You’re a G for linking all the knives. Saves me tons of googling time. Thanks bro.
Can you do a video about best self defense fixed blades
@@griffinmeyer37 IMO any fixed blade over 4.5" would easily be fatal but something like the SOG desert dagger would be my choice- if you're using a knife for SD things are really going wrong though and IMO if you want a tool for lethal force for SD you really should get a firearm.
@@joelglanton6531 for sure a firearm is better. But 2 things, one I was just curious I find SD knives fascinating, and 2 im under 18 so i cant own a firearm or a knife with a blade longer than 5.5in
@@joelglanton6531 thanks for the tips I’ll check that one out
It's ok folks. The Benchmade has a nice sharp choil designed specifically for striking a ferro rod. He didn't use the edge.
I was ready to murder him, thank you for saving his life and me a prison sentence
I thought thats what the backbone is for ?
Edit: spine, not backbone. Had the right idea, tho...
So, they either wasted space or made the index choke too sharp to use - for what purpose? They have the entire spine of the knife for that, sans the two inches for jimping at the base.
^^ exactly, completely useless if you have a 90° spine lol
Thanks for calming me down
I have the cold steel SRK. I absolutely love it
Love seeing more fixed blades.
That Spyderco bow river looks like a great design. I'm really hoping they come out with an upgraded steel version
The whole point of the bow river was an affordable fixed blade, because they didn't previously have any in their lineup, if they made a nicer version, it would defeat the purpose of its place in the lineup....that being said if you want similar ergos just buy one of sypercos many already existing fixed blades at a higher price point
@@unohotbox 1: they don't carry any fixed blades that resemble this knife at all. I can't think any with blade flex like this.
2: their tenacious lineup has had great success with steel upgrades.
3: this is just a great blade design and could benefit with different material options. That's just good business
@@drewpfeif5028 agree to disagree bud
The design goes back to the 18th century as a French trade, knife or simple, patch knife. This specific design, granted being modernized just a little bit, has been common for well over 250 years and for a reason.
@@jasonjulian1 I never noticed that it resembles the old trade knives. Very cool. Phil Wilson designed this to be more of a fishing knife with some flex in the blade. A little different purpose than a trade knife but you can definitely see where he got his inspiration from
The Pillar is the perfect knife. Not a single issue, checks every box and then some. The balance and blade strength are phenomenal. It’s a beautiful and fully functional super knife. The micarta handle feels absolutely amazing and the sheath is freaking awesome.
Agreed 100%
Thankfully it's not "fictional" and exists in real life.
@@BigDaddySwingingMeat You mean they finally produced one!? My dream has come true! It is now not just fictional fantasy but fully Functional! 👍
@@jnananinja7436 The Pillar is about 6 years old at this point.
@@Daniel.Liddicoat Exactly. Still going strong. I love it!
The sog pillar is definitely my kind of knife. I definitely love fixed bladed knives.
Great vid. Love how you usually put 5 knives instead of 3, you’re straight to the point, and you’re voice is oddly soothing. Keep it up
The coldsteel SRK, in my opinion, is hands down the best budget fixed blade you can get
I’ve heard that sk5 steel is sub par. Do you have that one and if so how do you like it
They're cheap, breakable, throwaway knives. The Gerber Strongarm is superior in every way and it's the real knife the military carries. It's made in America too. The most popular and most tested knife on CZcams
My SP-10 would disagree.
There's not a thing subtle about that 1st big assed knife. Looks like a big old broken sword. I love it
I can’t the pillar… I love it
I got my pillar black out…….. I freaking love it!
I have had my SRK as my battle knife since 2007. I love it. Thing is a BEAST!
I have the srk a really amazing knife would recommend
I didn't know the bow river came in green now. I bought 3 of them when they first came out. Such a great knife.
The Fällkniven F1x is honestly the best knife for the woods you can buy.
Have one in ATS34 only produced in 95-97, 25+ year old knife and its still absolutely amazing. The brand new sheath is takes it to the next level
I'm holding my Bow River in that same finish, I adore the slicey blade on this knife sm
I like how this guy never runs out of knives
Theyre a knife company my friend
And none of them have a "gas station knife" serrated section. Nice!
