- This is an aired overview on Two Guys Garage of the Power Probe III.
The Power Probe III will let you:
• Power Up Components
• Have Audio feedback
• Voltmeter
• 12 - 24 Volt Range
• 20ft Jumper Lead Set
• Bad Ground Indicator
• Continuity Tester
• Short Circuit Indicator
• Relay and Component Tester
GREAT VIDEO, BUT, in order to use the power probe , it is best to power up the tip, then make contact with the object, rather than make contact and then press the power button, reason for is that it keeps the arc at the end of the tip, rather than at the SWITCH, this way the switch will last muuuuuuuuuuuuuch longer , in case of a overload, it will not burn out the switch prematurely

Just a warning to the buyers of this tool, if it ever goes bad Power Probe won't fix it they want you to buy another one. Great costumer service!! I had mine for years and it suddenly just didn't work so I send it in for repair. Thinking it would be a $40-60 fix but NO they want me to buy a barebone kit to replace it..
I have a Fluke meter, I'm not sure why anyone would ever need one of these things.
riothero313 - Thats exactly what i thought untill i used one myself, it has the ability to supply Live or ground to anywhere you need which can make trouble shooting a problem very quick and easy can also help locate breaks in wires and bad connections with the indicator lights. you can test parts off a vehicle in seconds too.
Its basically a volt meter, continuity tester, test light, and a jumper lead in one small package. if you need to check resistances you can grab a meter just depends on what kind of work your doing.
Power probe would make a fine addition to a tool collector's set. So pretty.

How can you check continuity if you were tracing trailer brake wires? For instance,
if wires to were at the back of a 4-Door Long Bed truck and you were under the dash or in the engine compartment.
How can you check continuity and map out wires on 20 foot wires?

I just bought one the otherday .. Was visiting my brother and his Fan had failed..the Power Probe allowed i=us to drive the fan and find the fault and burnt out relay ..
I actually bought for the same reason for a race car build. This tool is a Gem.

I'm not sure. You could go down to harbor freight and get a noid light tested for pretty cheap and test them that way
now i know how to hot wire the car purple wire under the dash
