Brilliant, gentlemen. Altitude also effects club distance. I moved from Connecticut to Florida and lost a full club if not more plus bermuda grass is also a deterrent of distance.

Today I golfed for the first time, I’m 23 yrs old..my grandma always wanted me to learn the game and honestly I just thought it was pretty lame, I’ve been in and out of trouble with hanging out with the wrong people but I’m trying to change and trying to surround myself with better people so anyways a lot of my realer friends/down to earth friends told me to pick up golf and most them golfed since they were in diapers, I felt really discouraged today because I couldn’t keep with up them but I’m determined to get better and so far I’ve been watching your guys videos since I got home from the course and honestly you guys really tought me more than my 5 friends that were all trying to tell me do something at once. You guys did really teaching me a lot tonight and I really appreciate it.. give me 2 years tops and I’m gonna be just at good as my friends, just playing 1 day being crappy really made me love this game I so focused to get better and I’ll be at range everyday this summer to be better and using your guy’s tips and pointers as an advantage! My grandma was so happy that I bought some clubs and i just wanna get good for her and wanna be able to actually have a good competitive match again her

I played about 3-4 rounds of golf/yr. always poorly, but some glimmers of hope (rarely). took this video lesson about 12 days ago, and went to the range and practiced what was taught. Started feeling it so I played 9 holes (cannot hold up for 18, games just falls apart after so many holes). On the 3rd hole, a par 3, set the ball on the tee just like they showed, prepared myself according to how they presented, hands, forewarms, feet, weight, then with my 7 iron I drove the ball. It landed about 5' in front and 4' right of the pin, which was at the bottom of a sloping green. It rolled up, then gradually curved to the left, hesitated and then began a low curving path back toward the pin, then disappeared out of sight, a hole in one. I know this is just freak luck, but that I was doing all the "right things" according to the video may have pushed this improbability more to my favor. Needless to say, back to the practice range, watching more of their videos, and feeling thanks for a thrill I really didn't deserve.

Excellent video. In my younger days I swayed too much and still fight it a bit. But this video is a good reminder how to combat the problem. I'm glad you mention at setup you want to have 55 to 60% on your left side. I have to think 60% because when I don't.... I fall back into and even distribution or even a little more on my right side. And then I start hitting my irons too high as you discuss in another video.
Anyway.....good job on the instructions and drills. You do a lot better job at it than some of the 'other' well known youtubers.

ball in same position makes sense only if your irons are all the same length - I learned long ago to move the ball back with higher lofts, 5 iron in the middle 7 iron towards my right foot. Works for me, good luck with this new method.

These guys are amazing! All of their videos are well thought out and extremely helpful no matter the golfer’s skill level. They create an amazing dynamic by having two instructors in videos. Most online instruction is individual without secondary input and can be bias to particular thought process of person in video (instructor). Easy to follow drills with great examples by two very good golfers. Their back and forth answers so many questions that I would normally have with other videos. Thanks to these gentlemen I am consistently breaking 80. Looking to get closer to scratch as we “Shelter In Place”. Please keep the videos coming fellas!

i just discovered your channel and facebook page and i must thank you for 2 'simple' tips that have me wanting to golf again.
i used to play to a 1.6 but have struggled getting my game back. the first tip that helped was ball position. i was way too far back in my stance with all my clubs and wondered why i could not make consistent contact with the ball. the second tip was about the grip. i was a bit too strong because i fear the dreaded slice...
for the first time in over a decade, i simplified my swing and was making solid contact (past the ball... ) and finding the sweet spot with every iron and the woods i carry (only a driver and 3w usually as i love my 3 iron :D )
i was landing my PW consistently over 135 with range balls and finally hitting them straight again... i can't wait to hit a course and play again...
your tip on driver setup was amazing and has made me love my driver again, which i have not hit well since i was breaking wooden heads as a young man... i feel i can take aggressive swings at the ball again, which i know will help my overall game!
thank you both for these lessons!! i was ready to give up golf before i found these videos...

  • @tonyvasquez-progolfcoach1484

Very good video. All of the great players mainly played one shape of shot. Fade - Hogan, Nicklaus, Trevino, Rahm, Koepka, and others; Draw - Jones, Player, Watson, Woods, McIlroy and others. Choose either a fade or a draw as your main shape. Never try to hit the ball dead straight. I mainly hit a draw with my driver for distance, and a fade with my irons and 3-wood for control, height, and stopping power. I shot a 60 on a very tough course that way. It works. Of course, putting is the most important part of the game. Learn how to read greens and how to putt, and practice your putting the most.

I’ve noticed something interesting in all your videos for irons...your backswing is about half as far back as mine usually is. I try not to over-swing but it is so difficult to break the habit.
I’ve seen iron demonstrations where the shaft is parallel at the top of the backswing, but yours are never parallel. They are at best at a 45 degree angle to the ground at the top of your backswing. So, I’ve recently started trying to limit my backswing so it “feels” like the shaft is more vertical at the top of my backswing. It feels very very weird and very very short...but has resulted in much better consistency and contact with pretty much no distance lost.

Andy & Peirs, I really struggle with not hitting the center of club. I hit close to toe. I practice/drill with foot spray and with impact snap. Please let me know.

Recently had a gapping lesson. Made a big difference to my game. Problem I have is that I don’t get a lot of height on my irons.

Good video. If statistically par 3’s are the hardest why are most got the highest SI? A 187-yard par 3 is not a SI 17 for eg.

3:00 that ball position seems a bit too far forward. I would say that it should be one club head length for woods and long irons, and two club head lengths for mid irons, and more mid to back of stance with wedges.

Dear Meandmygoal, I would like to ask if left foot is weak or not strong enough, any advice or guidance?

What I've always struggled with is how far away from the ball do you stand? I feel like that's where I'm inconsistent . the wider your stance is the lower your body is and the narrower you are, the taller your stance is. But, is there some rule of thumb for roughly how far away you stand ?

I have a question about my 3wood setup. Does it differ if I hit it from the tee box vs. hitting from the fairway?

I take a divot after the ball with all my irons. I'll lunching the ball like crazy though yet I dont lose distance.
    What your opinion.

Hi guys! Thanks for a great and very helpful video. I have a question: what's the best way to measure yardage without going to one of the places with trackman or other devices. I was advised to buy a range finder but again not sure what's the best one (as some are very expensive and I really don't know the difference between the one for $100 and $350). Thanks in advance!

As per the below comment, excellent video guys. Would like to get your tips on people like me with a chicken wing finish and perhaps some info on release or hand rotation. I've spent watching videos for hours on this but still struggle with impact and how the arms should be positioned ie dead straight on impact?