Well, the Serrated sections on certain knives is for cutting Vines, rope, and much more. But overall, it makes the knife very annoying to use. I do agree, it is a good thing they don’t have that, but in some situations, it can come in handy.
if you work on a boat you NEED serrations
Couldn't agree more on the SRK ;)
I have a Spyderco Bow River. Nice little knife.
I've had my SRK for years, decades? The Spyderco & BM look real nice too!👍
You should do the five cheapest, but excellent fix blades
Buddy, there are 3 things you don't cheap out on: cocaine, lawyers, and knives
@@Ajamz77 and medical supplies
Glock 81 Field Knife
Civivi, SOG, and Cold Steel aren't that much. Benchmade can be a little pricey. And Spyderco is expensive but they make top tier stuff.
Kershaw, Schrade, Estwing, Morakniv and Gerber all made solid knives that are affordable. And by affordable I mean under 100$. If you're only trying to spend like 10$ you're never going to find a stellar knife.
@@Phearsum*cough* $10 Morakniv Companion
Love my sog pillar, perfect knife to me
I have the cold steel and the benchmade, huge price difference, but both great knives. Looking at that Civivi 🤩
Cold Steel just makes great knives. I've had my Ti-lite for 15 years. I was able to cut the bottom off a mini keg like it was butter lol
Could have just been that one, but very sketchy retention on the anonymous. Was enthralled until I barely shook it at a bass pro counter and it fell out. The pillar is a beast tho so far with no concerns there.
These look great and might have to oick one up. Ive had a gerber strongarm and I’ve used it for 3 years or so now for all sorts of bush-crafting. Came surprisingly sharp from the box, has a great sheath, and at a great price!
I like that bench made and that Spyderco good carry size
I loved the second..it's simple and looks badass...
The 2,4 and 5
I love the maxwell.such a cool knife
I pick one up about a month ago. Does not disappoint. Absolutely love it
Love your channel. Just picked up a Schrade Fixed Blade knife from your store and I absolutely love it. Incredible price as well!
Another one, is the off grid knives back country, that’s my favorite fixed blade I own, I got it for Christmas when I was 17 from my mother, it even saved my life one time in a survival situation still have it and it’s holding up to the lifetime guarantee
USMC ka-bar, the SOG trident, the sog government, Cold Steel Master Tanto and Kershaw military boot knife
last 3 are nice, the spyderco looks like it has a nice design but the edge profile seems a little derpy for outdoor use, and the sog's handle is a little too form-fitting for proper comfort when working with wood and all that (more of a 'tactical' sort of knife), the benchmade seems pretty fly, if not as comfortable as the spyderco
Edit: the srk seems like it is pretty decent too with that edge profile and the handle is pretty flat but at least it doesn't have finger grooves
scandi grind is still king though
This video made me order a Pillar! Can't wait to put it to the test
It is a great knife, it performs really good.
I love mine. It’s an amazing knife, can’t really imagine a better one. It’s strong, sharp, nimble, feels great in the hand and the sheath is awesome. I wove para cord through mine..
Super sharp knife
1,2,4and 5 mi favoritas.
Srk and recon tanto are pretty useful in woods
Carried the SRK in Abu Ghraib 04 and 05. Still have it in my garage. Awesome knife.
what did you use it for?
These are gorgeous blades honestly!
I love fixed blades. I carry a WINKLER Crusher Belt knife with rubber handles or a TOOR and Scallywag Tactical collaboration knife called the MUTINY. It is black , and the perfect EDC fixed blade. The WINKLER is perfect for all of my knife tasks. It is perfectly balanced, and it feels really good in hand. The rubber handles are AWESOME in all weather. The sheath is a work of art!!!!
I’ve had my SRT since I was 12. It was passed down to me by my uncle after he was relived from duty after 5 tours as a paratrooper Such an awesome knife
Best knife to EDC?
How many were like... Did you just freakin do that!!
That Maxwell is cool. It's like a more ergonomic looking Tom Brown Tracker.
That first one is like the cross between a knife and a shovel. I bet the big blade makes it a great throwing knife bc the weight is in the blade.
That is sick tbh
I can attest to the Benchmade and the SOG... They're both phenomenal knives. The Benchmade is my favorite of the 2
I've owned about 3 Benchmade knives, and I can say with certainty that it is my favorite knife brand.
