    Great little lens. I got it specifically to photograph and video museums and interactive installations.
    I’m not in that line of work anymore, but I just kept it.
    As for rendering I think it’s brilliabt. Rich in tonality, color and contrast just like the Fujicrons. I think people dismiss the rendering based on lacking bokeh alone, but photography is about more than that and this lens delivers beautiful photos.

    Thank you for this video, Luca. I appreciate you giving this little lense some attention.

    Good to see you Luca (and good video). When I first got into digital (Fuji) I got this lens along with XF50 f/2 and the XF35 f/2 (which I recently traded for the XF33 f/1.4). I find the XF16 f/2.8 better than very good, it’s true that I don’t use it very often because for just walking around I use the XF16-80, but I’m definitely keeping it, I have used it many times for landscapes and street “stuff” and it didn’t disappoint. Be well and stay safe.

    This and the 18mm f2 are both under rated lens

    I recently bought this lens and love it so far. I use it mainly on my X-Pro2, X-T5 or X-H2.

    Nice review - I have been thinking about getting this lens for my XT-20 as the wider angle suits what I do much more than the 27mm.

      You'll love it, but also do not dismiss the 18mm F2. It's still a great lens

    Hola he comenzado a seguirte y todo es traduciéndolo al español y veo muy bien tus comentarios y participantes. Me gustaría ayuda ante mi duda que gran angular fijo me aconsejas para la XT4 y XH2, para uso en interiores de monumentos y exteriores. Tengo el 10-24mm f/4 pero necesitaría algo mas luminoso y nítido.
    ¿Cuales son las recomendaciones que me aconsejan ustedes ?

    • @LucaPetraliaPhotography
      @LucaPetraliaPhotography  Před 5 měsíci

      As I mentioned in another answer, the 10-24 should be great for that, but if you need a faster lens I would go with the 11-20 from tamron or 10-18 from Sigma, both F2.8.
      If you need faster than that, the wider the better... My recommendation would be the Viltrox 13mm F1.4

    • @rafaelgarciarico110

      Muchas gracias por la recomendación y creo que buscando tambien la nitidez iré a por el Viltrox 13 @@LucaPetraliaPhotography

    The overall look of the images from the F2.8 is competent, but may not be entirely needed it if you are carrying a 18-55mm or 16-80 (plus you also get OIS on the zooms for non-stabilized bodies).
    For myself, I moved to the 16 1.4 which is such a great lens, with it's close focus distance, wider aperture, and overall sharper more contrasted image. For my smaller Fujicron, I chose the XF 35mm F2, which has a very similar feel to the 16 2.8.
    It's great to have at least one of these smaller lenses be it the XF 16 2.8, XF/XC 35mm F2, XF 50mm F2. Pick one as your only lens on an outing, or two combine it with another bit of kit.

      Well you're right, you don't need this lens most of the time. But you may want it at times. What makes the difference is the size and weight.
      If you're ok with the fixed focal length, no zooms is going to give you the size, weight and build of this one.
      It's just a fun lens, that is cheap enough to be sitting on the shelf most of the time, until the day you feel like using it

    I accidentally purchased a XT2 last week (don’t ask) so my first lens purchase was a Sigma 30 1.4. Good lens but I need something wider for much of what I do.Today I purchased a new 16 2.8 from the local camera store. The Xt series are not big cameras and I don’t want big lenses for them. The Sigma 30 though not big is still too long but this 16 2.8? Pure Goldilocks in size. I think this lens and I are going to get along.

    Sì hai perfettamente ragione Quello che vorrei sapere eh se con i 40 megapixel le lenti Fujicron della serie F2 f2.8
    hanno problemi di diffrazione a f8 perché il 16 mm o il 18 Mi è f1.4 che sono più grandi ce l'hanno a f 11.
    Io sono un forte sostenitore del fatto che Fujifilm potrebbe fare un sensore a bassa risoluzione come ha fatto Sony sulla S3
    Questo eviterebbe il problema della diffrazione e degli alti ISO

      @@LucaPetraliaPhotography Fai presto con un muro di mattoni.
      Dovresti disattivare la correzione dell'obiettivo perché altrimenti per compensare la diffrazione la macchina ti fa un oversharp a f11

    The 16mm 2.8 (w/hood) is a cute, compact, beautiful gem of a lens... but like the !8mm f2, it is center sharp and fuzzy at the corners throughout the aperture range; returned immediately. I hear the 18mm 1.4 is phenomenal, but it is overpriced and oversized. I saved up and got a mint, original Q at half price- very happy. Pity someone doesn't make a decent 18mm f2/1.8, all around performer for X mount. Their 14mm f2.8 is an IQ phenom!

    • @LucaPetraliaPhotography
      @LucaPetraliaPhotography  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The 18 1.4 is an incredible lens, it's one of the reasons to stick with Fuji. Corners with the 16 aren't that bad. It's not clinically sharp, but still usable and from 5.6 they become good.
      As for the 18f2... I'm hoping fuji comes up with a new version, cause that lens makes a lot of sense for Fuji
