    Thank Gabi for a very good very informative video. Its so useful for us. I am planning to come to Chiang Mai with my husband next month so I'm looking forward to yohr next video. Please try and add as much information as possible for us who are coming for the first time. What we need to definitely do and see and what we should avoid. Thank you and keep up the good work!

    Hi Gaby, thank you for the nice video's, really helpful and enjoy to watch. I know what you mean, the bus ride is uncomfortable but is an experience that in someway fits the Thailand feeling! We took the Mr.Prakan insurance like you recommended and was really easy to do. Thailand pass received. Fly into Bangkok (my family with 4) on the 9th and looking forward to go! Greetings from Holland, Mark

    Love the train with the sleeper cars, seat goes flat and the clickety clack of the rails makes for a nice sleep. Getting in 2 hrs early at that time of the morning would be annoying as everything is closed.

    Ok in 2018 we did a tour o Chang Mai but from Chang Mai. This consisted of seeing many beautiful Wats. One more beautiful than the other. Going from Bangkok was not in it for us as we stayed a week in Chang Mai to also visit the elephant sanctuary. A must do. And please never ride the elephants. A tip. Lopburi is beautiful and easy to get to from Bangkok. VIP is cute Gabi. But a bit down to earth gives a nicer feeling.

    I've done bus train and plane Bangkok to Chiang Mai bus cheapest ,plane can be in taxi Bangkok and sitting in a bar or by pool within 3hrs but it's not as cheap as used to be so I usually do night train,take snacks and drinks although can get on train and have a sleep on bunk bed it's great,tip take earplugs as can be noisy at times not everyone sleeps haha

    Great video Gabi. I’m currently in Chiang Mai, yesterday went to the sticky waterfall and also to an secret waterfall in the national park which was unbelievable. I took the 2nd class sleeper train overnight which was around the same that you paid for the bus and was a great experience. Comfy and I’d highly recommend. Here until the 29th maybe bump into you.

    Gabi as soon as you mentioned that the bus was running two hours ahead of schedule I thought WTF!!! The people running that bus company must be brainless if they think it's a good idea to dump passengers off at 4:30. There's no way a train will ever get in early and in that regard it's a blessing. I generally fly to Chiang Mai which is a bit more convenient although I'm not a big fan of airports. Sleeper buses in Vietnam are better IMO in that the beds are horizontal. I also cheat by taking a sedative on long haul flights or overnight bus or train trips. Chiang Mai looks great. I much prefer it to Bangkok.

    A silly question, the insurance for entry Thailand was dropped from 100.000 to 50000, if you want to extend your visa for example another 60 days, what insurance do you need, the 100.000?

    • @ridewithgabi
      @ridewithgabi  Před 2 lety +1

      If you extend while in Thailand, the insurance is no longer mandatory.
      But it’s always better to have it, so in that case you can just choose whatever insurance plan fits you the most