@@JosephLobato475576229 I have 6 of them right now...
Bought the Anonimus a week ago, bro. The weight of this thing mixed with its obvious high quality makes this my go to fixed blade.
I rly love the gerber strongarm I have had it for some years now and still love it I came up with a drop leg system for it and it works great still holds a edge on the blade.
They are all awesome, but that last one ❤ 😍. I want to just sharpen it.
I have the Ontario blackbird as a fixed and a we banter as a edc
That CIVIVI though,... love it.
The 3rd one spyder wouldn't have it soon as blood hits the handle it will be very slippery and will not stay in your hand you gotta have a ruff rubber handle to hold on to .
I have the second one And it IS perfect
I love number 2 4 and 5
Cool do you prefer fixed or flop knives😊
Nothing beats my homemade 14" Bowie knife that my dad made from the leaf spring of an old dump truck rear axle. I don't know how y'all personally justify spending the money you do on some of these knives.
I like them all but the first one
SRK is my gold standard for fixed blade and I have like 4 of them on different battle belts and in different survival kits
What do you think of the kabar d2? I'm looking between that and the SRK. Any input is welcome
@@michaelgreen9452 Not a fan of D2. The Ka-Bar is an outdated design with a weak tang. Get a Cold Steel SRK and you have a tool that is affordable, and ready for any situation.
I like the Cicivi. It's like a refined Ka-Bar Warthog
Id really like that spyderco in a darker scale combo
Look at the SKP23 from Schmiedeglut made in Germany. 🔥🔥🔥
The civivi and sog are my fav . I just can't ever justify spending that much on a blade. I just recently bought a 45 dollar kershaw and have almost lost it 3 times now lol
all these knives are a waste of money, no knife needs to cost more than $45
i love all except 3
I don’t know if you have done this one but do the Toor serpent it’s a fixed blade with a tanto blade
Smith and wesson makes nice tanto
i like how mora never gets any love on these
How do you feel about the Gerber strong arm? It’s been my edc for years now and I can’t imagine having another knife.
While the anonymous is pretty cool. That huge finger guard/ choil things gets in the way when cutting on a board or flat surface. I would highly recommend grinding it a little shorter.
I'm a Real Fan of that 🔪 Benchmade Anonymous, Very Noice🤙🏻⚡☘️
last two are..cool
I'm still looking into the Fallkniven F1.
I have that Spyderco and it’s not ready for the woods lol. I only use it in the kitchen and usually have to sharpen it once a month.
I been thinking about getting the bow river since its probably the most affordable as far as i I've seen on amazon or the srk 1
The civivi maxwell knife is nice.
The Spyderco and Benchmade had me.
Solid video.
It's either the SRK or the Anonymous for me out of the 5.
I want that Benchmade.
Getting Civivi and pilar
1,2 and 4 caught my attention immediately
The spydy co is a definitely kitchen/camp knife
God damn, those are some good-looking knives.
Should he take time out of his day to do that.?
You know how I know this list is inadequate? Didn't see Buck anywhere on this list.
Love my SRK!
I watched a couple of your videos and I have yet to see you mention Carrillo, which I have a couple of and they are awesome
SOG branding is horrendous.. too bad, they always got nice stuff
The Pillar is the best knife on here. Probably the best fixed blade made by SOG and it doesn’t have a single weakness. Amazing knife.
That must be the first Spyderco that I actually liked the look of, their folding knives look so goofy
You got my knife. Cool.
Kershaw making some good knives
Totally toys all of them
I'll take the first one.
That srk looks exactly like my s1
Could you do a 5 best knives for scuba diving please?
Omg.. gorgeous
Really sweet
I have the SRK. It's awesome. I just wish it had a striker on the butt. Instead the rubber grip runs all the way down. Other than that it's pretty much perfect.
I actually like that because I use it in the reverse grip (ice pick grip) for self defense with my thumb on the butt of the knife (acting as a brace). That knife is perfect for slashing through a locked seat belt in an emergency or being used for self defense. Love the 3V version.
BENCHMADE!
Did not expect the bowriver here
My vaforite knife srk
