don't think they had bad Intentions but essentially they don't matter, the influence does. Art is unique and personal to each artist and there is no "ideal" in art. Some artists prefer their drawings to be realistic but I like drawing them cartoony and the features to be more exaggerated than they are in real life. None of the art is "bad" and still, people manage to put artists down solely because they have a different or maybe even an unusual style. It's rude and it makes the artist, who spend time and effort on their work, feel unworthy. You can have your own personal preference and that's fine but there is no "general ranking" or "good or bad" in art. Each work is special and worthy enough on its own
Yeah sadly this type of smooth animation is no longer thing, but it still has potential to come back, mainly Klaus with the animation being 2D while looking 3D. I hope this type of animation comes back and maybe improve upon it just how Klaus did.
Really, this and a good story is all I need to enjoy a cartoon. I don't care about every single hair on meridian's head or every thread in Elsa's robe. Just give me quality animation, emotions, good dubbing and most importantly a story.

how many frames drawn per second?

Dreamworks's sinbad

Is this a homework? If so was it from the same teacher who made students draw a character head rotation and say "meow"?

24, sometimes even 12FPS for some frames
