5 Tying Tools for Hoisting

5. Tying tools for hoisting - The Firefighter will tie a variety of tools for the purpose of hoisting. Tools included will be pike pole, axe, uncharged hose line, charged hose line, chainsaw, and roof ladder.
a. FF will be standing in full PPE and SCBA awaiting instruction from Training Officer.
b. Upon instruction, FF will tie the designated tools for the purpose of hoisting.
c. FF will take care to demonstrate appropriate tools are checked for functionality before hoisting. IE: starting chainsaw before hoisting.
d. FF will continue to tie instructed tools for hoisting until T.O. is satisfied the FF has demonstrated skills competently.
