Aside from Marie being there as the only plot armour to heal Bell, every move Bell made after that was calculated.
The fight against the moss monster,Bell discovered that the Hestia knife can discharge magic in any attempt to imbue any into it and multiply the damage upon discharge.
Juggernaut upon first encountering it, Bell discovers that attacking it with magic will activate a magic reflect armor that returns the attack to the caster with amplified damage on top of it.
So doing the math: Bell’s firebolt x the reflect damage boost x The Hestia knife absorbing that attack multiplying the damage even greater = Major damage
At least the author is thinking about the outcome of the battle with all the information and resources given to you as the viewer instead of just some mindless power boost and “power of friendship” troupe.

And in the light novels, triggering the Juggernaut's reflective shield also stuns it for a few seconds, allowing a really straightforward attack like Argo Vesta to connect against a speed-type monster.
Also, Marie's heal powers were established beforehand, so it wasn't exactly plot armor. Marie was already around when the Juggernaut attacked, so it makes sense that she's able to save Bell.
Danmachi is strangely well-written for a show that sold itself as harem shounen tripe.

@@peteomarjebdollosa9170 In terms of her location and abilities of Marie shown you are absolutely right but in terms of convenience where bell was lying like a vegetable, happens to be right next to the water and the juggernauts crowd control attack just HAPPENS to push his near dead body into the water letting Marie conveniently have safe access to heal him after obtaining his arm that HAPPENS to be conveniently in the water when it was cut off.
There’s only a certain amount of connivence you can write off as “good writing” before it gets ridiculously obvious that this is Plot Armour at some point.
@@peteomarjebdollosa9170 i would say danmachi is more of a harem-tease rather than an actual harem since bell really only has eyes for ais, but yeah its really good for the kinda of anime trope it falls under - i actually read pretty much every volume of both danmachi and danmachi SO

I know that JC is hit or miss but the skill of characters that shown is amazing, the only animation that I don't like is the Juggernaut and the Monster Rex, feels like the CGI could improve more... But it still cool. Hoping for more in Part 2.

I mean, what else can he do? He can’t retreat, it’s too fast and he’ll have to leave behind Ryuu. He can’t use long range because his only long range is magic. What exactly are his choices except close quarters?
@@kziila0244 he could've aimed his long range magic at the ceiling above the juggernaut making rocks fall on the creature and while it's distracted he could grab ryu and escape using the water grotto and collapse the the entrance on his way out.

Did you forget how fast that thing is? I didn’t mention your method because I thought it was kind of obvious that the Juggernaut would be fast enough to dodge all those boulders and still have enough time to catch up to him before he leaves the cavern. I am not kidding when I say that thing is fast. Despite how adequately well the anime portrayed the Juggernaut’s frightening speed, it was not good enough to 100% capture the speed described in the LN. It did a good job, just not good enough. The limits of anime, I suppose.
@@kziila0244 I know that the juggernaut is faster than bell but like bell it's not smart otherwise it wouldn't have stood in one place and let bell's attacks land on it's body not dodging any of them.
